"You know what? Fuck you, system screen. You don't matter."
I waved the floating blue interface away and turned back to the mirror. If this was my new body, I might as well check myself out.
The reflection staring back at me was younger.
Asian, too.
Huh.
I looked about fifteen, give or take. Definitely younger than I was before.
But the biggest differences?
Way better looking than my last body.
And, most importantly—
I wasn't as flat as before.
Still pretty flat.
But less flat.
Progress.
I took a step closer, tilting my head as I examined my new face. My skin was clear, my eyes were slightly more prominent than before, and my hair, now a dark blue, fell in soft waves around my shoulders.
"yeah no, i'd definitely fuck my self if I could... good hair colour too."
Then, as if offended by my blatant disregard, the screen blinked aggressively before popping up right in front of my face.
[Hey! Don't ignore me.]
"AHH!"
I yelped and stumbled backward, nearly tripping over my own feet.
The screen stared at me.
[._.]
I scowled. "Don't give me that. You jumpscared me."
Then, something clicked in my brain.
"Wait… you can respond back?"
[Yes, I am the very, very helpful sy—]
"Don't care."
I held up a hand and yawned, cutting it off mid-sentence.
The screen paused.
[:0 Well fuck you too. Fine.]
The text flickered before shifting.
A loading bar appeared, pulsing as new text formed beneath it.
[Loading…]
[Gacha system fully loaded.]

I stared at the screen, dumbfounded.
Then, the shock slowly sank in.
"Holy shit. A gacha system!?"
That shock barely lasted a second before it soured into annoyance.
"Oh, wait. A gacha system."
My eye twitched as I dragged a hand down my face.
"Is this a joke? Is my last life a fucking joke? Out of all the possible systems, cheat systems, shop systems, even a basic stat window screen, I got this. Fucking gacha."
I let out a slow, deep sigh, my soul already exhausted.
"I have had enough of Lady Luck giving me the finger. It is annoying, and I hate it. Fuck."
I flopped onto the bed, staring blankly at the ceiling. The system screen still hovered in my vision, waiting.
Then, I shot back up, shaking off my previous apathy. "Fine, fine, what is the worst that could happen? Hopefully, the system is not money hungry with shitty rates like every other gacha that exists. Man…" I muttered, rubbing my temples.
I turned my attention back to the floating text, eyes narrowing at the synchronization prompt. Fully synchronize with my body? That sounded important. My limbs still felt a little off, like wearing a hoodie one size too big. If this would fix that, then whatever. Might as well get it over with.
I inhaled deeply and focused on the word. "Yes."
All strength left my body as I crumpled like a used napkin. Everything went dark again. Was I asleep? Unconscious? Or did I just die?… again. Maybe?
---
My eyes shot open, and I took a sharp breath.
"Wow, that's… huh."
I sat up slowly, blinking as a flood of knowledge filled my mind. Memories that were not mine, places I had never seen, or wait, I had? people I had never met. It took me a second to realize what was happening.
"This must be… this body's memories."
I clutched my head as the information settled, piecing itself together. It was not overwhelming, more like watching a fast-forwarded recap of someone else's life.
Memories of childhood surfaced first. Getting my quirk at four, realizing my quirk was better than most kids my age (I mean, come on, tf is noodle hands gonna do?), and riding the high of that for a while. Being the center of attention, praised by teachers, admired by classmates.
Then, the crash.
My parents, murdered right in front of me. The warmth of their presence was replaced by the cold reality of their absence. The funeral was a blur, faces I barely recognized offering empty condolences, whispering behind my back about what would happen to me now.
I left school for a while after that. Not because I wanted to, but because everything became a mess. Legal procedures, custody battles, endless meetings with people in suits who pretended to care.
Eventually, I was handed over to my so-called uncle, a wealthy man who barely acknowledged my existence. He did not want a kid. He wanted to fulfill a legal obligation and move on. And move on he did, abandoning me in a house I barely knew, with money being wired to me every month like a paycheck for existing.
By the time I returned to school, I was different. The excitement, the energy, the drive I once had—it was gone. I stopped trying, stopped caring. Now, just a person only interested in their own entertainment
People noticed, of course. The once-popular kid with had completely changed in a single holiday. I was still there, still getting good grades, still acknowledged, but no one really bothered anymore. No one knew how to approach me, and honestly, I preferred it that way.
I became "that student." The lazy one. The one who never studied but still aced exams. The one who showed up, did what was required, and left. No clubs, no social circles, no unnecessary interactions. Just enjoying my own personal life at home. A true introverted individual, hating most interaction with anyone else.
Then something hit me.
Quirk? Heroes? Villains? All Might?
Wait.
"Goddamn it, I'm in the MHA verse," I muttered.
I let that realization sink in for a moment before shrugging. "Actually… that's not so bad, compared to most anime at least."
I leaned back against the bedframe, thinking it over.
"Yeah, I mean, if you're above average, you'd be pretty much fine. Sure, there's going to be a war, but that's, like… only in Japan. Fleeing the country is always an option."
I exhaled, relaxing a little.
"Compared to shit like Attack on Titan, Berserk, Shadow Slave, Re: Zero, and all the other nightmare-fuel worlds out there, this is pretty tame. hell, even UnOrdinary, a fandom quite similar to MHA, is worse than being here. I guess I got pretty lucky."
Now finished with that, I looked back to the screen, nothing had changed. But that's to be expected.

Looking over it again, I realised that the Combat power that was displayed was actually my quirk. Well, according to my memories anyway.
Kinetic Absorption. That was the name of my quirk.
It was a simple yet ridiculously useful ability. Any kinetic energy that hit my body could be absorbed, stored, and then released in a controlled manner. The more force I took in, the more power I could dish out. According to my memories, there were limits, of course. If I absorbed too much without releasing it, my body would start breaking down. But the potential was insane.
Compared to high-tier quirks like Half-Cold Half-Hot, it was not the flashiest or the most overwhelming in raw power. But if used strategically, I could outmatch almost half of Class 1A. hell, if lucky, I could, if I caught him off guard, could maybe beat bakugo, as his defence isn't enhanced much. If I used a short burst of speed after not using anything. I could hit him in the head and win. But I digress. I'm getting off topic.
Right now, with the amount I could absorb, it could only absorb about 50 punches of force before becomes "full". then I'd have to release. still very strong against those with moderately strong close range quirks.
"i'd say I got pretty lucky, out of all quirks, this isn't OP, buuut it can be."
Looking back at the screen, I realized I didn't need to waste any more time on the detailed breakdown. Skipping past the description, I mentally shoved the overwhelming info aside. "Alright, let's just get this over with," I sighed. The [Gacha] text flickered and expanded, and the screen flipped, changing into something else entirely.
(Author's input) cause you word vomited before about every single thing that is to know about it.)
Next was the gacha, option and... "well, let's get it over and done with now." the [Gacha] text flickered before expanding, and the screen flipped over and changed into something else.

I stared at the screen for a moment, processing everything before I opened my mouth to ask, "Why the h—"
[because fuck you that's why. The gambling is forced, NOW GAMBLE.]
The system, respectfully and kindly answered my question, cutting me off as to not let my self ask unnecessary questions, what a kind soul indead, and because of the systems kind kind words I also responded in kind, with a respectful and kind filled "ok fine, I'll roll..." but then so quietly that not even a bat could hear "bitch" I respectfully, and gracefully cu-said.
"we've done this song and dance so many times before, oh Rngesus. please give me luck." I muttered half heartedly as I now believed that such god, wanted me to suffer in my shitty luck forever. my plee's were never going to be answered.

Congratulations fo----_______
the screen started to glitched and fizzle out, as if it was... getting its ass beaten? like it had fucking died? Then a new screen popped up. colours different, a more white hue.
Due to outside intervention, you have pulled the [epic] rank item [metal pipe]...
The text, now dark like a void, blinked out of existence, as new text filled it in.
I hope you find my gift pleasing; take it as payment for future entertainment. - from your friendly neighbourhood stalker.

A/N sorry for the info dump, I can't help it, I am not a good enough writer to slide it in naturally. aaaaany way. most of the tone for this fic is crack, but if you want some no crack then there will be that too. maybe even some plot... :0 but still haven't gotten like [checks notes on plot. it being a single word] anything useful.
but anyway, if ya see any brackets, its just me, adding my own premium input. where I will be mostly insulting anything that goes on in the fic.
hmm, I think that's all. bye bye now.
