I didn't dare move closer to the mirror. My heart pounded violently, my hands trembling as I stared at the words etched onto its foggy surface.
"Don't open the door."
But the door was already open.
Slowly, I turned toward the closet, even though every part of me was screaming to run. The door was still ajar, the darkness behind it thick… as if I were staring into an endless void.
Then… I heard it.
That voice.
A whisper—soft, faint, but unmistakably there.
"Iris..."
I gasped, stepping back, but before I could move any further, I heard it again. This time, closer.
"Don't look behind you."
I froze.
Behind me?
There was nothing there… right?
But the feeling creeping into my body was different. The air around me had turned dense, unnaturally cold—like I was no longer alone in the room.
I felt warm breath brush against my neck.
No, no, no… this isn't real.
I shut my eyes tightly, my entire body trembling. I didn't dare move. I didn't even dare breathe too loudly.
Then, suddenly, something appeared in the mirror—a reflection of a tall shadow standing behind me.
Not just a shadow… but a full figure.
There was someone—or something—right behind me.
And without thinking, I screamed at the top of my lungs.
To be continued...
