Chapter 8 - BACK

LOGAN'S POV

She stood there, meek, naive, and lonely.

Her gaze gently lifted up to me. I could see the hesitation on her face, like she was afraid.

Afraid of whom? Me?

Everyone feared me, but I hated the feeling of her being afraid of me.

Why?

These emotions I had been feeling ever since she called my name… The way it sounded when it rolled off her tongue…

The sound of her voice when she muttered Logan was like pure heaven in my dark world.

"I wasn't doing anything, I promise," she muttered.

I swear I could hear the tremble in her voice, and for some reason, it was worse than losing a battle to werewolves.

And I hate losing to werewolves, especially the king.

"You should eat. You haven't eaten anything all day," I muttered as I tied the bathroom robe around my waist.

I could see her cheeks turning pink as she looked at anything but me.

I smirked.

"Thank you, but have you eaten anything?" she asked.

I had eaten before coming here, practically.

My food is human blood. And seeing how close I was earlier, that I almost drank hers…

I was in thirst.

I drank all the blood I could find, humans, animals, and vampires.

I just nodded my head before going to the closet to drag out a black T-shirt and shorts.

I could feel her eyes on me with every movement I took.

"I know you're starving, but you're not allowed to eat me, kitten," I teased as I caught her gaze.

Her face turned beet red, and I found that cute.

I hated when girls blushed, but when she did it, it was like light shining into my dark world.

My dark world...

She's too precious for that world.

"I... I don't know what you're talking about," she muttered.

I smirked.

"Oh... I'm sure you do."

She bit her lip, something I noticed she did when she was nervous.

But that reaction does something to me.

What is wrong with me?

I have never thought of things like this. Why now? Why when I'm with her?

'It doesn't matter now', my demon growled.

"She's leaving tomorrow."

The reminder of what was going to happen tomorrow echoed in my mind.

"Don't forget, if she stays here till tomorrow at dusk, I will end her life."

My father's voice rang through my head.

Kill her...

That's what he's good at. Killing people.

I won't let him kill her the same way he killed Emily…

Emily.

My love.

"Are you okay?" Worry etched across her face as she stared at me.

"Yes, I am fine."

"You should eat. Your food will be cold by now."

Before she could respond, I teleported away.

The sky was already turning dark, the sun setting, casting a crimson streak across the horizon.

It reminded me of her in more ways than I could explain.

"Logan… stop it," Emily chuckled as I tickled her, her blonde hair spraying across her face.

"No, not until you kiss me," I muttered.

"Okay, okay, fine…" she agreed.

She lifted her gaze to me as I stopped tickling her.

"Fine?"

"Yeah, Logan."

I brought my lipsdown to hers.

Her soft lips landed on mine, and I couldn't get enough of her lips, her touch.

That day, we made love under the sunset.

"Get over that bitch," my demon growled.

"She's not a bitch, dick," I snapped.

"Well, well, well… look who we have here," a voice I remembered all too well muttered.

I turned around to see him.

Alex.

King of the wolf packs.

Alpha of the Blood Moon Pack.

"What brings you into my territory, Prince Logan?" he muttered sinisterly, his long blonde hair falling down his shoulders.

"I was looking for you," I stated.

He raised an eyebrow. "What for?"

"I need the Orts," I stated bluntly.

He scoffed. "Are you serious right now?" he muttered.

I stared at him, unfazed.

"You and I both know that I'm not going to wield you the power of the Orts."

"And you and I both know your kingdom can't protect the Orts," I stated.

The Orts are one of the most divine powers given to all mythical creatures by the Moon Goddess.

The power it wields can raise the dead, grant visions, destroy a kingdom, and perform all kinds of forbidden acts if placed in the wrong hands.

Alex scoffed. "You're the last person I would ever give this power to."

"And besides, who knows? If I give you the power, your kingdom might destroy it," he muttered.

"Fuck off, Alex. I'm taking it whether you like it or not," I threatened.

A growl escaped his chest.

A growl that summoned all his pack members.

Before I knew it, I was circled by a pack of wolves.

I scoffed. "Really? You're so weak, you had to call your people?"

"Get off our lands now, vampire," he muttered.

"Or what?"

"You'll be dead," he stated venomously.

Before I could react, one of the wolves pounced on me, its sharp claws aiming for my heart.

I teleported out of his sight and appeared behind him, using my silver coated dagger to stab his back.

He groaned in pain.

Another came.

I did the same thing.

It didn't even break me a sweat as I defeated the whole army that surrounded me.

They were too weak, too slow, too vulnerable.

"Is this the army you trained to protect the Orts?" I scoffed. "How weak."

Alex narrowed his eyes at me. "Be careful what you wish for, Prince Logan. You might just get it," he muttered.

"Same thing goes for you, Alpha Alex," I muttered before teleporting to him and stabbing him, right in the chest.

He winced in pain, a low growl escaping his lips as he muttered, "I will destroy you, Logan."

I smirked. "I can't wait for that day to come," I muttered before pulling the dagger from his chest.

I heard the transition is really painful.

I disappeared from that view into the main palace of the Moon Pack.

He fell to his knees, bones cracking, it was the only sound filling the air , as he shifted from wolf to man.

I guess that's the effect of silver on the king.
