Adam's expression turned somber, but Anna didn't notice.
"Three of them are already at home. And one of them, Caricatura, is still in the werewolf hospital. He was wounded in the kidney. The shots they fired at my men were meant to kill. They're lucky to be alive, which can't be said of the child who unfortunately paid for Ryan's betrayal with his life... Anna waited, without responding to the caresses, for Adam to finish and lay back down on her side.

Anna turned to him with a dark look on her face when she saw the amusement in his voice and stood up.
"You don't need my pity." She said angrily.
"I didn't want to fight with you and... I know you're seething with jealousy right now, not just because I forced you to take Sarah and Kate back into this house, but also because I said I needed them to make up for what you haven't done yet."
Anna crossed her arms.
"So... All you wanted was for me to have sex with you, without you having to listen to my complaints?"
Adam smiled and crossed his arms behind his head.
"I guess you're going to do that now, right?"
Anna looked at the door thoughtfully and then took a deep breath.
"No, Adam. I think... You're right. I created expectations, and I joked the whole time you were traveling that I was something other than sex in your life. You didn't fool me. I... I have no right to demand anything from you." Anna said, thinking about the child in her womb, and how she would get more money to support herself. There was no doubt in her mind about what she needed to do. She would run away.
"I didn't think you'd react so... sensible. You surprise me, Anna. I don't like to justify myself to anyone."
Anna walked to the door, and wasn't surprised when he reached the door using his fast speed, and crossed his arms, blocking her way.
"I'm hungry, Adam." Anna said calmly.
"If I want more sex with you right now, what are you going to do?"
"I'm going to ask you to hurry up, because I'm really hungry."
"You're not going to repel me?"
"No."
He uncrossed his arms and reaching out, ran his fingers over Anna's face, lingering on her lips.
"You're not telling the truth."
"You can know that now."
"I don't want you as a lifeless body, Anna." He said and withdrew his hand, staring at her coldly. "Don't challenge me again. I don't care how you feel. That's not my problem. I call the shots in my house, Anna. Nothing here belongs to you, not even your own body."
"I didn't challenge..."
"You defy me when you question my orders. If I tell you to do something, do it. I don't care about your reasons. I want you to obey me!"
"What are you talking about?"
"You acted badly towards Sarah and asked me to explain my behavior. And the last time I penetrated you, you just resigned yourself. You looked like a corpse. Don't do that anymore."
"What will happen if I do?" Anna couldn't resist. Either he would kill her with the child inside her at that moment, or in a few days, she would run away and he would never see her again.

She closed her eyes without a fight. He felt frustrated that she wasn't struggling for air, when he felt a strong, firm hand touch his arm and break his almost hypnotic attention to Anna's unusual reactions.
"Don't make a mess in your own house, Adam. They're your rules, remember?" Genevieve's sensual voice invaded his mind, and he let go of Anna, who fell to the floor, looking lifeless.
Adam turned to Genevieve.
"I want you. Now."
Genevieve looked at Anna on the floor, and held out her hand to Adam.
"Of course, Adam. But let's go to my room. Let someone come and look after her..." Genevieve said, wondering if she was too late.
Adam took her hand and pulled her against his naked body.
"Here, Genevieve. You're going to prove your fidelity to me now. I don't want you to be friends with Anna."
"Why not?"
Adam remained silent. Genevieve understood that he wouldn't speak.
"I am faithful, Adam. I have no interest in friendship with her..."
"Then come." He said and took her to bed.
