Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: The People's Champion vs. The Last Outlaw

Backstage – The Final Hype Before the PPV

The WWF locker room was buzzing. Everyone knew that Jaxon Cross vs. The Rock was no ordinary match. It was a statement fight.

Jaxon had walked into the company like a wrecking ball, tearing through established names and refusing to be humbled. He had survived The Acolytes. He had slammed The Big Show.

Now, he was about to step into the ring with one of the biggest names in wrestling history.

The Rock.

Backstage, The Rock laced his boots. He didn't need to do much preparation. This wasn't about wrestling ability—it was about putting Jaxon in his place.

But the truth was… something about Jaxon bothered him.

Maybe it was the raw intensity. Maybe it was the fact that Jaxon didn't kiss ass like everyone else. Maybe it was the way the crowd was starting to rally behind him, despite everything Vince threw at him.

The Rock wasn't just fighting a match tonight.

He was fighting to protect his spot.

PPV: No Way Out – Jaxon Cross vs. The Rock

The arena was electric.

The Rock's music hit first.

"IF YA SMELLLLLLLL… WHAT THE ROCK… IS COOKIN'!"

The crowd erupted. The Rock walked down the ramp with his signature swagger, flexing his fists. He was focused. Ready.

Then—

Jaxon's music hit.

The energy shifted. No theatrics, no flashy pyro—just a man walking into battle.

Jaxon stepped into the ring, locking eyes with The Rock. No fear. No hesitation.

The bell rang.

The crowd leaned forward.

They charged.

Jaxon went low immediately, trying to take Rock's legs out. Rock sprawled, countered, and fired back with a stiff right hand!

Jaxon stumbled—but came back with a brutal elbow!

Rock staggered.

The crowd felt it immediately. This wasn't a normal match—this was a fight.

Jaxon pressed the attack.

Clubbing forearms to the chest.

A stiff knee to the gut.

A vicious clothesline that sent Rock rolling out of the ring.

The fans popped.

Rock slapped the mat, pacing outside. He wasn't used to being bullied.

Jaxon smirked, standing in the ring. "What's wrong, People's Champ? You thought this was gonna be easy?"

Rock slid back into the ring, locked in now.

The match truly began.

Momentum Swings – The Rock Strikes Back

Rock played it smart. He dodged Jaxon's heavy shots, used his speed.

Jaxon went for a big clothesline—Rock ducked, hit a snap DDT!

Jaxon's head bounced off the mat.

Rock popped up, smirking. He knew he had to keep moving.

Rock hit a flying clothesline.

Followed by a belly-to-belly suplex.

Then a Samoan drop.

The momentum had shifted.

Jaxon rolled to the ropes, breathing heavy. Rock stayed on him.

Rock threw him into the ropes—SPINEBUSTER!

The crowd popped.

Rock popped up, stood over Jaxon, ripped off his elbow pad.

"You know what time it is!" Jim Ross screamed.

The People's Elbow.

Rock ran the ropes, bounced back—

BUT JAXON MOVED.

Rock hit the mat. Jaxon kipped up immediately.

The crowd lost their minds.

Jaxon caught Rock from behind—DEADLIFT GERMAN SUPLEX!

Jaxon held on—another German!

Then a third!

Rock's body bounced off the mat.

Jaxon wasn't stopping.

He lifted Rock—POWERBOMB.

He lifted Rock again—SECOND POWERBOMB.

He lifted him again—

FALLAWAY SLAM!

The crowd erupted.

Jaxon crawled to Rock's body, hooked the leg.

1… 2…

ROCK KICKED OUT.

The arena was shaking.

---

Vince's Hand in the Fight

Suddenly—BOOM.

A referee pulled out of the ring.

The camera cut—Vince McMahon stood at ringside, smirking.

The crowd BOOED.

Vince motioned to the ramp—The Acolytes stormed down the aisle.

Jaxon saw them coming.

He rolled out of the ring before they got there, grabbed a steel chair.

The moment Faarooq stepped in—CRACK! Chair to the skull.

Bradshaw charged—CRACK! Another chair shot!

The Acolytes collapsed.

Jaxon turned to Vince, breathing heavy. Eyes filled with rage.

The crowd knew what was coming.

Jaxon stepped toward Vince—but Rock grabbed him from behind!

ROCK BOTTOM!

The referee slid back in.

Rock covered Jaxon.

1… 2…

JAXON KICKED OUT.

The arena ERUPTED.

Even The Rock looked stunned.

Jaxon Cross was still alive.

---

The Finish – A Defiant Warrior

Rock had enough.

He lifted Jaxon up—another Rock Bottom attempt.

Jaxon fought out.

Rock threw a punch—Jaxon dodged.

Jaxon grabbed Rock—FINAL BELL.

The Sit-Out Powerbomb CONNECTED.

Jaxon covered.

1… 2… 3.

JAXON CROSS HAD PINNED THE ROCK.

The crowd lost their minds.

The Aftermath – A Bigger War Begins

Jaxon sat in the ring, bloodied, exhausted, but victorious.

Vince stood at ringside, red-faced, furious.

The Rock rolled out of the ring, shaking his head.

For the first time in a long time… he had been beaten clean.

Jaxon grabbed the mic, breathing heavy.

He looked down at Vince.

"Still not enough, huh? You can stack the deck. You can send your goons. You can throw everything at me. But I'm still standing."

The crowd cheered.

"You want to kill me, McMahon? You better send someone better. Because if this is the best you got… I'm gonna burn this whole damn company to the ground."

Jaxon threw the mic down.

The message was clear.

Vince McMahon had created a monster he couldn't control.

Cut to black.
