I'm so sorry Kaa-sama, but sometimes... she can be a bit mad."
"It's not a problem Minato, not a problem at all. How have things been in your studies?" A beautiful woman with blond hair and golden eyes asked with a tilt of her head. She wore a kimono that didn't cover her shoulders or her cleavage, and her eyebrows were cut short. She had nine fluffy tails behind her and two fox ears on her head, and she had a massive chest size.
Yasaka, the Leader of the Kyoto Yokai.
"This is so amazing! The way Kyubi fur has innate magical properties, and how they can be used for enhancing vitality, this might just be the thing I've been needing. You here that little one, you're going to be born this time." Kushina rubbed her pregnant belly with a affectionate smile on her face. She was experimenting with a potion that would enhance her ability to provide for the child in the womb, and it would allow her to avoid the situation that had happened to her and Minato multiple times.
Miscarraige.
She had miscarried multiple times, and it broke her heart every time to think of the baby that didn't get born. So, she started to experiment with her own body, she changed the structure of her womb, she changed her own genetics slightly. Using her magic and potion making, she made her body as suited for birth as possible... and she still failed to birth a child.
"So, how can this help you two exactly?" Yasaka asked her son and daughter-in-law.
Minato smiled.
"I don't know, I'm an Alchemist, not a Potioneer like Kushina. I never understand what she researched, but I'm happy to see she hasn't given up hope... do you mind explaining Kushina?" Minato asked, since he too was curious.
She nodded.
"Yokai like the Kyubi have very strong maternal instincts, and their bodies are the best suited for childbirth. I have very strong vitality myself, but my body just isn't suited for pregnancy. I'm hoping that by changing my womb while a baby is growing inside of it, I can change both myself and our baby to be better suited to surviving." Kushina explained as she continued her research on Kyubi fur.
Minato smiled.
"... this means your grandchild will have your DNA too Kaa-sama." Minato surmissed after a moment when he understood that. Kushina was going to be manipulating the DNA in her womb, and the baby inside of the womb, so that Yasaka's DNA would be inside of it.
Yasaka looked at Minato for a moment.
"I don't care about that, just because you're adopted, doesn't make you any less my child Minato, and it wouldn't make this child-" Yasaka stated as she reached out and rubbed Kushina's belly. "-any less my grandchild. I'll help in whatever limited ways that I can, though I don't understand any of this potion making stuff." Yasaka had no knowledge of the magic that Kushina learned when she traveled overseas to study.
She wasn't even studied in the same arts as her son was, though apparently Kushina didn't study at the Mage academy in an official way.
"Neither do I, but Kushina enjoys it."
"Unlimited possibilities, magic and potions are only limited by my imagination, you and your alchemy are limited by the science of magic, but not me! I can create anything I want, all I have to do is put the work in to make it!" Kushina shouted with a manical laugh. She took a car battery and attached wires to it, before she put the wires in the potion that she was brewing, and put a few of Yasaka's golden furs into it.
The potion started to make explosive amounts of smoke come out of it, colored in gold, and Kushina had to lean back to not breath the smoke in. She ripped out a few of her own scarlet hairs and fed them into the potion, and it turned even more golden with hints of red swirling inside of it.
Minato laughed as Kushina smelled the smoke, before she recoiled.
"She's very passionate... I would have never thought you would be attracted to a girl like her." Yasaka always expected Minato to be attracted to a girl like herself, who was seductive, but very calm and understanding. Kushina had a temper like fire, a tomboy by nature, and the energy to put a race horse to shame.
She was the human incarnation of nuclear reactor.
Minato just smiled as he sat down with Kushina, and opened his own notebook, and he started to work on formulas for his alchemy. He couldn't help with the potion, but there were many things that he could do to support her.
"I love her passion, it's part of who she is. Give me about a day or two Kushina, and I can develop a Magic Core you can use for your potion. This potion, do you think there will be any side effects?" Minato asked her.
Yasaka watched their chemistry.
She smiled.
"Well, it will take an extra month for our baby to adjust to the intake of new DNA mixing with his own... so my pregnancy will be 10 months instead of 9. Not to mention there is a high chance he will have whisker marks... and he might be more attracted to nature, oh, and giving birth might kill me." Kushina stated without any fear in her voice.
Minato looked at her in worry, before he saw the comforting smile that she offered him, and he gave his own graceful smile in return.
"Well, then I'm going to develop a magical medicine to improve your chances. I'm not going to let you just die like this. Lets bring our daughter into the world-"
"Son, I think we're going to have a son."
"What makes you say that?" Minato asked her with a tilt of his head, and she just grinned at him, a very fox-like smile.
"Mother's Intuition, I just feel it. I'm not afraid of death, because even if I die bringing him into the world, I know you will be there for him to give him my love. When I look into the future in my head, I can only see happiness... that satisfies me... but if you develop something that will let me live, I'm 100% for it." Kushina grinned at Minato, and he grinned right back at her.
Yasaka didn't understand them, but she smiled as she just watched them work, happy to see how passionate they both were.
"I can't wait to hold my grandson." Yasaka couldn't wait for the day that she became a grandmother.
Yasaka woke up from her dream.
"... That memory again..." Yasaka covered her face with her arm, feeling a tear roll down her cheek in her sleep. That was a dream that haunted her a lot, because that was the last day that she had seen Kushina and Minato alive. She never knew what went wrong with the birth of her grandson, but she knew the bodies of her son and daughter-in-law had been brought to her so she could bury them.
She never knew what happened to Naruto, but her yokai who brought her the bodies of her children, were not able to find the body of her grandchild at the scene of their deaths. She didn't know if something horrible happened to him, if he was taken away, or what had happened. It haunted her to this day, and it made the fur on her tail tingle just thinking about it.
Her tail seemed a little off actually.
"Eh?" Yasaka stated when she uncovered her eyes when she actually noticed something touching her tail, and when she leaned up to take a look, she saw a young man leaning over her tail with a buzzer. He had a jar filled to the brim with fur from one of her tails, and her eyes quickly adjusted to the darkness. "Who are you?" Yasaka asked when she saw spiky, golden hair from behind.
The young man froze.
He turned around, and her breath hitched in her chest when she saw those bright blue eyes that belonged to Minato, but the shape of his eyes belonged to Kushina. The shape of his face belonged to Kushina as well, and he had Kushina's fox-like grin. On his cheeks were three whisker marks each, and his scent was familiar to her.
Yasaka wouldn't forget those features.
Naruto Uzumaki and Yasaka made eye contact.
"... Sup... and this is where I make my escape." Naruto stated as he stood up and booked it out of the room. He rushed out of the room, and he tossed a potion into the room. The second the potion smashed against the floor, tentacles grew and started to block her from leaving the room.
Potions?
Yasaka scrambled to her feet a full two minutes after Naruto left, and her breath finally returned to her when everything that she just witnessed hit her full force. Yasaka threw fire towards the tentacles and burnt them to ashes within moments, and she rushed out of the room without even caring that she was naked. She summoned her kimono to herself as she ran, and she followed her sense of smell to chase after Naruto.
"Wait! Come back!" Yasaka yelled in desperation.
"Kaa-sama?"
A smaller, loli-type version of Yasaka with a more thin face, spoke while rubbing her eyes, leaving another room. Yasaka ignored her daughter as she ran through the halls, but a two minute head start was not easy to make up for in a cramped house.
Yasaka caught up with Naruto just in time to see him and some unknown girl already flying away in the distance on the back of some large mix-breed of creatures.
"Naruto! Naruto come back! Please return to me!"
Yasaka's shouts went on deaf ears, Naruto and the unknown girl were far too far away from her to hear her. They had already crossed the Kyoto grounds, so she couldn't even follow them, Yasaka reached out her hand uselessly.
A glimmer of hope was in her eyes.
Not a glimmer, a full shining light existed in her eyes as she watched Naruto vanish in the distance, because even if he escaped, she now knew that he was still alive. She had seen him with her own two eyes.
"Kaa-sama, your tail!?"
"It doesn't matter, my fur will grow back eventually. There are more important things to worry about." Yasaka wiped the tears from her eyes.
Her grandson was alive.
Yasaka looked down at her tail that was missing fur.
...
"What the hell!? Do you not know how to restrain yourself, you shaved the entire tail!?"
She was going to spank her grandson after she hugged him!
