After Silas and his parents spent a few hours diving and playing in the water they changed into their extra set of clothes they brought
Their next objective was to find a herd of deer. After following another trail the family saw a herd of deer resting. As Brandon saw them he slowly approached them, the deer suddenly became on high alert.
As Brandon slowly approached the explained the Silas aloud "you know there is a special type of deer native to these woods, they are called Serine deers. They have developed an incredible ability to sense danger and harm from others so they run away quickly" just as it seemed they were going to run away Brandon touched one and started slowly petting it "however if you show no harm or ill intentions these guys become the friendliest things out their" just as Brandon said this all the deers that were on high alert calmed down and started relaxing again
Seeing this Silas couldn't help but think of the easy to frienten and run away deer from blue star. Watching his dad slowly stroke the deer while feeding it an apple he got somewhere along the way made Silas really want to try as well
Imitating his father, Silas slowly approached the deer while holding his hands up as if trying to say he had no bad intentions. Slowly but surely Silas got closer until he was able to pet the deer. Petting the deer felt amazing to him as if he was connecting to nature itself
Watching Silas petting the deer with such enthusiasm Brandon said "Are you ready for the second activity of the day? It's going to be deer racing!" As Brandon said that the deer he was peeing stood up and he quickly hopped on its back
"Don't worry about hurting the deer, these guys are as strong as your average horse so it will be fine to ride them"Brandon said
Seeing his father get on the deer Silas tried to do the same but he was too short to jump on its back. Failing to get on the deer Silas was starting to get really frustrated, that was until he felt some hands grab him and gently put him on the deer
"You will be riding with me!" Lily said with a smile
Getting on herself she maneuvered the deer to follow Brandon
"Alright Brandon how about we race back to the waterfall" Lily said with a little bit of competitive spirit in her voice
"Ok let's do it!" Brandon flashed back with an equally competitive tone "Silas will you start the countdown"
"Sure" Silas said with excitement "3, 2, 1 Go!"
The moment Silas said go the deers launched forward with an unexpected speed as they maneuvered around the trees with ease. The other deers of the herd seeing two member going off on their own in such speed decided to follow they so they don't separate
If someone was passing by they would be horrified at the sight of two people riding deers while a stampede of deer chase from behind
Feeling the current of air on his face Silas felt extremely exhilarated he himself was quite the competitive guy so winning against such a arrogant person was always felt the best and his dad fit that role perfectly
Turning quickly around a bolder Silas saw a flash of white and a quiet whimper. Seeing this Silas instantly stopped the race
"Mom, I saw something weird just now. Can we go check it out?" Silas pleaded
Seeing this Lily complied instantly to the son's pleading eyes. Turning the deer around she walked back to when they were turning around the bolder. As they were moving in that direction Silas once again heard that small whimper.
Following that sound Silas quickly got off the deer and tried to follow the sound of the whimpers. as he got closer he found a little white fox curled up whimpering in a little hole in the base of a tree
Lily following Silas also saw the fox and shouted "Brandon get over here quick!"
As Brandon arrived he also saw the fox and was shocked
Silas, who was currently crouched down, tried to get closer to the fox. The little fox sensed this and raised it head to him. Seeing the sudden shift in movement Silas was able to get a good look at it. It was a pure white snow fox with pitiful looking blue eyes.
Looking into the foxes' pitiful eyes, Silas couldn't help but extend his hand. Seeing the hand coming its way the fox instantly started rubbing up against it.
Seeing this Brandon crouched down right next to Dilas and said "looks like this little guy was terrified of being all alone. It was so scared, " Brandon said with a look of pity on his face "Hey Silas, how about we keep him as a pet?"
Turning to look at his father he had a serious expression on his face. Hearing his fathers suggestion he wasn't entirely against it however he was a little curious as to why his father instantly suggested
"Okay, let's do it" Silas said as he slowly picked up the fox into his arms. Feeling it was being picked up the fox snuggled comfortably into the arms and fell asleep
After picking up the fox the family got back on the deer and rode back to the waterfall to have lunch
After lunch the day was starting to come to a close so the family got back on the deer and headed in a particular direction. When Lily and Brandon got to their destination they dismounted.
They were currently in front of an ancient oak tree that stood tall compared to all the other trees. On one of the tree branches there was a platform with a few chairs and a big table all made of wood. It was here that he would open his presents.
Climbing onto the wooden platform Silas sat on one of the wooden seats while his parents sat on the others. Seeing the sun start to set and paint the clouds a bright color of orange Silas felt as if this was a truly majestic scene.
As the sun was setting Silas saw both his mom and dad grab a leaf from the branch and bring it up to their mouths, soon a beautiful song was being played and it seemed to match the view of the sunset perfectly. Hearing this melody the little white fox woke up and looked around
Seeing this Brandon said "have you decided what you want to name him?"
"Hmmmmm, since his fur is as white as snow and his eyes are blue let's call him winter" Silas suggested
As night descended thousands of firefly's started to cluster around his family as if they were naturally drawn to them creating a night time light show
After watching the beautiful lights for a while Silas finally opened his presents. Most of them were popular toys for children, some of the other presents were books about legends from the land.
Although Silas didn't have much interest in the toys he was very interested in the books. His favorite types of books were action books that depicted certain legends about the land.
Even though he wasn't very interested in the toys he still thanked his parents because he knew they got it just for him.
Thinking back on how much fun he had today while watching the fireflies Silas felt as if he somehow developed a deep love for nature and the forest
"Hey dad can I play in the forest after today"Silas asked in an almost trance like state
Hearing this Brandon's smile almost dropped "Absolutely no way Silas you just turned 8 the only reason we did this today was because both me and your mother were here." After thinking about it for a bit Brandon said "I will only let you play in the forest by yourself when you grow older or if you show you are strong enough to be safe while in the forest"
Just like that the day ended and the family returned home with a new family member
At night Silas was thinking back on the day, he was thinking back on how much fun he had in the forest. On blue star he spent his entire life in the concrete jungle so he never experienced the forest in person. The thought of nature made him feel both excited and happy. Then he thought back to how his father said he wouldn't let him let him go into the forest until he was old enough or he proved he was strong enough. Thankfully Silas knew exactly how to get strong enough
This is something he was supposed to do for a while now. He was going to become a martial artist!
In his past life he was born into a martial artist family so he became very proficient at controlling his qi and fighting at a young age.
The only reason he didn't start practicing as a baby was because he was afraid he might somehow mess up the growth of his body, after all no baby has ever become a martial artist before so he didn't know the side effects.
Now that he was eight he was confident that he wouldn't mess his body up in any way.
Early the next morning as the sun was about to rise Silas went out to one of his favorite spots in the village. It was a singular tree with a small pond. Silas loved this spot because it was always so tranquil and anyone hardly came here it was also very close to his house
Now it was time to start the training!
