Chapter 8
Manon pouted and followed up, "Yeah, but grandpa scared me just now." Grandpa laughed, "You're quite good at changing your tune, little girl." "Hehe."
Manon hid behind Louis and chuckled foolishly, vividly portraying the essence of a silly and sweet character.
Louis couldn't help it and turned his head, curling up the corners of his lips. Looking at the slight smile on Louis lips, the big stone in Old Master Malcolm heart finally fell to the ground. However...There was still one thing he hadn't confirmed.
The old man's eyes flickered and he waved his hand at the two of them. "Alright, alright, disappear from my sight now. The butler will come and take you to your room. It's been a long time since the house has been lively." Louis smiled and held Manon's hand.
"I remember where the room is. We don't need the butler's help. Grandfather, please rest early." After speaking, he led the little girl out of the study and walked towards his room. Manon wanted to break free from his hand as soon as she left the study, but a servant came towards them. She glanced at their hands and gave up trying to escape. When they arrived at the room and closed the door, Manon immediately let go of his hand.
She had planned to ease the awkwardness by looking around the room, but when she saw that there was only one bed, she couldn't help but frown. "Sleep in separate beds?" She looked at Louis with her head tilted. Louis shook his head.
"Grandfather will send someone to check." "Your grandfather has a habit of watching his grandson sleep?" Manon looked shocked.louis looked at her and thought of something. His eyes flickered and he calmly shook his head. "Not watching, listening." "Listening? Listening to what?" Manon looked at him in confusion. Seeing her puzzled expression, Louis suddenly had a mischievous idea.
He leaned close to Manon's ear, and his cold breath with a hint of heat brushed against her face. "As a newlywed couple, what kind of sounds do you think will be heard at night?" Manon was stunned for a moment, and then her face turned red when she realized what he meant. She stiffened her neck and turned her head, stuttering, "T-then, what should we do?
Can we still leave the Malcolm house now?" The little girl's face was much cuter than her usual cold and icy expression, as she looked shocked. A hint of a smile appeared in Louis eyes as he couldn't resist reaching out and rubbing the top of her head, gently reassuring her, "Don't worry, I'll handle it." Manon's mind was still blank, and she didn't even notice how intimate Louis action was.
He didn't seem to mind, and began to tidy up the room. Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. Manon jumped in surprise and finally came back to her senses. She looked up to see Louis opening the door, revealing the face o the housekeeper. "I saw that the seventh master's light was still on downstairs. Do you need anything?" the housekeeper asked. Louis looked at her and nodded,
"No, you can go back to your work." The housekeeper glanced at the two of them and left. Manon had calmed down by now and made a decision, "Let's sleep in the same bed tonight." She thought that was the end of it, but when they finished washing up and lay down on the bed, Louis suddenly spoke up, "Can you hum?" Manon's face stiffened, and she instinctively moved away from him, "Why?"Louis noticed her movement and found it amusing. He pulled her back and leaned in close to her ear, lowering his voice, "Just hum a little."
Manon was instantly on edge and was about to yell at him, but he covered her mouth with his hand. Before she could react, she felt him nibble on her neck, causing her body to involuntarily shrink, "Mmm!" Louis paused for a moment, loosening his grip on her mouth, and then his other hand moved to her waist.
Manon shuddered all over when she was touched, and subconsciously struggled, "Um, no..." But as soon as she spoke, she shut uand stopped struggling. Was that her voice?! Louis also stopped moving and suddenly rolled off the bed.
Manon couldn't believe what had just happened and was also annoyed by Louis sudden act of hooliganism. She got up and walked over to him, but when she saw the figure disappearing outside the slightly open door, she fell silent.
After closing the door, Louis looked apologetically at Manon, "It was a sudden situation."Manon felt a bit aggrieved, as she still felt uncomfortable in her neck and waist. But she was still reasonable and spoke with some difficulty, "Remember to let me know before you do that next time." Louis couldn't help but chuckle.
As he watched the little girl walk uncomfortably back to bed, Louis gaze lowered and he saw her small feet under the moonlight, shining with a warm glow like moonstone. He suddenly froze. "Why aren't you wearing shoes again?" Before Manon could react, she was already lifted up and placed on the bed.
"You rest early, I'll go to the sofa." After speaking, he turned and left. Manon was silent for a second, then reached out and grabbed his wrist, "Forget it, I'll get used to it in advance." After speaking, she quickly wrapped herself in the blanket, "You sleep on that side." The next day. Manon woke up first and looked at the man beside her. She suddenly felt a bit embarrassed and quietly got out of bed and ran into the bathroom. It took a while for her to calm down, and as she walked out of the bathroom, she saw Louis sitting up in bed.
They locked eyes for just a second before Manon quickly looked away. Noticing her avoidance, Louis raised an eyebrow and got up to walk into the bathroom. At that moment, there was a knock on the door.
The butler's voice came from outside, "Seventh Young Master, are you and madam ready for breakfast." Manon was about to go open the door, but was gently stopped by the man. She turned to see Louis putting a finger to his lips, signaling for her to be quiet. "This is a new test."
