When Seo-Yeon opened her eyes, she was greeted by a white ceiling. An IV needle was embedded in her hand, and the drops from the bottle fell slowly traveling through the line into her veins.
She felt her legs heavy and numb for some reason. When she tried to move her legs it felt as if a heavyweight was on it.
She slowly lifted her head to look at the cause.
Two little buns were sleeping with their heads lying on each of her legs.
How familiar...
The little girl with two cute buns on her head was facing toward Seo-Yeon.
Her little mouth was slightly open, with a drool coming out to sook her hospital gown.
The boy was facing the other side, his tiny hands clutching the fabric in his fist.
They looked so cute together, Seo-Yeon wanted to sequel at their cuteness.
When they were being kidnapped, they were like scaredy cats.
They were so afraid of her, even shivering with fright when she tried to touch them.
She thought they would run away when she collapsed.
Was it because she was unconscious that they would let their guard down and feel like I was not a threat?
They were just like a cat that sneakily snuggles up to your side by itself, even climbing into your lap to sleep.
She was about to reach out her hand to touch their head a knock was heard.
Seo-Yeon turned around to look at the noise, a person dressed in a luxurious suit was standing at the ward door.
Was he the father of these children?
But he looked a little old to be their father.
Who was he?
The man came in when Seo-Yeon didn't say anything. She was stifling like a statue, looking at the man as he approached her.
"Are you the father of these children?"
Seo-Yeon asked the man trying to know about the man.
"No..."
"Then did you admit me to the hospital?"
"No..."
He was not the father, he was not the man who helped her and admitted her to the hospital, Could he be...
"Then are you the kidnapper who came to take the children away?"
Seo-Yeon unconsciously pulled the children toward her, hugging them to her chest. She looked worriedly at the intruder.
Her heart was pounding rapidly in her chest. She feels her head throb with pain.
"..."
The man raised his hands reaching toward the children.
"You bast*rd, stay away from my child" Seo-Yeon shouted at the man hugging the kids tightly.
Her head hurts so much, that her vision is starting to blur as well. She should protect the children. She should...
She threw a bottle of medicine at the side of the table towards the man before her consciousness drifted away.
The two little buns stirred awake because of the suffocation. They tried to struggle free from the grip only for it to tighten further.
The baby girl started crying because of the pain.
"Shush, shush, shush, baby don't cry. Berry is a good girl, right? Mommy is here. Mommy will protect you."
Seo-Yeon's eyes were glassed, as she muttered consoling the child. The little bun on the right hand stayed stiff his eyes wide looking at Seo-Yeon.
His eyes were dry, but his tight fist betrayed the complicated emotions he felt in his tiny heart.
"Don't cry, don't cry alright. My Berry is the sweetest child. Mommy will protect our berry."
Seo-Yeon kissed the child's head pulling her in.
"Mommy will protect you and your brother Bun. Don't cry okay?"
Seo-Yeon looks up at the man standing in front of her stunned and silent. His outstretched hand hangs in the air. His wide eyes stared at her with astonishment.
She recognized the man.
"Buttler Min?"
The man's eyes grew even bigger than before. The little bun in her arms started shaking.
"Sush, Bun. Don't be sacred. Berry will start crying again." She patted his back still looking at the Buttler Min standing in front of her as if he had seen a ghost.
She sat the bun on her lap, patting his hair softly before focusing on her daughter.
"What happened Berry? Why are you crying? Who hurt you?"
She questioned the girl looking at her body for any injuries. When she didn't find anything she sighed in relief.
"Come here, go back to sleep. Mommy will pat your back and sing you a song. Alright?"
"Shush, go to sleep"
"Close your eyes, my little BerryThe moon is shining in the sky.Drift on clouds so soft and white,I'll hold you safe all through the night."
Seo-Yeon sang a song patting the girl on her back as she rested her head on her shoulder.
She sang till the child fell asleep. The room was eerily quiet. No one disturbed the mother and the child.
The bun sat silently, looking at his mother as she helped her sister to sleep.
"Mommy..."
"Madam..."
Seo-Yeon looked at the duo who called her simultaneously.
"What is it, Bun?" She asked. When he didn't reply she turned to Buttler Min.
"Butler Min, What happened? Why am I in the hospital?"
"M-Madam..."
The Butler shuttered. He was shaking so violently that she was worried he was sick.
"Butler Min, are you sick? Did Mr. Kang force you to work when you are sick?" Seo-Yeon enquired.
When stood silent she turned to Bun who had an equally stunned look on his face.
Seo-Yeon was confused, why are they looking at her like that...
"Why are you both looking at me as if you have seen a ghost?"
"Mommy..."
Seo-Yeon looked at the bun expecting an answer.
"Are you really my mommy?"
What the h*ll...
"Of course Bun. Why are you asking? Don't you recognize your own mother now"
"I do... But you don't look like my mommy"
"I- I don't?" Seo-Yeon was confused. I don't look like myself...
Did I get fat? She felt around her face and indeed found her cheeks a little chubby. Her hands also were a little tanner than her normal skin tone.
It's only been a day, why did she change so much?
"Bun, get me a mirror," Seo-Yeon asked the bun.
Both the mother and the son totally forgot about the stunned butler.
When butler Min came back to his sense he hurried out of the room holding his phone in his hand.
