Chapter 69 - Questions

Anna approached the bed, after locking the door from the inside, and sat down next to Adam, took his hand and kissed it lovingly, while he watched her attentively. She thought she saw a glint of fear in his eye, and it bothered her. She wanted to talk to him about the baby, but maybe this wasn't a good time.

"Why didn't you come home to recover here?" Anna asked after a while.

"I needed some time away from everything and everyone."

"Why did you bring Kate and Sarah back? You... It undermines my authority within my own home. I had strong reasons for sending them away..."

"And I have strong reasons for keeping them here."

"She's really going to stay here, right?" Anna asked. She was completely indifferent to Sarah's presence at that moment.

"Yes... She asked me, and I didn't want to deny it. This is the time to keep her close. I need to know what she's up to. I've already taken steps. Her cell phone has been cloned, and if I find any suspicious conversations, she'll leave here for the cemetery. I've also told the men to give orders in the kitchen so that the cooks don't leave her alone there. You mustn't go there at night, because there's a wild wolf, who will be there in case she tries to do anything at that time. There's water in the fridge in that room, and even sandwiches in case she gets hungry at night. The wolf won't be in the kitchen for more than a week. I had them follow Sarah discreetly. And this house was protected with cameras in every corner. Something has happened and I can no longer see through the werewolves' eyes all the time. The only place that doesn't have a camera is here..."

"I think I can think of reasons not to monitor this room..." Anna said dreamily, but then turned seriously to Adam. "But what about Ryan and his men? They were practically living at the gate."

"They've gone now. I've sorted that out... but we're still going to have future problems with Ryan. When he recovers, he'll start making demands again."

"He wants me... I feel bad knowing that I'm motivating a war..."

"It's not the first time in history that a woman has caused a war."

Anna smiled amusedly, but then looked thoughtful.

"Adam... I didn't try to take your place..."

"It's okay, Anna." He said and gently brushed the hand she was holding across her face. "I was the one who told my men that they should follow your orders. I only wanted to talk to you at that moment."

"We also didn't talk about... About what you said to Sarah about me. It's pretty hard to ignore a statement like that..."

"I don't want to talk about it now. I can only tell you that everything I said to her is the truth. I wish I'd had time to show her with attitude too. But we're in imminent danger and I can't be with you like I wanted to be. You'll doubt all my words, but I want you to always remember that what I've said isn't even half of what I hold in my heart for you. Even if I don't seem to feel those things."

"Are you going back to bed with Sarah?" Anna asked, finding Adam very confused in his words. Perhaps it was the effect of some medication. That's why she didn't want to delve into what he said. It didn't make any sense.

"I don't know, Anna. I'm not psychic. I'm attracted to experienced, older women, but that doesn't mean I'd leave you."

"I would never forgive you." Anna said and her eyes filled with tears.

"When you understand my desires, maybe you'll attract me the way they attract me, and I won't need to feel satiated by them anymore. You'll be able to fulfill that. But let's not talk about that now. Let's talk about you. Did you miss me?"

"No." Anna said, wiping her tears with her arm. "You left? I didn't even notice..."

Adam smiled and stretching out his arm towards her, took her by the hair, bringing her head down as far as her lips could reach. And he gave her the most passionate kiss Anna could remember. It changed her mood. As soon as he released her, she pulled him by the arm.

 "Come on. Let's have lunch."

"I don't think it's been two hours yet..." He said, wanting to stay there with her, but resisting.

Anna let him go and looked at him seriously.

"Then we'll stay here. I can't think of anything better than playing cards with you while we wait for lunch to be served..." She said seductively, without being aware of it, and Adam, realizing her innocence and the truth of her words, became more aroused than he already was.

He stood up, took off the sling and held her tightly in his arms. He gave her a long kiss, the kind that only those in love are capable of, and lifting her into his arms, he laid her on the bed, where they loved each other, hungry for the other. Anna felt even more loved when she realized that Adam had had three orgasms in a short space of time. Anna believed that this was a sign of his great desire for her. Despite his offensive words about her ability to fulfill his desires.

Once they were satiated and lying naked in each other's arms, waiting for their breathing to return to normal, Anna decided it was time to clear up her doubts.

"Adam... Why didn't you want to stay in your room?"

Adam turned his head, which was facing the ceiling, and stared at her for a few moments. Then he returned to his original position and took a deep breath.

"When Sarah separated me from you downstairs, I thought I hadn't smelled you enough, and as I thought you'd be angry, and wouldn't come to see me for going into the house with her, I wanted to lie down in your bed. Your scent is intoxicating."

"Was my smell enough for you?" Anna asked, suppressing the urge to tell him how much she missed him.

"I think I've proved to you that it wasn't..." He said jokingly, but Anna saw his erection flare up again, and decided to change the subject, as there were still things she wanted to know.

"What about the men who went with you? Where are they?"
