Chapter 2 - Frostwale siblings (part 2)

Elias:(The older brother)

Elias is 18 yr old boy,he has decent height and looks, his hair is brown and short,he loves his black long sleeve jacket.

School:

The evening sun bled orange through the fractured classroom window as Lira packed her pencil case. A sharp *crack* made her jump—Mira had snapped her math textbook shut. "You're actually !? letting Elias pick you up like a kid?" her friend teased. Lira shrugged, fingers brushing the cracked screen of her decade-old phone. One new message: "Outside. Hurry."

Neighborhood:

The apartment complex loomed ahead like a crumbling tomb. Paint peeled in leprosy patches, and the rusted gate screeched as Elias shouldered it open. "Quiet," he muttered, though the floorboards screamed beneath their feet.

Apartment:

The apartment's flickering bulb cast shadows over the cracked photo on the altar. Elias set down the ramen cups carefully, his calloused fingers brushing away a crumb stuck to Lira's side of the table. "Spicy one's mine," he said, forcing a grin. "Don't want you crying over the heat again, right? "

Lira rolled her eyes but nudged her cup closer. The broth was lukewarm—Elias had clearly microwaved it too long at the convenience store during his break. Again.

*The doorbell rang*

Elias stood so fast his chair screeched. He stepped in front of Lira, blocking her view of the door. Mr. Park's voice slithered through the gap before it fully opened: "Three months your rent is due since three months. You have two days Or I will call the cops."

"O-Ok," Elias said, voice steady. His hand, hidden behind his back, trembled.

When the door shut, Lira stared at her noodles.Lira asked "We're not gonna make it, are we? "

"No ,I will get my salary 3 days later, and I don't think this is a coincidence,I think he wants us gone for good "said Elias.

Lira asks again"why would he plot a plan like that?"

"Its quite simple, how can you trust young orphans to pay rent when they can barely buy decent food "replied Elias

*Elias sat back down*

*Lira nudging her cup closer. *

"Eat. It'll get cold." Said Elias He peeled the lid off his ramen cup, steam fogging his glasses. "You'll graduate in two years. Get a fancy office job."

"Just pick something you like. Doesn't have to save the world."

Lira hesitated. "What if I pick wrong? "

Elias's chopsticks paused. For a second, his mask slipped—exhaustion pooling in the hollows under his eyes. Then he shrugged. "Then I'll work overtime 'til you pick again."

The altar creaked as he leaned over to adjust Grandma's vase. His thumb wiped dust off Mom's photo. "Just… don't rush. You've got time."

"Liar", Lira thought. They both knew time was the one thing they didn't have.

*They went to sleep after cleaning*
