Chapter 2 - Ch2 - Joint-Stealing Session

It's been a day since I've come to the Vilhelm estate.

The protagonist hasn't come back yet and Lumen is out on a mission with the duke meaning it's just Belle and the duchess.

I've noticed two things since coming here,

1. The maids and servants avoid me like the plague.

2. The knights seem to like me.

Oh, and one extra thing–Bella and Cale seem a lot more than just arranged spouses.

"Lucien~"

 [Space Magic: Sever]

I immediately slashed my pointer and middle finger across the air towards the voice.

'What could this idiot want now?'

Only one person has that annoying of a voice, Lucas.

Lucas dodged out of the way of my slash unbothered by my sudden attack.

"What?"

"Rudeeeee, anyway wanna go steal stuff from the protagonist?"

I raised a brow and looked at him for a second or two before he explained,

"The dungeon? Near the Vilhelm Duchy?"

'This goddamn idiot, that's an E-rank dungeon.'

"That's an E-rank dungeon, bordering D-rank. Aren't we too weak?"

"Well, there's three of us so it's fineee."

"Hah...."

I sighed exasperatingly and put my hand up to my head before continuing

"Did Cale agree?"

"Yep"

"You sure?"

"Yep"

'I somehow doubt that.'

And just like that Lucas somehow convinced me to go with him,

but before that, we had to go get Cale.

'Lucky bastard with a girlfriend.'

I couldn't help but feel a tinge of jealousy as Cale conversed with Belle as they trained.

She was a beautiful young lady who radiated elegance and dignity; her deep black hair and piercing golden eyes made her seem like royalty.

On top of that, she wore basic training clothes that hugged her curves.

And Cale?

He couldn't seem happier talking to her with a wide smile on his face–they seemed like a total fantasy couple.

For a moment they stopped talking and just looked at each other, swords in hands.

"Cough... Belle, could we borrow Cale for a while?"

I of course being the person I am interrupted their moment.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Belle completely side-eyeing me as I pulled Cale aside to explain our stealing session.

"So, we're gonna go to the Flamebrand Dungeon?"

Cale whispered trying not to reveal our knowledge as I nodded.

'Huh? Lucas is surprisingly quiet.'

I noticed as I quickly looked around, but he was nowhere in sight.

I looked at Cale and he was just staring back at something.

'What's he looking at?'

I thought as I followed his gaze just to see Lucas

talking with Belle.

With his phone displaying some revealing maid costume.

I looked back at Cale and he was already gone.

'Fucking idiots.'

***

Lucas' face had small bruises all over since I stopped Cale before he could do any real damage.

"Soooo... Guess we better get walking."

"Nah"

As a lazy mage, I disliked the idea of walking anywhere.

[Space Magic: Spatial View]

Teleportation is limited to what the mage can see, but what if they could see more?

So, I developed this spell, a spell that allowed me to see practically anything in a 100 by 100-meter radius.

[Space Magic: Teleportation]

"You're a damn monster you know that?"

Cale remarked as he looked around at the lush forest all of us appeared in.

"Well, when every other space user is a fucking idiot it's not that hard."

Space is a rare affinity, one of the rarest actually. Most users barely make it past E rank and no notable space users have ever appeared.

Plus, space is needed for storage rings, so most users go into storage ring production.

A portal-like vortex of mana, twisting and turning as if it were wind.

It had a deep red color, and almost all life ran away from its chaotic energy.

Lucas stood on edge as he quietly observed our surroundings whilst Cale rested his hands on the hilt of his blade.

Then we entered the dungeon ready for what was about to unfold.

***

A blaze erupted, crackling with a fiery hue, flames came down with Cale's radiant sword.

[Sunsworn Swordsmanship - Flame Wheel]

Cutting through the fiery red goblin-like creatures with utter ease.

Lucas didn't slow down either as bullets flew across the battlefields precisely shot at the backline mages that rained down fire on Cale.

"Fire dungeons are annoying for a flame user."

Cale said as he cut down enemies with his bursting flames.

"You say that as if you're not slicing them up like butter."

Lucas remarked whilst still firing his bullets.

'Can these guys shut the hell up!?'

I was in the back utterly focused on my magic; I had set up a spatial field in this corridor a while ago.

It allowed me to teleport and control things within its range, but I required a whole ton of focus to keep it up while doing other things.

I supported Cale by making sure the enemies didn't group up too much against him and did a bit of damage with my space magic.

[Space Magic: Hardened Space]

I hardened space into small, sharp shards and launched them at the incoming enemies.

I had tuned out the sounds of bullets long ago as Lucas didn't stop for even a moment.

It seemed like he had an infinite source of bullets as he countlessly mowed down the backline.

"These guys just don't seem to stop, huh?"

Lucas remarked visible sweat dripping down his head.

"They don't and my mana reserves are gonna run out eventually."

"I have a plan, but after we might need to rest for a while."

I said while looking at the both of them in which they nodded in response.

"Cale! Use an aoe attack, now!"

Cale paused for a moment, but he raised his sword as Lucas covered him assuring the attack would land.

Flames erupted from his blade twisting and writhing, tendrils of pure flames dancing up and down his blade.

"Burn."

An incantation, short and concise, echoing across the corridors with mana escaped his mouth.

The flames erupted once more growing in a sapphire hue and with that, he slashed towards the ground.

"Sunsworn Swordsmanship, Benevolent Clear Skies."

[Space Magic: Condensed Space]

[Space Magic: Spatial Manipulation]

I put my hands together interlacing my thumbs making a sort of two-layered wall with my hands.

I pulled them apart and boom with that hand sign,

Raw blue flames erupted from the tip of his blade like a wave it devastated and devoured everything in its path

Each and every corridor, each and every hall was met with a flash of pure blue devouring flames.

The entire first section of the dungeons writhed in agony as they were burnt to a crisp at a mere moment's notice.

Lucas barely avoided the attack as he jumped up avoiding the floor of blue flames grabbing me with him.

Me and Cale both completely collapsed leaving Lucas to fend for himself.

And Lucas?

He sat there in utter astonishment at the pure destruction his two friends had just caused.
