Have you ever imagined a world that was shaped by your desire? A world where things you wish never existed, and things you wish did exist, happen?
Have you been so tired of this current reality for you to think like that?
Well, I guess.
Sometimes the world is so unfair, that things never come to pass the way it should be, all because of some people that don't know anything.
These people really think they know it all.
But the fact is, they're simply too ignorant to know what any of this world really is.
They continue to follow it's path, going towards the unknown that they think is advancement.
Too blind to consider that all of this is leading their society into chaos.
And now, Kayn has been a victim of this insensitive world.
And yet...
Where's the justice? Where's the righteousness?
Where are the things that this world led us to believe that its capable of fixing anything?
Where's the proof of dignity this world offered us at the very start?
Where are the characteristics this world needs that Kayn has?
It's nowhere to be found.
Nothing but a false belief they made us accept.
But now, Kayn has finally realized it.
This betrayal of trust Kayn had ever since he became different.
That call he had made with his co-workers still lingered in his mind, the audio still replaying itself in his head.
It shattered all he had built up from the ground, and he's met with the same ground again.
Scattered by broken glass, still showing his reflection on the floor.
So much so, his voice in his subconscious had to step in, to tell him what this is.
His final string of belief untangled itself from him.
"Yes."
Kayn answered to the voice, no more reluctance left in it. Only contemplation of what would happen next.
The quiet noise around him began to burr into nothingness, the atmosphere slowly dying out of breath. Leaving him alone with his own thoughts, his own voice.
He couldn't care less of what would happen now, but the voice whispered otherwise.
'Yes? Is that right?'
The voice swirled around his consciousness, making him feel like the whole world was spinning.
"What do you think I meant? This place no longer needs me, and I no longer need it. I want to be taken out of here."
Kayn felt out of place, like he wanted nothing to do with this world.
But we both know that that's a lie.
'Taken out? Is that really how you see it?'
The quiet friction between himself and his voice spanned across what felt like hours.
"Take me out of here. I don't want to be here, not after what they've done."
Kayn, the once bright and optimistic man, fell down in despair of the world that made him like this.
"I'm not the one who's at fault. It's theirs!"
Despite his initial silence and timidity, he couldn't help but burst out into a fit of unrestingly anger, hurt in every word he uttered.
"I offered what it meant to be thoughtful, selfless, and kind. But what of it if this is what they all see it as?"
His mind swerved from how he used to think, only left with thoughts of uncertainty and grief.
"I don't care... is what I want to say, but I know that if this continues, the world I used to know will fall into its own demise."
Even after all his hatred of what truth he was presented with, he still had the cornerstone to care.
"I want things to change. You said you'd help me."
The air became thick in the darkness of what he wanted, still looking towards whatever he wanted to presume.
'Alright, alright. But don't say I didn't warn you.'
It stalled for time to think, as Kayn became unwillingly impatient to see what the voice was about to utter.
'You will die. And come back into another reality. Too bad I won't be there to help.'
You know, Kayn wanted to shout bullshit to that, but only his past self would ever.
At that moment, he couldn't help but laugh. Laugh at such a revelation that was told to him.
The only other time he ever got this shocked was over that call.
But at this point, anything else he ever does seems completely meaningless.
So, why the hell not?
"Just do it."
He didn't care anymore if it was a voice that came directly from his head. It mattered nonetheless that something felt like it was coming for him.
This uneasy feeling that crawled under his nerves was unnerving for him to bear.
Until it didn't anymore.
Let me tell you something.
The world around us doesn't change just because we want it to, it changes because we act on it.
We all know that applying force to something makes it move, but exactly what do you do against a mountain?
Nothing, really.
It's too much for anyone to handle; the same goes for difficulties and problems that extend far beyond our control, our influence.
And sometimes, this can push us into a state of not caring anymore, of grieving and regretting that we weren't able to do anything whatsoever.
I can't blame you if you end up like that, but why give up?
If something says you can't change it, make it change.
It's that simple.
Even through everything you might've gone through, is that alone enough to make up for the lack of effort you put in?
I don't think so. Yet only a select few actually stand to make that a reality for themselves.
And what Kayn is doing, is one of them.
Living the normal life he had gone through to this point, it was inevitable for him to face the reality of this world.
And so, his mind drifts.
His thoughts begin to melt away into existence, and he feels nothing but the universe around him.
Quiet sounds of the world he now despised slowly vanished into the abyss.
His consciousness was at the brink of lasting at his dying breath, as he fell onto the ground.
Distant sirens rang outside his office building as his co-workers reported that he had fainted. Unresponsive.
At all odds, they probably don't have a living clue as to how this happened, why he fainted, or when it all started.
Not a clue.
It's sad, really. Seeing these insignificant people that Kayn actually tried to befriend, backstab him just like this.
Well, no use dwelling on it now.
To tell you the truth, people like this still exist today. Harming others, lying to those friendly enough to get in the crossfire of it.
So there's no doubt at all that another world would also be filled with people like these.
It's just that common.
And now, we wonder how uncommon it is for good people to exist. Of how much value is it to live up to a world like this?
It shouldn't be this hard to consider it, but it's evident enough that we still see it today.
Amongst all this, Kayn was one of them. But I guess he isn't anymore.
A reality beyond our own is more than enough to make people excited about the very thought of it.
But if he's wrong... and it's all the same... what point was any of this meant for?
