Chapter 8 - CHAPTER-8 HEARTQUAKE

(FULL BOOK AVAILABLE IN AMAZON)As class ended, Roslin walked out, and as usual, Loviyan followed her till the river. Suddenly, rain began to pour, and they both dashed for shelter under a nearby tree.

They stood close, pretending they were trapped in the rain. Roslin leaned back against the tree while Loviyan ran his fingers through his golden hair, sending droplets flying. She folds her lips, holding her smile at the sight.

When he shook his hair dry, water splashed onto her.

"Sorry!" he said, leaning against the tree beside her.

Roslin covered her face with her book, trying to stifle her laughter while blushing.

"Where do you live?" he asked in his deep voice.

Her heart raced as she fidgeted with her frock, nerves getting the best of her. Loviyan turned to face her, raising his brow, and she felt her heart skip a gazillion beats.

She looked down, taking a deep breath that didn't quite fill her lungs. "Rosemary Waterfalls," unable to talk, she whispered.

"Uh?"

She struggled to speak, barely breathing as she pointed to the left.

"Rosemary Waterfalls?" he repeated.

She nodded, pulling her book closer to her chest as she took another deep breath, feeling lightheaded.

"Where do you live?"

"Near Crawdell."

"Oh."

"How's working at Crawdell?"

"Good."

An awkward silence enveloped them.

"I've never seen you here before."

"We moved here from Northern Abby."

"Never heard of that, but it sounds nice."

"It's really a lovely place."

"What's special about it?"

"Witchcraft."

He raised an eyebrow. "Tell me about that, you sorceress."

Roslin giggled, and he took her book which she hugged it to her chest brew is brewing, asking if she liked making brews.

"I do! We do witchcraft all the time. But the people in Orckeez Bloom don't even talk about magic, like it's a different species thing."

He chuckled. "Not all of us are like that."

Then, in a surprising display of magic, he stopped the rain.

"What in wizardry is this?" she exclaimed.

He laughed, asking if she would come out from under the tree. When she stepped out, he snapped his fingers, and the rain resumed, heavier this time.

"Oh my god, I can't believe you did that!" she quizzed her wet hair.

He pulled her hand and asked, "Do you want to see thunder?"

"No!" she begged, laughing. "Stop the rain! I want to go home!"

"Really?" he teased.

Roslin stared down, taking her book back from him in the slowest way possible. He smiled, asking if she was impressed by his magic.

"I am!" she nodded.

"Bet you don't have magic like this back home."

"We don't."

"Maybe if you guys ever visited Nelblinxton-"

"I know that place."

"How?"

"My parents used to live there, but they ran away because her parents were against their marriage."

"That's sad, but good for them. So, you've never met your grandparents?"

"They've passed away."

"Sorry."

"It's fine. I never met them."

"Why not now?"

"They died. I heard that's it. Then my mom-" Her voice trailed off, and she fell silent. "I really like my mom. We share everything. She's more like a friend than a mother." Loviyan noticed her voice was trembling, and he realized she was about to cry.

He snapped his fingers again, stopping the rain. Roslin laughed and asked, "Teach me that trick!"

"Oh, you have to learn a whole book of spells for that."

"Just to learn how to snap?" she raised a brow looking furious.

"Okay, show me how, almighty witch!" he teased.

She pushed him aside and raised her hands to snap her fingers.

"You don't know how to snap?"

"I—"

"Look at your little fingers!" he chuckled.

"Ah, not my fingers!" she cried, playfully frustrated.

"So, you go to Vladimir's classes, right? How does he teach?"

"How do you know I'm in his classes?" she asked holding her laugh to see his reaction.

"I can read your mind."

"Really?"

"Yeah."

"What am I thinking right now?"

He blushed and looked away folding his lower lip, then pitched his voice in a playful tone: "Oh my god, who is this handsome wizard?"

Roslin's eyes widened, and she covered her laugh, her face turning red.

"No!" she yelled.

She was literally thinking he was hot.

"I'm not?" she must repeat that to avoid suspicion.

"If you think I am, then you are. If you don't, you're not."

"I think, you thought I am." he said with a smile.

She laughed to hide her embarrassment.

"Omg, it's getting late. My dad will be waiting for me."

"Fine! If it rains tomorrow, come to the same tree."

She waved at him, still giggling, and walked away, her heart racing.

"Oh my god" she covers her face and screamed after she saw him walk away.(FULL BOOK AVAILABLE IN AMAZON)
