Chapter 19 - Chapter 19: The Darkness Within

The Ominous Warning – A Legend's Return

The eerie toll of The Undertaker's bells still echoed in the air, filling the arena with an unsettling silence. Fans looked around, searching for any sign of the Deadman's presence, but the lights remained dim, the atmosphere tense. The arena was in a state of suspended anticipation. Jaxon Cross stood in the center of the ring, his fists clenched, his eyes scanning the shadows as though expecting something—or someone—to emerge.

Seth Rollins, having heard the ominous bells himself, stepped toward Jaxon, a subtle grin on his face despite the eerie tension. "You really think that guy's going to just let us walk away, right? The Undertaker doesn't play by anyone's rules."

Jaxon's eyes never left the entrance ramp. "I've faced him before, Seth. And I'll face him again."

But before either man could say more, the lights cut out completely. A deep, guttural voice echoed throughout the arena, sending chills down the spines of everyone present.

"Jaxon Cross… you've crossed a line, one that even the darkness cannot ignore. You've made your choice, but in doing so, you have awakened something… something far worse than you can imagine."

A cold shiver ran through Jaxon's spine as the voice resonated. It was unmistakably The Undertaker, but there was something darker, something more chilling in the tone than ever before.

As the lights flickered back on, The Undertaker was standing at the top of the ramp, his figure a silhouette against the cold blue light. His eyes locked onto Jaxon's, piercing through him as though seeing the very soul of the man who dared challenge him.

"You think you can play the game, Cross?" The Undertaker's voice was low, measured, and impossibly cold. "You think you can survive the storm? This is no mere storm, boy. This is the end of everything you know. The darkness that lies within will consume you before you even realize it."

Jaxon's face remained stoic. He had faced this man before, and while the fearsome aura of the Deadman was undeniable, he wasn't about to back down. "I've faced worse than you, Taker. And when it's all said and done, I'll be the one standing."

The Undertaker's lips curled into a sinister smile, his eyes flashing with a mixture of anger and eerie amusement. "We shall see. The darkness always claims its due, Jaxon. And you, my friend, are not exempt from its toll."

With that, The Undertaker vanished into the shadows, leaving behind a room filled with unsettling silence.

Seth Rollins – The Voice of Reason or the Devil's Advocate?

The tension in the air was thick enough to cut with a knife. Seth Rollins, who had been a calm observer to the whole ordeal, now turned his attention to Jaxon, his usual cocky grin replaced with something darker.

"You sure about this?" Seth asked, his voice soft but filled with an edge of concern. "The Undertaker's no joke. You saw what he did to people in the past. You're playing with fire, Cross."

Jaxon didn't break eye contact with the spot where The Undertaker had been moments before. "I didn't come this far to back down now. I've survived Brock Lesnar, The Undertaker once before, and I'll do it again. If it's a fight he wants, it's a fight he'll get."

Seth stepped closer, his voice lowering, almost as if speaking a secret. "You're right to have that fire, Jaxon. But here's the thing you're not understanding: The Undertaker isn't just any opponent. He's not some guy you can just fight head-to-head. You need more than heart to beat him. You need a plan. A strategy. You need… me."

Jaxon turned his head slightly, narrowing his eyes at Seth. "I'm listening."

Seth's voice was smooth, calculated. "I've been through the same thing, Jaxon. You know how I beat legends like him? By taking away their power. We need to get into his head. We need to make him doubt himself, make him question if he's still as invincible as he thinks. We play this game smart, or we lose."

Jaxon stood still for a moment, his gaze unyielding. "I didn't come here to play games, Seth. I came to take over. But if you've got a plan, I'll listen."

Seth smirked, a spark of ambition in his eyes. "I've always got a plan. Together, we'll take down The Undertaker, and we'll leave him wondering what the hell just happened."

The Seeds of Betrayal – Edge and Orton's Schemes

Elsewhere, backstage, Edge and Randy Orton had been watching the interaction unfold on a monitor. The two men, once enemies but now united in their hunger for dominance, exchanged knowing glances. They had already felt the sting of being pushed aside by Jaxon Cross and Seth Rollins, and now, it seemed the rivalry had escalated to a new level.

"The Undertaker might have a claim on Cross, but if anyone is going to put him down for good, it's going to be us," Edge said, his voice dark and calculating. "He's made a mistake aligning with Seth Rollins. Rollins has his own agenda, and it won't be long before Jaxon finds himself in a bigger mess than he bargained for."

Randy Orton nodded, his cold eyes fixed on the screen. "We've been down this road before, Edge. We don't need anyone else. Jaxon might have the fire, but he's too much of a wildcard. We play things our way, and we end this before it even gets started."

Edge's smirk deepened. "Let's make it happen. The future belongs to those who strike first."

A Darker Alliance – Edge and Orton's Plot

The plan was simple, or so it seemed. Edge and Randy Orton weren't going to sit back and wait for Jaxon to come to them. Instead, they were going to take the fight directly to him, manipulating every opportunity to take him down in front of the WWE Universe.

The two men knew that Jaxon and Seth Rollins were a dangerous combination, but if they could create a divide, sow distrust between the two, they could take them out once and for all. And the best way to do that was to strike at their hearts—literally.

The night of their next confrontation was fast approaching. Edge and Randy Orton had one thing on their minds: to tear apart the foundation of the alliance between Jaxon Cross and Seth Rollins. They weren't going to wait until the bell rang. They were going to bring the war to them first.

The Undertaker's Prophecy – The Truth Unfolds

As the week progressed, the shadow of The Undertaker loomed larger and larger over Jaxon Cross. In his darkest hour, Jaxon began to question his own decisions. Seth Rollins had promised him power, but Jaxon knew that Rollins wasn't entirely trustworthy. But the Undertaker… the Undertaker's warning was still fresh in his mind.

"The darkness always claims its due," The Undertaker had said. "You are not exempt from its toll."

Jaxon's thoughts were interrupted as he entered the training room, where Seth Rollins was already preparing for their next match.

Seth noticed Jaxon's contemplative expression. "What's on your mind, man? You look like you've seen a ghost."

Jaxon shook his head. "No, I've heard one."

Seth paused, sensing the tension in Jaxon's words. "If you're worried about The Undertaker, don't be. He's a ghost of the past. We're the future, Jaxon. That's what we need to focus on."

Jaxon exhaled slowly, the weight of what he had to do settling on his shoulders. "I'm starting to think you're right, Seth. But I don't want to lose myself in this fight. I need to stay true to who I am, or I'll become just another casualty of this business."

Seth's expression softened, almost uncharacteristically. "You won't lose yourself, Jaxon. Not if you don't let the darkness take you."
