Adrian stood outside Chris's house, hesitating for a moment before ringing the doorbell. They had agreed to meet up at Chris's place to finish their project, and Adrian had offered to bring his laptop and notes.
The door swung open, and Chris stood before him, looking slightly disheveled. "Hey," Chris said, stepping aside to let Adrian in.
Adrian entered the house, taking in the cozy atmosphere. The living room was cluttered with books and papers, and a large TV dominated one wall. Adrian spotted a few family photos on the mantlepiece, but they were sparse.
"Make yourself at home," Chris said, gesturing to the couch. "I'll get us some drinks."
As Chris disappeared into the kitchen, Adrian took a seat on the couch, setting up his laptop and notes. He couldn't help but notice the contrast between Chris's tidy school persona and the more relaxed, casual atmosphere of his home.
Chris returned with two glasses of soda, handing one to Adrian. "Thanks for coming over," Chris said, sitting down beside him on the couch.
Adrian nodded, taking a sip of his drink. "No problem. We need to finish this project."
As they worked, Adrian couldn't help but steal glances at Chris, who seemed more at ease in his own home. Chris's hair was slightly mussed, and his eyes seemed to crinkle more at the corners when he smiled.
Their legs touched briefly as they worked, sending a spark of electricity through Adrian's body. He quickly pulled away, trying to focus on the task at hand.
But as the afternoon wore on, Adrian found himself growing more and more comfortable in Chris's presence. They worked together seamlessly, their banter and jokes flowing easily.
For the first time, Adrian felt like he was seeing a different side of Chris – a side that was more relaxed, more genuine. And he couldn't help but wonder what other secrets Chris might be hiding.
As they took a break to grab some snacks from the kitchen, Adrian noticed the way Chris moved with ease in his own home. He seemed to relax into himself, letting his guard down ever so slightly.
Adrian found himself drawn to this more vulnerable side of Chris. He wanted to know more about what made Chris tick, what lay beneath the surface of his polished exterior.
As they sat back down on the couch, Adrian felt a sense of comfort and ease that he hadn't experienced in a long time. It was as if, for the first time, he was seeing Chris as a person, rather than just a classmate or adversary.
And that realization sparked a sense of curiosity and wonder within Adrian. He wanted to explore this new side of Chris, to see where it might lead.
But for now, he was content to simply sit beside Chris, working together in comfortable silence.
