Chapter 9 - You are not my type!

With my mood already bad, I was fuming with rage. I tried my best to not let it cloud my mind but the more seconds passed by, the more I thought of his words, what? I am playing around?

I should be saying that to him, he is the one playing with me!

"Sierra, help me print this document. We need to set a meeting with the boss so look over it, alright?" Vier says, startling me, I nod my head and grab the document, "Just print it? And… I don't know the agenda." I say, confused.

"Oh, those are updates on the project file I shared with you. You read it, didn't you?" He asks, I gasp, I was so occupied in my head that I forgot to revise the file, and I am not so sure of what the file had. I smile, awkwardly, "Um, yeah…" I mumble.

"Then, I will be in my office, print it, and send an email with meeting details and time with an attachment of this file, it's in the computer, access it." He says, giving a small nod. He walks away while I look down at the document and sit down.

"Let's send the mail first." I sit down and stretch my arms as I start typing, I go through the recent files and sort out the files, I attach the said file and then send the mail. I stand up and walk towards the printer, my feet freeze as I remember what happened in this area.

I hated the fact that I blushed.

Clearing my throat, I walk up to the printer and start printing.

—--

I am anxious, I stand beside Veir as I watch him brief the document to him, why do I have to keep facing him?

I was lost in my own mind when I felt Veir push me a little, I flinched and looked ahead to find them both watching me, "What?" I ask, baffled.

I saw Luthien raising a brow, a subtle smirk forming before it disappeared unnoticed, "Miss Damaris? Why does it feel like you really don't care about the job?"

I frown, "Uh? No…s-sir."

"No? Then… where is your mind at?" He asks, stern and rude, and I bite my inner cheeks, trying not to get angry. He has the audacity to ask that, after everything he has said and done.

"Um, sir… she is feeling low today, she had very good insights on this project, some of the ideas pitched were from her." Vier speaks for me, I look at Veir and feel warm, and I can't help but smile a little.

Luthien clenches his fist as he looks between me and him. What's with that look?

"She pitched some ideas, u say?" Luthien speaks, his mood sour.

"Why, can't I?" I said, unconsciously. I widen my eyes, I wasn't supposed to speak, at least not to him when there is someone else watching, fuck.

I hear him scoff, he leans back studying me as I look everywhere but him, "Then… why don't you do better than this… I quite don't like this." He says, throwing the file on the table. I huff, "What?"

"I mean… this is about expanding business. Do you think trying a new market for a new location is affordable? What if you incur more loss than estimated profit?" He questions, I blink my eyes, and he catches me off guard.

"Uh… I sure did mention the new market, but it is not entirely new. You didn't check my idea of utilizing the old concept to drive something new." I say, seeing him lean forward, I add, "Like, if there is already a product that exists, and the public quite loves it…" I look at his expression.

I add, "You bring out another product with the same base but a different outcome, they would get curious and will surely try."

"Or, if production isn't our concern, use our location relevance to drive the product into the new market." I continue.

Vier smiles, nodding, and I keep my eyes on Luthien, who seems to try to study me. I raise my brow, "Don't you think so, boss?" I add.

"Then, how do you plan on adding this not-so-new but different concept? You do realize this is a promotion we do and not production?" He says, leaning ahead, smirking at me.

"Boss, the production is ongoing. If we can come up with any idea to improve promotion from the initial step, they would be more impressed." Vier adds, Luthien scoffs but chuckles, leaning back, "Then, tell me you have really thought of an idea which is good enough for them to think of incorporating it?"

Vier blinks his eyes, startled, but stutters, and I add, "Since the recent product concept is of the regular cosmetic variation… I had studied their ingredients." I add.

Luthien nods, and I continue, "Olive oil, especially the brown one. It is found to be very good for anti-aging and hyperpigmentation. It would be better to incorporate this into the formula, with all the usual ingredients, people will be secure, but with this new additional one, they would be curious enough to try."

Luthein squints his eyes, smiling briefly, he leans ahead, "Well. How do you know of this? Is it good to be advised?" He inquires.

"We pitch an idea, boss. I can assure you that olive oil is a good addition to the formula mixture. All we can do is share and hope they buy it." I tilt my head, "If not, we can just come up with a promotion for their pre-determined product."

Vier nods, "We are already preparing for the concept, since the company is trying a new market, we will make sure the product is relevant to our local roots, for more exposure."

Luthien nods his head, "Very well, then. Go along with both ideas, keep me updated." He says, watching us.

I can't help but feel proud of myself, I felt like I won.

Seeing how he couldn't pick on me, it must have felt like a jab to his ego, huh?

Serves you right, asshole.

Vier nudges me, blinking my eyes, I smile at him and we walk to the door when we hear him clear his throat, "Miss. Damaris." He calls, I frown, "Yes, sir?"

Vier looks in between us, then at m,e and gives a fighting smile. I smile back, and I hear the chair move back, "Stay back for a moment." He says, Vier walks out, I bite my inner cheek and slowly turn around facing him, "Yes, boss?"

I frown as he walks to me, and I step back.

"What do you think you are doing?" He questions, I tilt my head, "What do you think I am doing, boss?"

He scoffs, leaning down as he jabs his hand against the wall, beside my head, making me flinch, "Is this funny to you?"

I frown deeper, "What are you saying?"

"So, him too?" He asks, raising a brow. I grow more baffled and confused, "What do you mean?"

"You-" He sighs, looking away and faces back at me, "Are you planning to flirt with all men in this office? Or who knows what, outside?" He scoffs, poking his inner cheeks making me gasp out loud, not just suprised anymore but offended as fuck.

"Excuse me?!"

"What? I saw how cozy you were with him." He adds, I glare at him, "What does it have to do with you?" I add, pushing him off, "Oh, I am not flirting with you, it's just you are way ahead of yourself… boss." I say, focusing on the last word.

He grits his teeth, "What did you say-"

"Oh, you are not my type, boss. So… let's be professional?" I say, opening the door as I walk off, annoyed was the underestimation of my emotional turmoil, who the fuck does he think he is?

Even if I was flirting, what's it with him?
