Chapter 20 - Chapter 20: Veridian Academy

"Hastora! Wake up! You're going to be late for the academy today!" Zarafel shouted in Hastora's mind.

Hastora, hearing the shout, quickly woke up and rubbed his eyes. He also stretched his body, then he got out of bed, took a towel and went to the bathroom to freshen up.

After soaking, he dried his body and walked to his room to put on his academy uniform.

"Zarafel," he called. "Does this uniform suit me?"

"Of course," he replied. "You look very handsome, you are the most handsome person I have ever met."

Hearing that, Hastora felt that Zarafel wasn't lying, he knew it from Zarafel's tone of voice which didn't show any signs of lying at all. Then, he packed his suitcase, Hastora would be staying at the academy from now on.

"Bumm"

"Hastora!" his mother shouted, kicking his bedroom door. "Are you done packing your suitcase?"

"Yes," he replied briefly. "Then I'll go."

"No no!" his mother shouted. "You have to have breakfast first."

"I'll have breakfast on the horse-drawn carriage."

"If that's what you want, okay. Come on, you'll be late, it's your first day at the academy."

His mother walked out of his room, Hastora followed her from behind carrying his suitcase. They walked down the stairs one by one to the bottom floor.

His mother took Hastora's breakfast and put it in a plastic bag. Then she walked back out of the house followed by Hastora from behind.

Outside, a horse-drawn carriage with its driver was waiting for Hastora in front of the gate.

"You're going to go with that horse-drawn carriage," his mother said. "And here's your breakfast."

Hearing that, Hastora quickly took the breakfast given by his mother. After taking his breakfast, Hastora immediately left without saying a word. He felt it was unnecessary. However, it seemed that Elsia hugged Hastora suddenly from behind. She wanted to hug Hastora before he left for the academy.

"Don't be a naughty boy when you're at the academy later, Hastora," his mother said while hugging him.

"Yes," he replied briefly.

It seemed that Ard also felt a little sad about Hastora's departure to the academy. However, it seemed that he covered it up because he didn't want to be seen by Hastora.

"I'm leaving, father, mother," said Hastora, waving his hand.

"Alright, goodbye," said his father, waving his hand too.

Hastora got on the horse-drawn carriage. He also waved his hand one more time to his parents.

"We're leaving," said the driver who was driving this horse-drawn carriage.

The horse-drawn carriage ran as fast as usual. Hastora immediately opened the breakfast given by his mother earlier, it seemed that his breakfast was a burger. Hastora looked a little happy because his mother knew his favorite food. He immediately devoured the burger while looking out the window.

It looked very crowded with people who were active in the city. The atmosphere there was very lively, it made Hastora's eating disturbed. He hated anything noisy.

The horse-drawn carriage ran a little faster than before. It seemed that the driver deliberately drove it a little faster so that Hastora wouldn't be late. The driver looked like a responsible person.

After 10 minutes of travel, Hastora finally arrived at the academy. He felt that he arrived quickly because the horse-drawn carriage driver drove his horse-drawn carriage quickly.

It looked like there were many first-year students walking into the academy. They seemed to be chatting with people they knew. It also looked like there were some first-year students who looked a little arrogant. The student looked at everyone with a look that showed that they were just trash. Seeing that, Hastora felt that the student was a bastard from the upper class nobility.

Hastora didn't want to linger. He hurried into the academy carrying his suitcase. Hastora walked with a flat and cold expression as usual.

"Hey, get out of the way!" shouted the arrogant student earlier. "You're blocking my way."

Hastora had already guessed that the bastard would do something like this. The arrogant student had blue hair and a slightly fat body. Hastora just glanced at him for a moment then ignored him and continued walking into the academy.

The arrogant student looked annoyed, he felt Hastora was ignoring him. He attacked Hastora with his fist from behind. However, the weak attack wouldn't be able to hit Hastora. He caught the arrogant student's arm and grabbed it tightly, it made him hurt.

All the first-year students who were walking into the academy saw the commotion they both caused.

"Hey! let go of my arm, you bastard! You don't know who I am?" shouted the arrogant student. "I am Jefri von Goethe."

"So?" asked Hastora, giving a cold stare. "Do you want me to do something after hearing your bad name?"

"What? Of course you have to follow my words," replied the student named Jefri in a slightly loud tone. "You also have to kneel before me so that I will forgive you."

"Ha?" Hastora punched Jefri's face very hard. It caused him to fly far away. Hastora also seemed to say something to him before he walked back into the academy.

"Damn you!" shouted Jefri. "You'll regret it because you dared to hit me."

"Shut up," said Hastora with a cold stare. "You're a disgusting fat man, your existence is already sad enough."

Hastora walked back into the academy. He considered the incident as if it had never happened. In his opinion, the incident was not even worth remembering.

"Why didn't you just kill him?" asked Zarafel. "I don't even want to see his face again."

"We can't do that," Hastora replied calmly. "We're at the academy now, have you forgotten?"

After entering the academy, Hastora immediately sat on a bench near the garden while waiting for the principal to call to gather in the field.

"What are you doing here?" asked Charlotte who had just arrived. "Are you lonely? I can sit here, right?"

"I'm just waiting for the principal to call everyone to the field," he replied. "And, please sit down."

Hearing that, Charlotte quickly sat beside Hastora. There was something different about Charlotte today. Charlotte's nature was not like usual. Charlotte became a little more confident today. She also became a little prettier than usual. She wore a blue hair clip shaped like an ice flower in her hair.

"We're going to be in the same class today," said Charlotte. "So... do you want to sit next to me?"

Hastora had already guessed that Charlotte would say that. He didn't want to sit next to Charlotte from the beginning. In his opinion, if he sat next to Charlotte, it would make it a little difficult to think because of Charlotte who had a habit of stealing glances at Hastora.

"You should just sit with your friends," he replied. "I think they also—"

Hastora hadn't finished his sentence. Suddenly, a group of Charlotte's friends came towards them. Hastora started to feel a little uncomfortable, he quickly turned his face away.

"Charlotte!" they called. "You're so romantic early in the morning."

Charlotte, who usually would be embarrassed and shy after hearing those words, is no longer. She really has changed now. Her goal to fully get Hastora seems very serious.

"We're not dating," Charlotte replied with a slight smile.

"Eh? I thought you were dating," said one of her friends who had pink hair. "Hoho.. hey handsome, why are you so shy?"

Hastora felt a little annoyed by this. He really didn't want to interact with them because he thought it would be very troublesome. However, it seems that he has no choice.

Hastora sighed. "Huh... who's shy? he said with a flat and cold expression.

"Eh? don't be so cold," said the pink-haired woman earlier. "My name is Gisella Fransiskus, you can call me Gisell."

"Why are you suddenly introducing yourself?" asked Hastora. "I don't even expect it."

Hearing that, Gisella immediately knew that Hastora was a very cold person, it could be seen from how he spoke. Gisella walked towards Hastora, she took Hastora's neck.

"Hehe... if you're so cold I'm interested in you," said Gisella while giving a naughty smile. "Be my boyfriend, how about it?"

The moment Gisella said that, suddenly a very strong killing aura emerged from Charlotte's direction. She was currently sitting stiffly while releasing a very strong killing aura. Hastora felt that Charlotte would explode soon. She looked very afraid if Hastora accepted Gisella's offer. However, that would never happen. Even though Gisella was beautiful. But, from Hastora's point of view, Gisella didn't even look attractive even though her face was beautiful. She was different from Charlotte who, in his opinion, had a strong attraction.

"Sorry, find someone else, I'm not interested in you," Hastora replied with a flat and cold expression. He showed as if he was not interested at all in Gisella.

"Hahaha, you're rejected outright," said one of Charlotte's other friends. She looked like she had yellow hair with a beautiful face.

"Why are all Charlotte's friends so beautiful?" asked Zarafel curiously.

"It's just normal," Hastora replied. He said it according to the facts he saw.

Gisella seemed to be quite annoyed because she was rejected outright by Hastora. It could be seen from her facial expression. Hastora seemed to have had enough of Charlotte's friends. He got up from his seat and hurried away from there.

"Charlotte, I'll go first," he said, waving his hand.

"Alright," she replied with a slight smile. It seemed that Charlotte also knew the reason why Hastora left from there.

"Hey! you're so arrogant!" shouted one of Charlotte's friends. The woman looked like she had green hair with green eyes. "Even though you're just a low-class nobleman."

Hearing that, Hastora stopped for a moment and turned his head slightly back. He seemed to be looking at something.

"Board," said Hastora, turning back to the front.

The green-haired woman looked confused by the meaning of Hastora's words. However, after seeing Charlotte staring at her chest, she began to realize what Hastora meant earlier.

Hastora felt that the woman had understood the meaning of his words earlier, he walked back to another place.

"You bastard! just because you're handsome, you think you can insult a woman's chest at will!?" shouted the green-haired woman. "Mine is not flat, it's just not grown yet."

"Whatever," said Hastora. "Board, a board is still a board".

The green-haired woman looked even more annoyed, she wanted to shout and curse Hastora again. However, her mouth was immediately held by Charlotte's friend who had yellow hair earlier.

"My name is Chloe Hestlein. And the name of this green-haired woman is Greya von Goethe! Nice to meet you!" shouted the yellow-haired woman earlier, her name was Chloe.

Hearing the name Goethe, Hastora felt that she was Jefri von Goethe's sister. "No wonder their nature is the same," that's what was on Hastora's mind right now.

"To the first-year students, please gather in the field," shouted the principal loudly.

Hearing that, Hastora dragged his suitcase and quickened his pace towards the field. Upon arriving at the field, he immediately stood following the other students in the field. All the students had gathered, the principal continued the message he wanted to convey earlier.

"To the first-year students, the boys' dormitory is near the big tree over there. And the girls' dormitory is behind the alchemist's room. You will be given a paper that will contain your room number, and each room will be filled by 4 people."

Hastora was a little disappointed with that. He hoped he would be alone. Hastora raised his hand and started asking.

"Excuse me, principal," said Hastora while raising his hand.

"What's wrong?"

"I want to ask, can one room be filled by one person only?"

"No, one room must be filled with at least 4 people."

"If that's the case, okay, thank you for answering my question."

Everyone was surprised to see Hastora who dared to ask the principal who looked strict. Although her face was beautiful, but she was very firm and tough. People started to ask "who is he? why is he so brave?".

"Haha, you're great, buddy," said Zarafel while laughing lightly.

After that, the principal gave each student a piece of paper containing the number using telekinesis. Hastora seemed to get number 68.

He hurried away from there and walked towards his room while dragging his suitcase. He got on the elevator which was powered by magical energy from the mana crystal. He went to room 68. Upon arriving there, Hastora immediately jumped onto the bed while rolling a little.

"This is comfortable," he said.

While he was comfortably lying down, suddenly someone's voice could be heard from outside. Hastora decided to ignore the sound and just lie quietly on the bed.

"Excuse me! is anyone there?" a teenager with light green hair could be heard.

"There is," Hastora replied while still lying on the bed.

Not long after, two more voices could be heard from outside. They entered, opened the door and entered the room.

"Wow! there's already someone," said a teenager with brown hair with a big and muscular body.

"You're right, there's already someone," said the orange-haired teenager.

They closed the door and walked closer to Hastora and the light green-haired teenager earlier. They didn't look like bad people. The muscular teenager smiled broadly, he immediately introduced himself.

"Hello! my name is Toru Grahapena. And the orange-haired teenager next to me is Arnold von Hasters."

"Woah! you're Arnold von Hasters? so, you're the fourth ranking in the entrance test, right?"

"That's right."

After that, the three of them continued the conversation which was quite long. It sounded very noisy, Hastora felt disturbed by it.

"It seems that I got very noisy roommates," he said with a flat expression.
