Chapter 8 - Chp 08

At seven o'clock the next morning, Jon woke up from his sleep.

Turning off the alarm clock that was still crowing loudly like a rooster, he got up from the bed, got freshen up and then put on jeans and a shirt... he didn't want to go to the train station wearing a thick and stuffy wizard robe.

Picking up the suitcase, they went to the yard downstairs; Eric had already started the car and got out to help Jon carry the suitcase to the trunk.

Judy was there too, changing her shoes.

"Will you come with us, Mother?" Jon asked.

"Yes!" Judy showed a kind smile on her face: "Eric and I will go to King's Cross Station to see you off."

 …

The car was driving on the highway, and Eric was humming the tune of "God Save the Queen" as he drove.

Judy was in the back seat, looking worried, and kept saying:

...

...

"Don't be as casual at school as you are at home!"

"Don't argue with professors and classmates!"

"Remember to put on more clothes when it's cold. I've put two sweaters at the bottom of your bag..."

"I understand, Mom!" Jon didn't seem annoyed by Judy's nagging at all. Instead, he responded with a smile on his face.

"Oh, I'm still a little worried..." Judy covered her face with her hands. It was the first time in more than ten years that she would be separated from her son for such a long time.

"Don't worry about it, honey!" Eric seemed to be in a much better mood. He hummed a little tune and said jokingly, "Believe in our baby. I think his ability to survive alone is stronger than yours..."

"Shut up!" Judy rolled her eyes at him.

But she seemed to be in a much better mood.

They spent about two hours on the road and arrived at King's Cross Station at ten-thirty.

Eric put the suitcase on the handcart and asked, "Jon, which platform should we go to?"

"Eleven o'clock, platform nine and three quarters..." Jon took out the ticket.

"What? Nine and three quarters?" Eric frowned. "I don't remember there being such a platform at King's Cross Station."

"Maybe we should go to the area between platforms nine and ten!" Knowing the plot in the novel in his previous life, Jon was naturally familiar with the route.

King's Cross Station is almost one of the oldest train stations in Europe and is also the largest train station in London today; however, its prosperity is far inferior to the Hongqiao Station in the Magic City that Jon had seen in his previous life, or even the Magic City Station.

Passing through the sparse crowd, they arrived near Platform 9.

The destination of platform nine is Aberdeen, Scotland, while platform ten goes to Glasgow, Scotland.

Based on what he knew about the weather changes in Hogwarts in his previous life, Jon could speculate that the actual location of Hogwarts should be in the mountainous area at the northern end of the British Isles and central Scotland.

Considering that it is more than 400 miles (600 kilometers) away from London, it is no wonder that the train leaves at 11 a.m. and arrives in the evening.

"I don't think I see any nine and three-quarters station!" Eric glanced between platforms nine and ten and shrugged.

Then he went to ask a passing guard, and from the look on the guard's face, he seemed to take Eric for granted.

Jon looked at the big clock beside him. It was already ten fifteen, which was not good news.

Although he knew that the way to enter Platform Nine and Three-Quarter was to pass through a pillar between Platforms Nine and Ten...but there were at least ten pillars like this one in front of him.

You can't just try them one by one with your head, that's too stupid.

And according to his memory of the plot of "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" in his previous life, due to Dobby, it will not be long before Platform 9 3/4 will be closed early; by then, he will have to follow the two saviors on a flying car to school and be put in solitary confinement.

"Grandma, my toad seems to be missing again!" A timid voice suddenly came from behind.

"Ah, Neville," he heard another old woman sigh.

Jon's eyes lit up and he turned around quickly.

An old lady and a boy were walking towards this side. The old lady looked very imposing, while the boy looked a little clumsy. Both of them were wearing black wizard robes, which made them look out of place.

Eric apparently also heard their conversation and discovered them.

He moved forward quickly without Jon's reminder.

"Hello, ma'am... I'm Eric Hart!" Eric said sincerely, "My son is trying to go to Nine and Three Quarters Station. He's a freshman at Hogwarts, but we don't know the way..."

"Muggle?" The old lady was obviously surprised when she saw Eric's clothes.

But Eric is a lawyer after all, and his words give people a sense of trust.

"Hello, Mr. Hart... I'm Mrs. Longbottom!" The old lady smiled and said, "My grandson, Neville, is a second-year student at Hogwarts... I think he can take your son to Nine and Three Quarters Station."

"Hello, Neville!" Jon smiled at Neville and said enthusiastically.

The other party nodded to him timidly in response.

"Neville, take the young Mr. Hart to the station!" Mrs. Longbottom ordered, with a sense of non-committal in her words.

"Okay... Grandma..." Neville's voice was a little stuttering.

Then he pushed his luggage cart towards one of the pillars between platforms nine and ten.

Jon quickly pushed the cart and followed.

Mrs. Longbottom's voice came from behind: "Mr. Hart, walk in the middle of the pillars and pretend that there is nothing in front of you, so you won't be hit."

"Bang..." Suddenly hearing a slight collision sound in front, Jon hurriedly slowed down.

Following Mrs. Longbottom's instructions, he deliberately walked in the middle of the pillar.

A crimson steam locomotive appeared in front of him, with a sign on the train that read: Hogwarts Express.

There is also a brand new platform next to the train with "9? Station" written on it.

 "Success!" Jon smiled happily.

"Ouch!" Neville covered his head with his hands as the luggage cart tilted to the side.

There was a slight red bump on his head, and judging from his appearance, it was obvious that he had just walked across the platform and his head tilted to the side and got hit.

"Are you okay, Senior Longbottom..." Jon asked hurriedly with concern.

"No...it's okay..." Neville covered his head and barely stood up.

"Neville!" A crisp voice came from the side: "Are you okay?"

A little girl with brown hair trotted over.

 "I...didn't..."

Before Neville could finish, the girl had pulled out her wand from her belt and pointed it at Neville's head, muttering something.

The red and swollen area on Neville's head quickly disappeared.

"Thank you, Hermione!" Neville straightened his cart: "Hart... Hey, where is he?"

The boy who had accompanied him into the 9 3/4 station was gone.
