She was dressed differently tonight—black silk blouse, fitted leather pants, heels that could kill. One leg was crossed over the other, her fingers lazily holding a cigarette she had no intention of smoking.


"You actually came," she mused, lips curling into a smirk.


Elias smiled. "Of course! You invited me."


This idiot… did he not realize where he was?


Selena stood, slowly approaching him. The room fell into silence.


"You know," she said softly, "most people would be afraid to step foot in a place like this."


Selena stepped closer, invading his space. "Because, Elias," she whispered, "I could snap my fingers and make someone disappear."


Elias tilted his head. "That's kinda dramatic, don't you think?"


Jax actually choked on his drink this time.


Muffled laughter echoed through the room. The criminals watching were confused and fascinated—no one had ever spoken to Lady Nyx like this.


Selena narrowed her eyes, expecting some hint of mockery. But Elias… was completely serious.


She stepped back. Was this idiot fearless or just clueless?


Elias looked around. "So… why did you invite me?"


Selena didn't answer immediately. Instead, she studied him.


Then, with a smirk, she handed him a glass of wine.
