Chapter 3 - Happy Birthday

[You've turned 17, Happy Birthday. You've now awakened your system. Along with the other 71% of the human race that has unlocked the system, you have too. The system is set to only give you basic knowledge and will grow only after seeing that you've learned what is needed.]

[You have obtained the title: -> Destined Rival(god-rank/Destiny Rank)<-. There is only one other person in the world who possesses the exact same title and that person is your Destined Rival.]

The system was one of the various things along with magic that existed since before humans despite the fact that they both break the very laws of this world.

Looking at the system I immediately go to the most important and integral part that the system plays in the countless power shifts that occur.

The status window. A screen that displayed your strength, speed, intelligence, and magic prowess.

Strength is more about your muscles whilst speed encompasses not just how fast you are but also things like dexterity, stamina and agileness. Intelligence doesn't actually increase your IQ or smartness but your ability to learn and adapt to things quickly.

Out of all of them intelligence is seen as the most important to put your stats in.

SP, or status points, are undetermined points which can be put into any one of the four main stats(Strength, speed, intelligence, magic) or some of the sub-stats in order to increase ones mastery in that criteria.

The problem is the system can only be used by the 71% of the population who has magic, the difference in power between the 30% of people who couldn't use magic was already big but with the system's support that gap grew bigger.

Until the Humanitarian Democracy stepped in a provided all the people who didn't have magic special martial arts in order to give them a sliver of protection against those who had magic.

"Hey,hey. You still there." Mysterious voice.

"Yes, I'm still here, and even if I wanted to I couldn't." I responded to the same voice I'd heard yesterday.

"I guess not...They're about to come seems like our free time is up." Mysterious Voice

The mysterious guy or girl I'd been talking to was the same person from yesterday who made a small hole in the wall. We'd talked a lot since he was the only person I could talk to and I was the only person he could talk to, but I still hadn't gotten his name.

He wasn't just some random person as well, he was the person who held the ventilation of the south and the person who allowed me to breathe and continue living. He was the person who could end my life by simply blocking a few holes.

The armor heavy guards unlocked my cell with a special code I couldn't see due to the pad being purposefully put in a way I couldn't see what they did on it, only that their hands were moving.

Before the guards could open the door I checked my stats.

Strength: 2

Speed: 3

Intelligence:22

Magic:0

SP:5

Appalling to say the least. My status were all just as good as dumpster garbage, all except for my intelligence which stood at a whopping 22.

If my intelligence is that high it shouldn't be too hard for me to learn anything including magic which was the thing that was on the same level as a magicless person.

Swoosh.

The large glass window that stood at the front of my cell slid open as I was pulled out by at least 3 or 4 guards before being led to the courtyard and being forced to work.

The mysterious person in the cell next to me had also been dragged out similar to me. the person had long, extremely long, black hair that went down to their achilles, their hair black hair then went under a drastic change near the bottom as the black color almost instantly changes to blonde white.

Their long hair made it impossible to see their eyes let alone get a guess about their gender and their lowly hanged head didn't help either.

In the courtyard we were given tasks such as skinning animals, moving heavy objects from one place to another, catching wild animals whilst being extremely observed and entirely surround as well much much more.

It seemed the prison life was much easier than I expected despite running into hundreds of intimidating people, who I didn't even dare to talk to, it was more regular than I expected especially for the most dangerous prison.

*****

Standing in my cell with my face behind the glass that was more formidable than the black steel exterior, I realized why it was the most dangerous prison. You can't trust anyone here because if they decide to block your air then it's over.

Senithan walked to his bed and laid down before he closed his eyes and thought for a second.

'Wait. Wasn't I supposed to be sent to a prison so that I wouldn't cause havoc for the Humanitarian Democracy, so why did they send me to this prison, It's practically a death sentence.'

'Unless that's exactly what they wanted it to be, a death sentence. They'd disguise my death as the prisoners fault and avoid all blame when in all reality they sent me here for the sole purpose of killing me.'

'The Humanitarian Democracy never wanted to ensure I wouldn't cause any problems, instead they did an unreasonable thing and sent me to a prison that no has the details of so that when I die and the people ask how the son of a hero was killed they can just play it off and say it was all the prisoners fault. Those-'

Ting

Knocking? At this hour and at this place.Who could it possibly be.

'Isabel? Why is she back here, wasn't she talking about wanting to leave this place as soon as possible.'

"I came back to check if you were still alive, I wouldn't want the thing I just put in prison to be dead the next day."

"Anyway, this is the actual last time I'll be coming here. I don't have any free time after especially with what's happening out there and the spread of that wild prophecy."

Isabel continued

"Since I know I won't be able to hear what you have to say due to this glass I'll just be heading out now. Bye bye."

Isabel walked away with the lingering wave.
