Chapter 7 - Unspoken Destination

[Nyxholme City, Main Coast Section III]

Elon and Diana had already entered the main city of Nyxholme.

It was a beautiful and peaceful city surrounded by leaves and trees. The city was known for its unimaginable style and culture towards nature.

The people believe they were blessed by mother nature herself, making them name the city Nyxholme—meaning full of forest.

Although that wasn't the most admirable thing about this place for Elon.

For every corner he looked at, people used various methods of working.

Some used fire from their fingers to light the wood for cooking, another used what seemed to be controlling the air, to lift goods into a carriage, and another produced water out of thin air to cover their crops.

Elon was astonished by this scenery. It was nothing like he had ever seen. The place was filled with various styles of living and working,

and with this, he was certain that this was indeed not earth.

"Is this magic?"

Elon spoke out from his thoughts.

"What? Magic? What's that?"

Diana asked.

However, Elon seemed confused. He was certain that it had to be magic that these people were using to cast such spells.

"Magic. You know the ability to cast magical spells through the use of mana?"

Elon explained to Diana although she stared at him with no clue whatsoever on what he was talking about.

'Doesn't she not know what it is?'

At this point, they were both standing in front of a meat shop. It was labeled at the top, crunched beef and meat.

Elon saw this and was surprised. He could read their language. It was the same as the one he knew from earth.

'Come to think of it. I can also communicate with the person of this place. We both speak the same language. Are they linked to earth by any chance?'

Elon was puzzled, he wouldn't tell if he was the one that knew their language or if it was them who knew his language.

However, there was nowhere he was going to get any answers from just standing there and looking.

He then turned to Diana and saw how hard she was staring at him.

"What?"

"Oh nothing, I was just thinking of what you said." Diana responded.

"What… I said?"

"Yes. It didn't make any sense. But I did understand what you were talking about."

At the moment, Diana had her hand on her chin as she said this.

"Where exactly are you from?"

"Uh…?"

"I said where are you from?"

This came as a shock to Elon. He knew that she was soon to ask him such a question again,

however it didn't expect it to be this soon, because he hadn't found an actual excuse for her yet.

Diana stared straight into his eyes, waiting for a response, however at this moment, Elon was overwhelmed,

he knew he didn't have any response for her yet, so all he could do at this moment was think of something at the spot.

His heart was racing.

"Well. It doesn't matter. Let's just get this over with." Diana mumbled with a stern tone, as she tried if waiting.

Sigh~

Elon sighed.

He knew was thankful that his heart didn't explode. The question alone was too much for him to take in,

however, adding her daunting expression. It was two weight, enough for his heart to explode.

'I'm alright since she didn't push it. Although what was with that tone of her's?'

Elon was still standing at the front of the beef and meat shop, staring at Diana who had already gone ahead.

'Is she pissed?'

"Hey! Should I wait for you or are you gonna find your destination by yourself?!"

Diana's voice yelled at a far distance as she stared at Elon with that same expression.

Daunting.

'Yup. She is.'

"-"

Before moving forward, Elon stared again at the top of the shop once more. It had no drawn sign on it, so it wasn't the shop he was looking for,

however, he was certain that, just as how the name was placed, so would be the one he's looking for.

After staring at it, Elon then ran after Diana.

_

"Hey we have been walking for about an hour now, and it's getting late. Are you sure you know where we are going?"

Elon asked Diana while they walked. However she paid no attention to him.

She neither gave him a sign of interest or response. It was as if she didn't recognize his presence at all.

'Now she's ignoring me? Does she have a problem with me? Or is she still pissed about me not giving her an explanation earlier?'

"Hey!"

Elon walked to he front of Diana to obstruct her movement, however she walked the other way.

"Come on, say something."

Elon proclaimed, as he moved to her front once more.

However, Diana still didn't give him a response, as she moved to the other clear path.

This was obvious to Elon that she was indeed upset. And to make things worse she was a lady.

He rarely talked to the girls back in earth, while he was in school. Even though he was a smart kid, that drew many people attention,

he had never actually started a conversation with anyone, especially the ladies.

There were the once who came to him,

all just for his smartness. And when they were done with him, they leave him so he never really had any friends.

The only person he related with very well after his parents left, was his grandmother… Agatha.

..

Remembering all these, Elon stopped interfering with Diana's movement.

He then walked side by side with her and kept quiet for a while.

At this point, their movement became awkward, while the air around them became tense.

However this didn't seem to bother any of them. Diana focused on her journey, while Elon staring at the surroundings.

He watches how the people lived and how things were carried out in this city. He also saw a particular area were,

it seemed like there were celebrating something. Curious, he wanted to ask Diana. However with the moody situation she was in,

he decided to keep it to himself.

..

As they walked, Elon began to think of the place they were going to. He wondered how the person he was going to meet would be.

At this thought of this, he brought out the amulet that his grandmother gave him, from within his shirt, and looked at it.

With the sound it made, Diana attention was attracted, as she used a side eye to stare at what Elon was holding.

'What!… Isn't that?!'

Turning to her, Diana immediately took her gaze off Elo,

while he placed the amulet back, within his clothes.

He noticed Diana was staring at him, and removed her gaze when he stared at her.

This made him smile a bit, knowing that she was still interested in him even though she was giving him such attitude.

Knowing this, he decided to give it a try and have her talk to him again.

"Hey… about what those people were earlier what—"

"We are here."

Diana mumbled, cutting Elon short on his question.
