Opal POV
It was a long night after being freed from the tomb and we finally made it back to our room Damon wouldn't let me leave his arms at all. We just cuddled as I listened to him tell me about his life over the last 145 years of me being locked in a tomb. He admitted to turning off his emotions in the 50's due to an organization called Augustine. I have to admit I am concerned about them especially with the baby on the way. We talked about our fears, our hopes and even some baby names. We even talked about Jasper and how much we both miss my snarky big brother. I wish I knew what happened to him but after news of his disappearance and then Katherine coming to town I had no time to find out more information. Damon promised to help me look up whatever information we could find to help me come to terms with his loss. He even showed me the pictures of all of us together. He managed to secure them and our house before he left Mystic Falls the first time. He also still owns our old house after all these years and has kept it clean and well looked after with no one the wiser. I was so happy when he told me I kissed him senseless because my husband thought of me even when he though I was gone. I looked up at him with tears in my eyes and said, "Can we go see our house tomorrow I miss it. Don't get me wrong this house is fine and all but that house is ours. It was my dream home because we picked everything that was in it together, I wouldn't mind living there even now with just us and our little one. What do you think my love can we?" I looked up at him with my chin resting on his chest and a pleading look in my eye waiting for his answer. I knew the second he agreed with me before he even had to open his mouth so I kissed him and squealed in excitement before I said, "Thank you, thank you, thank you! You my kind sir are the best husband a girl could ever ask for." His grip around my waist tightened while he peppered my face in kisses of his own while he chuckled at my antics.
Damon POV
I am so lucky to have this woman as my wife was all I could think as I peppered her with kisses. I can't wait to make sure the baby is ok so that I can know it's safe to ravage my wife for the first time in over a century. It was almost physically painful to fall asleep and be separated from her if only in my dreams after being apart for so long but she needs her rest and so do I. I woke up with a jolt at her screams as the sunlight hit her arms from the open window I rushed to close the drapes as she cradled her arm to her chest. "Love are you alright?" I asked at a whisper, she sniffled and nodded before showing me her already healed arm. I pulled her into my chest and held her for a while before I said, "I will run to Shelia to see if she will make a daylight ring for you so that this never happens again. Are you going to be ok staying here while I go out?" She nodded and kissed my lips before she said, "Just hurry back before I miss you to much." I chuckled at her and rushed through getting ready so I could handle this business before she misses me.
I made it to Sheila's house and heard her talking to Bonnie from the inside so I knocked on the door and waited for the witch to answer it. She looked tired when she came to the door and looked at me with caution. I offered her my hand as that was the easiest way for her to see who I truly am. She hesitated for just a moment before she took it making sure she was still on the other side of the threshold before she did. She let out a gasp when she saw my life in all it's gory glory before a single tear fell from her eyes. She wiped it away but said "Come in Damon" Bonnie's jaw dropped as she saw her grandmother invite me into her home and shot a glare at me to which I just shrugged. Sheila motioned for me to sit and then she asked "Why are you hear Damon?" I sighed because I knew I could never lie to her she reminded me to much of Emily and even if I hated Katherine, I liked Emily. I looked her straight in the eyes and said, "When I was turned Emily told me to have faith that my love would be returned to me, she promised to help me find her. I didn't know what she meant until last night when I found my wife in the tomb. I have protected Emily's family for 145 years because of her promise and I am glad I did." I looked at Bonnie and said, "I apologize for hurting you when Emily took control of your body, I was hurt and afraid I would never get revenge on Katherine for what she did to me. I needed her to tell me what she did to my wife and when the talisman was destroyed all hopes of finding her were lost. In that moment it was to much, I lashed out and for that I apologize. Opal has thoroughly chastised me for it by the way. That brings me to why I am here, I know you owe me nothing but Opal has done nothing to anyone. She was a victim of Katherine and I ask that you help me in giving her, her life back a life that was stolen from her by Katherine and in small part Emily as well. I need a daylight ring for my wife who fought against Katherine, she would do it herself but her grimoires don't have the spell to create one. Only a Bennett has the spell. If you can't do it would you at least be willing to give her the spell so that she can do it for herself."
Sheila paused for a second taking in what I said and Bonnie looked puzzled probably because of all the lies Stephan and Elena have been feeding her about me. Sheila looked me in the eyes and said, "How can your wife still do magic if she is a vampire?" I sigh knowing that this is information I have to part with in order to gain a daylight ring for Opal so I look at Sheila and say, "My wife is a siphon witch. She doesn't channel from the ancestors she siphons magic from outside sources such as other magical creatures, and even nature if there is a high enough concentration. Because of this she was able to hold onto her magic even after the change." Sheila nodded in understanding while Bonnie looked on in shock. Sheila's next question shocked me when she asked, "Is she fully trained or does she still need to learn control of her gifts? I can help her if she is interested." I smiled at the witch as I said, "She is fully trained her mother taught her and her brother before she passed. She would love to talk with you about magic though and she will probably have to work on her control again given that she is a vampire now and has been stuck in that god forsaken tomb her entire vampire life thanks to Katherine." Sheila nodded at this and said, "Let me get Emily's spell book I will have Bonnie perform the spell, I am still weak from last night. Do you have a lapis lazuli ring or something for us to spell?" I nodded and pulled a bracelet from my coat pocket I had stopped by mine and Opal's house to get it before heading over here. Bonnie took it from me and examined it before she said, "At least it doesn't look ugly." Sheila looked at her in shock while I just laughed at her knowing that Opal would have said something similar to that, although she would have been more discreet in her critiques.
