The months passed, and Aurelia remained locked in the house, just as William had promised. She had no chance to go outside. Every time she tried, he made sure he was already on the other side of the door or window she was trying to open. The doors were always tightly locked, and the locks were impenetrable. Aurelia hated this situation. She couldn't hate her father, but at the same time, she couldn't understand why he was reacting this way. Why was he keeping her so strictly confined?
That night, as Aurelia was locked in her room, her mind was filled with thoughts and questions that had no answers. She couldn't sleep; her mind was consumed by him, the tall, dark-haired man, Sebastian.
Why did William hate Sebastian so much? Why had he reacted that way that day? What was this feeling inside her that made her want to see him again so badly? How could she be thinking about him like this when she didn't even know him well? And yet, something inside her was pulling her relentlessly toward him.
She closed her eyes and buried her face in the soft pillow, trying to calm herself.
Aurelia: Why?... Why do I want to see him again so much? I don't even know him well... Why does something pull me so strongly toward him?
Her words came out softly, filled with embarrassment and doubt. She felt a tight knot in her stomach, and her thoughts began to overwhelm her. The questions spun in her mind, and the weight of the situation made her feel flooded with emotions. Her heart was beating fast with anxiety and uncertainty.
Aurelia: That's enough!
She said aloud, trying to push away the feeling of helplessness.
Aurelia: I'll get out of here! I'll get out and run far away! I'll show him what kind of girl I've become! I'll show him that I'm capable of anything!
Her decision was final. She slowly got out of bed and started taking off her black silk nightgown, feeling the tension take over her. She put on her usual clothes—the ones that made her feel stronger. Luckily, William might have taken almost everything from her, but he hadn't taken her sickle, and that was all she needed.
When she was ready, she carefully placed a few pillows under the duvet and covered them well, trying to deceive William and buy herself some extra time. She knew she had to leave without being noticed. With her sickle, she managed to break the lock on her window. She slowly opened the window and looked down... It was very high. If she jumped, her legs would definitely break. But that didn't scare her.
Aurelia carefully descended the tall wall, her body stretching and adjusting to the direction she wanted to go. When her feet touched the ground, she quickly crouched down and began walking slowly, leaving behind the safety of the house and the control of her father. Each step was filled with the sensation of freedom.
The next day dawned slowly, and William opened his eyes as the sunlight streamed through his window, gently brushing his eyelids. The morning's freshness was alive, but a sense of exhaustion overwhelmed him.
William: Hmm... Wow... That was a heavy sleep... I must have been more tired than I thought... Anyway, I need to get up...
He muttered softly as he slowly got out of bed. He made it up, straightened the covers, and changed out of his pajamas into his regular clothes. He walked slowly to Aurelia's room, half-opened the door, and took a quick look inside.
William: Is she still asleep? ... Strange, she usually wakes up before me... Maybe she didn't sleep at all last night...
He thought and slowly closed the door behind him, trying not to make any noise. He went to the kitchen and prepared warm tea—the BlueRose Tea, Aurelia's favorite. He knew how much she liked the aroma and its strong flavor, as it brought a pleasant sense of calm and tranquility. Today was the day he wanted to break the ice between them, to take the first step. He also made a light omelet with chopped vegetables and a small salad on the side.
When everything was ready, he put on a warm smile and went back to Aurelia's room. He entered slowly, saying in a relaxed voice:
William: Did you sleep well, my beloved princess?
But there was no response. He felt a small wave of anxiety wash over him. He placed the breakfast on her nightstand and sat at the edge of her bed.
William: Aurelia... I know I didn't act as I should have that night... I was too harsh with you... And in general, these past few months... But please try to understand, I love you more than anything in this world... I just want to protect you...
He paused for a moment, trying to find the right words.
William: I know... I've been terrible these days, you're right... But everything I did, I did out of fear... The Shinigami can't feel emotions as strongly as humans... But with you, I've felt everything... Joy, sadness, love, worry... Fear... You made me feel so many things...
His voice trembled slightly as he spoke, but he continued.
William: I wish I could be an even better father to you... That's why, starting today, we'll start from scratch! We'll spend time together!
He looked back at the bed, and his expression hardened.
William: Aurelia? Can you hear me?
He spoke in a sterner voice, and without thinking much, he pulled the duvet off her. His legs gave way when he saw the bed was empty and only pillows were underneath. His blood ran cold.
When did she manage to leave? How did she leave? How many hours had passed, and I didn't notice a thing?
His heart started pounding, but rage quickly consumed his mind. Their apartment was very high up. She couldn't have just left like this.
William: That... that bastard came and took her... I'll kill him with my own hands and tear him into a thousand pieces!
His voice was filled with pure fury, and his eyes burned with rage. The world around him seemed to darken as his obsession with finding Aurelia took over him.
Immediately, he left his apartment and headed for the mansion of Ciel Phantomhive.
