Chapter 21
The next morning,Manon woke up feeling hot. She slowly opened her eyes and when she saw the person next to her, her mind went blank. Blinking her eyes, she was dazed and confused for a second before quickly looking down at her clothes. Pajamas? When did she put on pajamas? Suddenly, a few scenes flashed through her mind and her brain instantly cleared up. Blushing, she tried to get out of bed quietly but found out that Louis hand was tightly holding her waist. She gritted her teeth and slowly moved his hand aside. Just as she was about to get out of bed, her body was pulled back again. "What? Trying to escape?" came the hoarse voice of a man who hadjust woken up from behind her. Manon's body suddenly stiffened and she didn't dare to speak. The hand around her waist tightened again and Louis looked at the blushing girl's earlobes and smiled as he leaned in close to her, his breath spraying on her neck. "You want to take advantage of me and then pretend it never happened?" "I..." Manon was shocked and subconsciously raised her neck to retort, "We didn't actually do anything!" "Hehe." The man behind her chuckled softly, "wifey, the way you talk makes me think you're looking forward to having an actual relationship with me." "I am not! Louis , let go of me!" Manon was angry and embarrassed. She broke free from his embrace and walked into the bathroom, lifting the blanket and taking big steps. Listening to the sound of water inside, Louis thought of the girl's shy face and a smile appeared in his eyes. He slowly got out of bed, walked to the bathroom door, and knocked, "Do you want me to take you to the company?" "No!" The girl's voice was full of anger and shyness. Louis chuckled softly and quickly left the room. After washing up, Manon took a quick shower and when she came out of the bathroom, she looked around the room carefully and found that he had already left. She breathed a sigh of relief and walked to the closet to change her clothes before leaving the villa.
As Manon walked towards the company, she was regretting drinking too much the night before. It wasn't until she got closer to the entrance that she noticed something was off. There were many people gathered in front of the company's gate, all holding signs. Manon didn't understand what was happening until she saw a few journalists among the crowd.
As soon as the journalists saw her , they rushed towards her with their cameras and microphones, "Ms. Anderson, do you know about the fake cosmetics formula scandal involving Anderson group?"
"Ms. Anderson, the fake products scandal has caused severe injuries on citizens that used it . How is Anderson group planning to resolve this issue?"Fake products? Manon frowned slightly, and from the journalists' questions, she could tell what had happened. She looked at them calmly, "I will give everyone an explanation. Please wait."
Manon called the security guards and walked into the company, with the sound of the affected ' families' curses and demands for justice behind her.
Once in her office, Manon immediately called for a meeting with her secretary. She turned on her computer and furrowed her brows. In just a few hours, the fake products scandal involving the company had made headlines, and the company's stocks had plummeted.Looking at the comments under the hot topic, Manon pressed her temples with her fingers, her eyes filled with coldness.
"Anderson group hasn't been doing well since Manon took over."
"I agree. Under Mr Anderson leadership, the company didn't make much progress, but at least they didn't have this kind of scandal."
"The people who took the ' fake products are so pitiful.
"Tsk tsk, selling fake products. This kind of company deserves to go bankrupt!""I don't understand what those shareholders of Anderson's are thinking. They actually let a young and inexperienced kid become the CEO. Isn't this just a joke?"

All of them were blaming Manon!
Manon closed her computer and walked into the conference room with a gloomy face. The company's top executives and shareholders had not arrived yet. She propped her chin with one hand and tapped the table slowly with the other, thinking about countermeasures.
"Ms. Anderson, everyone is here."
The secretary stood beside Manon and whispered.Manon's eyes cleared up and she scanned the conference room. "What do you all think?"
As soon as she spoke, the previously calm conference room exploded.
"What can we do? Anderson group stock has already dropped several points. If we don't find a way to save it soon, we'll all be out of a job!"
"That's right! What can we do? You're the leader of Anderson. Don't we have to listen to you?"
"Yes, Manon . We trusted you when we asked your father to step down. But now that something has gone wrong, you're asking us to find a solution. What kind of leader are you?"Everyone was talking at once, but no one offered a solution. Instead, they pushed Manon to the highest point.
Manon listened to their words and gradually became cold. She held the documents in her hand and threw them directly on the table.
"Bang!"
The sound was loud enough to silence everyone. They looked at each other with contempt in their eyes.
"I called this meeting to find a solution, not to turn it into a marketplace!" Manon's eyes were full of coldness as she spoke sternly."We are discussing the matter, aren't we? Besides, it was you who wanted to come back and manage the company, and now that something has happened, you don't want to find a solution but instead want us to come up with a plan to fix it?" Manon looked towards the speaker, and held back what she had to say
"That's right, as the CEO of the company, shouldn't you be the one finding a solution to this problem?" Other dissatisfied shareholders also spoke up.
Looking at them, Manon suppressed her anger and spoke again, "Of course, I will find a solution, but is the company mine ?
Her gaze swept over the shareholders, and Manon coldly withdrew her eyes. "This meeting today was my mistake, and there won't be another one. Dismissed!"
What was she thinking? Did she really believe that there were useful people among this pile of garbage?!
