Nick watched Kyle and Mia on the stage and smiled.
If a TV station dares to use dark humor on TV, it's either for publicity or because they have genuinely good content.
After all, if you don't handle edgy material well, it falls flat.
"I don't like this name very much. Our country has one of the lowest crime rates in the world, and thieves are rarely seen these days."
"This program has no real substance. And I dislike sensational titles that don't align with our country's straightforward style."
"I suggest changing the name of the program and carefully reviewing the content."
Matt picked up his teacup, took a sip of tea, and said. Are they promoting crime?
It's too unconventional! If they established a "Thief Rehabilitation Company," that would be a bit more promising!
Are those attention-grabbing programs truly meaningful? That's just trash!
What's the point of just making people laugh? Stability, education, and gratitude – these are what truly matter!
Matt held Kyle and Mia in disdain.
"However, this name is quite interesting, so please begin the performance." Yaya tried to smooth things over, saying, She disliked being lectured, but Matt was not only a senior comedian but also an influential figure who couldn't be easily offended.
And the audiences watching on TV, mobile phones, and tablets had diverse tastes.
"A thief's company? A thief opened a company? And then got caught. I can predict this ending easily."
"Sigh, a two-person act was already dull, and now with this name, it's definitely going to fail."
"Running out of ideas? No, they didn't have much talent to begin with. I bet they'll start bombing within five minutes."
The audience in front of their screens made their own predictions. However, they soon discovered they were wrong.
On stage, Kyle and Mia began their performance.
Kyle said enviously, "Ah, Mia, a college student, is now a famous actor!"
Mia looked a little proud. "That's me."
Kyle's eyes were filled with envy. "I really envy your job."
Mia nudged Kyle and said, "Don't say that. There's no distinction between high and low jobs."
Kyle looked Mia up and down. "She only uses her mouth, not her hands.
She finished the crosstalk without a single injury!" Mia was a little surprised.
"You expect us to be bleeding after we finish our crosstalk, right?" Kyle looked envious.
"So my work can't compare with yours." Mia was puzzled.
"What's going on?" Kyle was discouraged.
"We get beaten up every other day!" Mia understood.
"Oh, you're involved in boxing?" Kyle clicked his tongue.
"He's so old, yet he's risking his life!" Mia gave him an understanding look.
"That's because boxing is a competitive sport." Kyle was agitated.
"The risk is too great!" Mia gave a thumbs up.
"That's really cool! Look at Jelt, Tyson, and Holyfield!" Kyle looked worried.
"I'm still so old and worried." Mia patted Kyle on the shoulder.
"You'll get used to it." Kyle bent over.
"I'm afraid of being caught!" Mia raised her eyebrows.
"Hide faster!" Kyle was heartbroken.
"If someone catches him, he will be beaten to death!"
Mia was surprised and said, "Then the other party broke the rules! You automatically win!"
Kyle was furious.
"Who cares about that? They hung me up and beat me a few days ago, cursing while they did it!"
Mia was surprised. "Hung him up? And cursed him? How did they curse?"
Kyle mimed a whip with his right hand. "Let you steal the wallet!" Hahaha! Hehehe! Let you steal the wallet?
What on earth is this!
So you're not a boxer; you're a thief!
Not only could the people in the audience not stop laughing, but the audience watching on TV and mobile phones were also clutching their stomachs and groaning with laughter.
"Oh, these two are really interesting! They were talking about boxing before! Suddenly, it turned into a thief getting beaten!"
"Let you steal my wallet! Haha, I really gritted my teeth!" Yaya in the audience was out of breath, holding her stomach and saying, "Stealing wallets, how did he go from boxing to being a thief?
He can't be from a 'Thief Company'!" Nick also laughed and applauded. "It's a really good twist.
Although the setup is short, it builds up layer by layer and completely draws people in. And then the punchline hits at the end! The acting skills are really solid!"
Only Matt looked serious. "Let your kid steal the wallet?" It takes a lot of nerve to compare a crosstalk artist with a thief! What does this imply? Are all crosstalk performers such petty thieves? Who are they mocking?
"Hahahaha!
You're being hung up and beaten, and you're still cursing! Hahaha, it's only natural that you get beaten for stealing a wallet!
You're still angry!" One audience member was laughing so hard that he curled up in his seat like a shrimp. "I knew something was wrong; boxing isn't like this! This is so much fun!"
Another audience member laughed until tears streamed down their face. The applause from the audience was non-stop and thunderous.
Seeing this scene, Mia felt relieved. This program is effective, and the next one will be even better!
Mia pulled Kyle in surprise and said, "Wait, you're a thief?"
Kyle looked surprised and then angry. "You're such an educated person, yet you can say such ugly things. What do you mean by a thief?!"
Mia was a little unsure now.
"Then, should I call you...?" Kyle touched his right hand and said, "Danny Ocean!"
Mia was so exasperated she laughed. "Isn't that different?
This!"
Kyle squatted down, covering his head, and said, "I've had enough! Just to steal these little things, I have to be a coward, stingy, trembling, and sneaking around all day. I don't live a carefree life at all!"
"That's enough!
I regret how I became a thief." Mia advised, "It's good that you understand!"
Kyle stamped his feet, slapped his thigh, and said sadly, "It's better to just rob people on the road! Really, if you catch people robbing people on the road, just execute them, so you don't have to suffer like this!"
Phew, from a thief to a robber, your way of thinking is truly bizarre!
The audience below was overjoyed, and many of them even smiled knowingly.
Mia pretended to be concerned. "Hey, I said, as long as you are determined to correct it, I will do my best to help you."
Kyle wiped his nose. "Kind person, that's all I needed to hear."
Mia nodded and said, "Yes, we still need to change. This new era is different."
Kyle looked terrified. "Even if I quit completely, they won't let me go."
Mia frowned, looked him up and down, and asked, "Are you involved with a gang?"
Kyle was angry. "Who joined a gang?!" Mia asked curiously,
"Then—" Kyle said proudly, "The one I joined is called Thief Company!"
Mia was surprised and asked, "Thief Company?"
Kyle smiled honestly and said, "The full name is Thief Financial Co., Ltd."
"Hahaha, Thief Finance is a limited liability company, it's pretty legitimate!"
The audience below could relate to this. Many companies look impressive but are actually a mess.
Once you join the company, you're screwed.
"Are you saying he's being sarcastic? Are those hooligans disguised as black agents and black property managers?"
"How can he be that bold? Matt is in the audience. How dare he mock him?"
The audience began to whisper, and their hands were clapping until they hurt.
