Chapter 2 - The Day the World Changed

The sun shone brightly over the city, its golden rays reflecting off towering skyscrapers, bustling streets, and the endless movement of people below. It was a world of ambition, technology, and dreams—one where the vastness of the universe remained a mystery, and the existence of gods was little more than a matter of faith.

Among the billions living in this vast world, one young man walked the crowded streets, his mind occupied with thoughts he couldn't quite understand. His name was Kael Veyron, and for as long as he could remember, he had always felt… different.

It wasn't arrogance, nor was it baseless self-importance. It was simply a feeling, an innate knowledge that he did not belong. Something about him was different—his mind worked in ways he couldn't explain, his instincts sharper than others, his reactions swifter. Yet, despite this, he was ordinary. He had no special talents, no extraordinary skills, and most importantly… no powers.

Ever since humanity awakened to the existence of 'Evolvers'—those who could harness supernatural abilities through the mysterious viruses that swept across the world—Kael had been tested numerous times. Each test had returned the same result.

No mutation. No power. No potential.

He had accepted it. He had tried to live a normal life. But deep down, he knew something was wrong. And he was right.

---

It started with the sky.

On what was supposed to be an ordinary day, the world stopped. The clouds darkened unnaturally, shifting as if something colossal lurked behind them. The air turned dense, suffocating, pressing against the skin like an unseen force. Then, the first scream rang out.

Kael turned just in time to see a man collapse, his body convulsing violently as his veins darkened. All around him, others began to fall, their forms twisting in agony. Then came the first transformation. Flesh twisted. Bones cracked. Eyes burned with an unnatural glow as humans turned into something other—something monstrous.

Panic exploded through the city. People ran in every direction, some desperately seeking shelter, others trying to fight back. But it was futile. The infected were strong—inhumanly strong. Bullets barely slowed them down, and those who fell to their claws rose again as something new, something even more terrifying.

Kael grabbed his girlfriend's hand—Elyra, the one person who had always stood by him, the one person he couldn't afford to lose. "Run!" he shouted, weaving through the chaos, his heart pounding. Buildings collapsed. Streets cracked open. It was as if the apocalypse had arrived in a single breath.

But no matter how fast they ran, fate was cruel.

A massive figure landed in front of them, its monstrous form blocking their path. It had once been a man, but now, it was an abomination—its body swollen with unnatural muscles, its eyes glowing a deep crimson. It exuded power, an overwhelming presence that sent terror into Kael's bones.

He moved on instinct, pushing Elyra behind him, his arms spread wide. He had no power. No weapon. But he would not let her die.

The monster roared, its massive claw swinging toward him. Time seemed to slow. His mind screamed. This was it. This was the end.

And then—

Something snapped.

Pain unlike anything he had ever felt erupted from within him. His vision blurred, his body seized, and in that moment—

A flood of memories surged through him.

A throne of stars.

The weight of time itself in his grasp.

A name spoken in reverence and fear alike.

The God of Time. The Eternal Sovereign. The One Above All.

It was him. It had always been him.

And with that realization, the seals that bound him shattered.

The world twisted, reality bending to his will as the unstoppable power he had once abandoned returned to him in full force. And the first thing he did—

Was rewrite time itself.

---

Kael opened his eyes, gasping for breath. The sky was clear. The streets were intact. The city was alive.

He was back.

Back to the day before the end began.

And this time, he would not be powerless.
