Chapter 132 - Chapter 132: The Cleric Assessment

Thinking of this, Dudian fell into deep thought.

After a while, the carriage arrived at a remote small town on the outer edge of the commercial area and stopped in front of an ordinary residential house.

Dudian lifted the carriage curtain. The rain had stopped outside, but there was still accumulated water on the ground. He glanced at the house number of this ordinary small building. After confirming it was correct, he sighed softly in his heart. He picked up the bag of gold coins under the chair, got out of the carriage, asked the coachman to wait for a while, then took out the key and entered the small building.

The furniture inside the small building was brand new and complete. Most of it had been prepared for him by the consortium when they allocated the house to him. However, during the time he was training, a thick layer of dust had accumulated in the room.

"I need to hire a few servants." Dudian touched the dust and threw the bag of gold coins into the safe in the small building. This was a new safe, and he set a new password for it himself.

Dong~~!

The old swinging clock hanging on the wall rang.

Dudian looked at the time. It was exactly 8 o'clock in the evening. Curfew would start in an hour. He immediately locked the door, left the small building, got back into the carriage, and returned to the Hunter Headquarters.

The next day.

Dudian got up on time. Just as he came to the cafeteria to have breakfast, he felt that some of the other early-rising trainees were secretly glancing at him and whispering.

However, even though they deliberately lowered their voices, he could still hear them clearly due to his sharp hearing.

"I didn't expect that by getting associated with Glary, he's become a little celebrity." The corners of Dudian's mouth twitched. He got a serving of breakfast and quickly finished it. Then he went to the Scatter Shot training ground and continued yesterday's training.

The two servants responsible for assisting him with archery practice had been waiting there early and helped Dudian prepare the arrows.

With their help in transporting the arrows, Dudian could focus his mind on the training, and the efficiency increased by at least double.

The young instructor came earlier today. He watched Dudian's practice from the side and gave instructions from time to time. Seeing that Dudian grasped the techniques quickly, he was very satisfied. After Dudian had mastered the basic essentials of the Scatter Shot, the instructor assigned him today's task quota and then left.

Since absorbing more than a hundred Frost Crystals, Dudian's physical constitution had long exceeded the young instructor's estimation. The task assigned by the instructor was easily completed by Dudian around 3 o'clock in the afternoon.

Thinking of the recruitment of the Tribunal in a few days, Dudian didn't continue practicing. After leaving the training ground, he took a carriage and came to the front of a small branch of the Tribunal nearby. Although it was a branch, the building was magnificent. It was as grand as the Scavenger Headquarters. Just the steps at the entrance were eighteen stories high.

Dudian immediately stepped forward to inquire.

"That's right. The recruitment of apprentice clerics will be held in Bol Square in five days. If you want to join, you should go and pass the preliminary examination first." The guard said.

Dudian immediately took note of it, thanked the guard, and left. Then he took a carriage and went to the residential area.

It was already dusk at this time. Jula and her husband were both at home and having dinner.

They were a bit surprised and delighted to see Dudian come back. After a series of concerned inquiries, Dudian said to them, "The house in the commercial area is already prepared. I came back this time to take you there. If you don't want to live in the commercial area for the time being, you can go with me to the commercial area to get a temporary residence permit first. Then you can go there whenever you want."

Jula was filled with relief and gratitude and agreed with a smile.

Gray smiled and said, "Your aunt has always been reluctant to leave here. She has lived here for too long and is familiar with the neighbors around. That's why she doesn't want to leave."

Dudian nodded. He knew Jula's personality. After all, she was nostalgic.

The next day.

Dudian called for a carriage and took Jula and her husband to the commercial area. He helped them get the temporary residence permit and also took them to see the new house by the way.

Jula and her husband were extremely satisfied. Although the house was in a small town on the outskirts of the commercial area, it was still much better than the house they lived in the residential area.

Dudian took out a hundred gold coins from the safe and gave them to Jula along with the house key, asking them to take care of the arrangements themselves.

Around 9 o'clock, Dudian finally rushed to the training ground. The young instructor saw that he was late and criticized him severely, and then asked for the reason.

Dudian told the truth.

After hearing the explanation, the young instructor's expression softened a bit. Then he increased the task quota by one-third as a punishment.

While training, Dudian recalled his knowledge of the law in his mind. The position of a cleric was like a protective talisman for him. With this position, he would no longer be an ordinary commoner!

Although he was a Hunter now and seemed to be in a good position, his identity was still that of a commoner.

Being a commoner meant that if he died, apart from the Mellon Consortium feeling sorry, it wouldn't cause much of a stir in the outside world. This also meant that the risk of killing him wasn't very high.

In the blink of an eye, a day passed.

Dudian still completed the task quota assigned by the young instructor around 3 o'clock in the afternoon. This also showed that his proficiency in archery had increased by one-third!

Five days passed quickly.

During the day, Dudian practiced the Scatter Shot archery technique to improve his speed, accuracy, and precision. At night, he found some law books in the library and went back to his room to review them. He stayed up until around 12 o'clock at night every day and only slept for six hours.

"Instructor, I want to take a day off." Dudian changed into ordinary clothes and found the young instructor on the training ground and said.

The young instructor saw his attire and frowned, asking, "Where are you going?"

"I have some personal matters. They are quite important." Dudian said.

The young instructor looked at him, snorted coldly, and said, "Go ahead. But I'll keep record of today's task quota."

Dudian was overjoyed and quickly thanked him. Then he turned around and left in a hurry.

The five people beside him were stunned. One of them reacted and quickly said, "Instructor, I also want to take a day off."

"Get lost!"

...

...

Dudian jumped onto the carriage and asked the coachman to drive at full speed towards Bol Square.

Half an hour later, the carriage arrived at the street outside Bol Square and stopped.

Dudian heard the noisy sounds outside. He lifted the carriage curtain and took a look, and was immediately shocked. The street was packed with people, and the carriages were lined up like a long dragon. These people were obviously here to take the cleric examination.

"So many people!" Dudian felt a bit of pressure. He jumped out of the carriage and squeezed forward through the crowd.

Although he was taller than his peers, he was much smaller compared to strong adults. He quickly weaved through the crowd like an eel. On the way, a hot-tempered strong man was carrying a girl on his shoulder, seemingly wanting to push his child to the front. When Dudian squeezed past him closely, he was jostled. The strong man immediately flew into a rage and started yelling at a young man behind him.

The young man was stunned and a bit confused by the scolding.

Halfway through squeezing, Dudian suddenly saw a delicate carriage in the long line of carriages beside him, which looked very familiar. He immediately remembered seeing it on that rainy night.

"It's her!" Dudian was delighted in his heart. At the same time, among the chaotic smells of the crowd, he smelled the fragrant scent of the other person. He immediately squeezed through the crowd and moved towards the carriage.

A knight in full armor beside the carriage saw Dudian approaching and immediately raised his hand indifferently, saying, "Step back!"

Dudian immediately stopped and shouted loudly towards the carriage, "Jenny!"

His voice was mixed in with the crowd. After shouting several times, the carriage curtain was lifted. Jenny looked at Dudian, who was swaying from side to side in the crowd beside her, with a surprised expression. She was both surprised and delighted and said, "It's you?"
