After school, Kit sat at his home dining room table with the tutor his busy parents had hired.
In the past, Fon tutored as a side job before he heads off to college abroad soon, he was somehow friends with his mother but never knew vampire origin.
Kit nerves had been on edge ever since he tasted Fiacha blood, and he continued to sweat under his bangs.
He swallowed hard at the memory. No food had ever been so addictive or satisfying to his vampire side.
He clenched his fists under the table, trying to ignore his werewolf instincts urging him to track Bell's scent, to protect and be with him at any cost, despite what had happened.
Kit two natures were at war, and he wanted neither of them.
Blinking rapidly, Kit refocused on the school subject Fon tutoring him in.
He stared at Fon who was engrossed in the math equation. Fon is... Bell's Alpha now? What did that word even mean after what I've done?
Fon frowned, sensing Kit's unease.
He leaned back from the book and asked, "I'm swinging by Det's place to drop off his phone. Need something near the area?"
Kit panicked a grin as Fon checked his temperature.
Fon grabbed his jacket from the back of the chair, instructing, "Update me if it gets better—"
Kit seized Fon arm, startling him. In that moment, Kit revealed the most honest sentiment he'd ever shared with Fon. "I think I'm dying."
Fon chuckled, oblivious to Kit's turmoil, as he helped him out of the chair. "You're not! Come down before he gently sat him down.
