Chapter 10 - chp 10

The other party's repeated apologies made Jon feel better about her.

When he saw the little snake on the suitcase just now, he thought that the girl was one of those Slytherin pure-blood members who were born noble, so he had decided her personality.

Perhaps only in a region like Europe, where the area is small, inbreeding is common, and religious oppression is severe, would there be such a stupid argument that bloodline determines everything and pure blood is born noble.

"In other words, you were born a Muggle?" The girl asked softly as she saw Jon's expression softened a little.

"Yeah!" Jon frowned when he heard the word Muggle, but he still nodded: "My father is a lawyer and my mother is a fashion designer!"

"Wow!" Miss Greengrass looked very interested. "So... ordinary people also have professions like lawyers and fashion designers! I have never come into contact with them and don't understand their world at all..."

"Of course, I think ordinary people should be better than wizards in these aspects."

"My parents both work at the Ministry of Magic." Miss Greenslas said casually, "I have an older sister named Daphne, who is in the second grade now. I got separated from her when I got on the bus just now. Um, I also have a younger brother..."

...

...

 Daphne Greengrass?

The name sounds familiar, but I don't have any memory of it... She should have appeared in the original Harry Potter novel, but her role must be very small, otherwise I would not have forgotten her with my memory.

"I don't have any brothers or sisters!" Jon said, turning the page of his book. "I wish I had one!"

This is true, he was an only child in both of his lives.

"What are you reading, Mr. Hart?"

"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them!" Jon showed her the book in his hand: "You can call me Jon, Miss Greengrass!"

"Then you should call me Astoria." The girl winked slyly, "Do you like magical beasts too, Jon?"

 …

They quickly became familiar with each other and began to discuss enthusiastically.

Discussions range from whether a leprechaun or a vixen is smarter, whether a kneazle or a crup makes a better pet, to how to gain the trust of a bowtruckle...

It can be seen that Astoria does know a lot about magical creatures.

"You know so much!" Astoria said with envy.

Her mother is the director of the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures at the Ministry of Magic, so she knows so much about magical animals. Unexpectedly, compared with a Muggle-born peer like Jon Hart, she is somewhat inferior.

Jon smiled. His outstanding memory was one of the few benefits of his space-time traveling.

"By the way, Jon!" Astoria suddenly asked, "Which house do you want to go to?"

This question suddenly caught Jon off guard.

"What about you?" he could only ask in return.

"Slytherin!" The girl's face revealed a hint of pride: "My whole family graduated from Slytherin! What about you?"

"I think I would go to Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff " Jon said after thinking carefully for a moment.

Of the four houses, Slytherin was ruled out first. After all, a "lowly" Muggle could not possibly be worthy of the noble pure-blood house. Gryffindor was ruled out second. Going to Gryffindor would mean being close to the main trio and Ginny Weasley.

It's a matter of choosing between Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff. Jon doesn't really care about either of them. It's just that if he goes to Ravenclaw, he will have to guess the door knocker riddles endlessly, which is a bit troublesome. Hufflepuff is better...

"Hufflepuff?" Astoria raised her voice subconsciously, her tone a little stuttering: "How is this possible... I mean... my sister told me... Hufflepuff has a lot of..."

"There are a lot of gluttons in Hufflepuff?" Jon smiled. It seemed that Hufflepuff was indeed at the bottom of the Hogwarts contempt chain. "Isn't it because Hufflepuff is the closest to the kitchen? To be honest, I want to be a glutton!"

"I still don't want you to go to Hufflepuff!" Astoria lowered her head:

"I wish you could come to Slytherin..."

Her last sentence was spoken very softly, as small as a mosquito.

Jon didn't seem to hear; he was rummaging through a box.

Soon, he took out a big bag from the box, which was filled with a lot of snacks.

Snacks on trains are always expensive, and this rule also applies to the wizarding world... A year ago, the two main characters, Potter and Weasley, spent almost 200 worth of Galleons on snacks here.

Jon, who comes from a poor family, naturally would not spend this money in vain.

Two days before leaving, he went to the ASDA supermarket on Eastleigh Road and bought a large bag of snacks, enough for him to eat for a week at Hogwarts.

"Is this...a snack for you ordinary people?" Astoria asked curiously.

"Sure, would you like some?" Jon said as he threw a bottle of Coca-Cola over.

"Thank you..." Astoria took the bottle of drink in a hurry.

"But you'd better not open it directly..."

 "Why?"

 "Bang..."

Astoria directly unscrewed the can of Coke, and then countless bubbles burst out and splashed onto her!

"Ah...what kind of magic is this?" She smiled happily, "It's really interesting!"

"Uh, you'd better wipe it off. It'll be sticky when it dries." Jon quickly handed over a tissue and placed a bunch of snacks on Astoria's seat. Including fried French fries; as well as baked cod, baked trout, baked salmon, and baked flounder...

Just then, there was a loud noise of clicking in the aisle.

"Honey, do you want to buy some food from the car?"

A smiling woman with dimples pushed open the cubicle door and was stunned when she saw Astoria, who was covered in foam but looked happy, and Jon, who was holding a tissue beside her.

"I want it!" Astoria blushed immediately, pushed Jon away, lowered her head and ran to the aisle.

But she came back soon with Pippi Every Flavour Beans, Puffball Super Bubble Gum, Chocolate Frogs, Pumpkin Pies, Pot Cakes, Licorice Wands, and some other strange foods that Jon had never seen before.

"Here, I'll share it with you!" She pushed half to the other side.

 "Thanks!"

Just as the two were enjoying their meal, the door of the compartment was pushed open again.

"Astoria, you are here!" A sharp voice came from outside the door.

...

...

...

"Sister?" Astoria stood up at a loss.

Standing outside the door was a girl of about twelve or thirteen with golden curly hair, who looked somewhat like Astoria; however, Astoria had a childish face that made people feel very gentle, while she gave people a very sharp expression.

Daphne Greengrass looked like an angry hen, and glanced at Jon, who was sitting opposite Astoria. Seeing Jon's shirt and jeans, she showed a disdainful expression on her face, and then turned her gaze to Astoria.

"Where have you been? Do you know how long I have been looking for you?" she asked sternly.

"Sister... I..." The girl who was questioned looked a little pale: "I lost you when I entered the platform just now..."

"Then you should go find the conductor or the attendant!" Daphne Greengrass said condescendingly, "instead of just randomly finding a carriage."

As she spoke, she glanced at Jon with some caution.

"You can't run around casually. I think mother has warned you many times... She begged Professor Dumbledore to..."

Daphne stopped talking halfway, looked at Jon for the third time, and stopped talking.

...

...

Jon on the side has entered the mode of watching the show.

Although he had a good impression of Astoria Greengrass, Daphne Greengrass's attitude made him a little unhappy.

But after all, it is difficult for a judge to judge family affairs, and as an outsider, it is not easy for him to interfere in the affairs between the sisters. Therefore, he was content to be a spectator.

"Hurry, pack your things and follow me!" Daphne ordered, "There's still a seat available in my private room."

Astoria looked at Jon apologetically, then nodded stiffly with her pale face.

 "Okay, sister..."

She began to put the things from the seat back into the suitcase.

As she was about to cover the opened but undrunk bottle of Coca-Cola and put it in the box.

"Astoria! Don't use that dirty Muggle stuff!" Daphne Greengrass screamed.

Even though Jon appeared to be very well-mannered, he couldn't help but frown at this moment.

Astoria seemed to grow even paler.

 "Okay, sister!"

But she didn't seem to dare to disobey her sister's order and put the Coke back to its place.

 …

Suddenly, there was a sound of chaotic footsteps outside the door, and the door of the compartment was opened again.

"Excuse me, are there any empty seats here? All other seats are full!" A girl's voice came from the door.

The girl seemed to notice Astoria carrying her suitcase and preparing to leave: "Hey, are you getting ready to leave? Can I sit in your seat?"

This is a very pretty girl, with smooth reddish-brown hair and brown eyes. More importantly, she doesn't look unfamiliar at all.

"Oh my god!" Jon, who was just watching the show, was almost scared.

This was probably the last person he wanted to see on the train: Ginny Weasley.

She was probably looking for Harry and Ron, so there was no seat yet; but she didn't know that Harry and Ron had already driven to school in the Speeder.

Spending a train journey with Ginny Weasley, who was possessed by Voldemort?

This is too scary. It's only eleven-fifteen and we still have almost half a day to travel.

What if I become familiar with her and she becomes happy and makes me the first target of the basilisk's attack?

Not to mention that Voldemort himself is a master of Legilimency who can cast spells without a wand. If the other party accidentally sees some of the subsequent plot, he will be doomed.

Jon took measures at the first moment. He had to let Astoria stay at all costs and at least persuade Ginny Weasley to leave.

Almost in the blink of an eye, he rushed forward and pressed down Astoria's suitcase.

"Um... Miss Greengrass..." He turned his back to Ginny as much as possible to avoid her noticing him. "I think there's nothing wrong with Astoria staying in this room. If she's feeling unwell, I think I can take care of her..."

"You..." Daphne Greengrass became even more disgusted when she saw Jon's expression.

"Jon...I..." A hint of redness appeared on Astoria's pale face.

Ginny Weasley seemed to think that there was no more room in this compartment, so she turned and left... This made Jon feel relieved.

"Sister... I think I can stay and take care of myself..." Astoria whispered. This might be one of the few times in her life that she disobeyed her sister's wishes.

"What did you say?" Daphne Greengrass couldn't believe her ears.

She grabbed Astoria Greengrass's hand fiercely, and then shouted at Jon:

"I...would never...let my sister be in a cubicle with a Mudblood!"

After saying that, she forcibly took Astoria's hand and walked away.

 …

Jon felt his hands trembling slightly.

It's been rare without such strong emotions... such anger!

The last time this happened was in his previous life when he was attending an academic conference in Marseille. A guy called him "Flachzange". He rushed over angrily and punched the other guy several times...

If it weren't for the fact that his supervisor had a good relationship with the organizer of the conference and had kept the matter under wraps, he might have been punished by the school after returning home.

The emotions now are almost exactly the same as they were then.

Jon's first thought was to take out his wand and cast a petrification spell on the other party... Unfortunately, the wand was in the suitcase, and by the time he took it out, Daphne would probably have left.

With a gloomy face, he returned to his seat. Although he successfully got rid of Ginny Weasley, he did not feel any sense of accomplishment.

He roughly measured twice with his fingers on the table. It was now September 1st. The latitude of the Scottish Highlands was about 56-57 degrees north latitude, the longitude was about 3 degrees west longitude, and the time zone was Greenwich (0).

 Then it's simple:

 Sunset time = (180 + time zone * 15 - longitude + arccos (tan (10547π81000 * cos (2π * (date + 9) 365)) * tan (latitude * π 180)) * 180π) 15

A simple calculation shows that the sunset time in the Scottish Highlands is approximately 19:13:40.

According to the original description, the train will not arrive at Hogwarts until after dark.

It takes more than eight hours to drive a distance of just over 400 miles, which is really slow... With such a short distance, if we can pull the Harmony over, maybe we can make it in time for lunch at Hogwarts.

Jon set the alarm clock to 19:10, then lay down in his seat and fell asleep.
