Chapter 8 - Chapter 8:Descent into chaos

"Get up! Get up!"

A voice rang in the earpiece of a fallen soldier, who was at the verge of death,it sounded familiar. It was Captain Boka, the military's leader.

Captain Boka's voice cut through the chaos, his words sharp and urgent.

"Get up!" he screamed, his eyes scanning the surroundings with a mix of caution and concern.

"Get out of there, now!" Captain Boka's voice was low and urgent. "You can't stay there any longer, you need to move, right away."

Captain Boka hid beneath the ruins of a fallen building, and was screaming at a fallen soldier, who was lying flat on the ground and mortally wounded from the nuclear blast unleashed by the Xeradians.

Captain Boka saw his men suffer in pain and agony but there was nothing he could do to stop it.

So he just took cover beneath the ruins of a building to protect his own life.

But as the war outraged and more human soldiers were being slaughtered like animals.

Captain Boka couldn't keep on watching his men suffer and die so he decided to do something about it.

With desperation etched on his face, Captain Boka crawled out the ruins of the fallen building, holding a plasma rifle with him, his eyes fixed on the soldier who was lying flat, at the verge of death.

He grasped the soldier's hand, trying to reassure him, even as the captain's own voice cracked with emotion.

"Stay with me, soldier!" Captain Boka yelled, his words barely audible over the din of the devastation.

"I've got you!" You're going to make it!"

As the soldier's eyes began to glaze over, Captain Boka's grip on his hand tightened.

Due to the impact, the fallen soldier was in severe pain, the sharp pain in the head of the fallen soldier was pulsating and it felt like his head was about to implode.

He groaned, struggling to form clear words. "Help me... help me!" he muttered, his voice barely audible.

As he tried to speak again, the pain intensified, feeling like a thousand knives stabbing into his brain.

He winced, clenching his teeth, but the words refused to come. His mind was foggy, and his thoughts were disjointed.

An alien... he tried to say, but the word hung in his throat, unspoken. The pain was too overwhelming, making it impossible for him to form a complete sentence.

He was trapped in a living nightmare, unable to escape the agony that gripped his mind.

Captain Boka then pulled out a med kit from the fallen soldier's backpack and saw some dose of painkillers.

With shaking hands, he shot a dose of painkillers desperate to buy the soldier a few more precious moments.

But the fallen soldier was also bleeding out from his chest, Captain Boka frantically searched for anything that he could use to stop the bleeding on the soldier's chest.

But unfortunately, He couldn't find anything to stop the bleeding, so he tore a piece of material from his own cloth.

The captain's face was smeared with dirt and sweat, his eyes red-rimmed from the dust and debris as he applied pressure and pressed down on the chest of the fallen soldier who was bleeding profusely.

He then leaned in close, his voice a whispered promise.

"Stay with me man" "Stay with me"

"You're not going to die"

"Not like this. You're going to make it out of here, and we're going to take those creatures down together."

But even as he spoke, Captain Boka knew the odds were against him. Due to the impact of the nuclear blast, The fallen soldier had severe internal bleeding and burns all over his body.

The fallen soldier lay motionless, his body battered and bruised. As he coughed, he spat out a mixture of saliva and blood from his mouth and was also bleeding from his nose.

Yet, at this moment, the captain refused to give up. He clung to hope, no matter how fragile, and fought to save his soldier's life.

But unfortunately for him, it was too late, as Captain Boka tried to stabilize the fallen soldier, the soldier's eyes glazed over, and he slumped forward, passing out onto Captain Boka's arm.

Captain Boka's grip tightened instinctively, holding the soldier's limp form. For a moment, he hesitated, torn between staying with his injured comrade and ensuring their own survival.

With a heavy heart, Captain Boka gently laid the soldier down, his movements slow and deliberate.

He took a deep breath, assessing their surroundings and the dire situation. The sounds of chaos and gunfire still echoed through the air, and Captain Boka knew they couldn't stay there for long.

With resolute determination, Captain Boka carefully extracted his arm from beneath the soldier's weight.

He adjusted his gear, shouldered his pack, and began to move forward, scanning their surroundings for any signs of danger or potential escape routes.

The weight of leaving the soldier behind lingered, but Captain Boka's instincts screamed at him to keep moving, to survive.

The memory of the soldier who died on his arm hunted Captain Boka as he moved, fueling Captain Boka's resolve to stay alive and find a way to make it back with the other comrade.

The Xeradians seemed unstoppable, their technology far surpassing humanity's own.

As the battle raged on, the Xeridians got outranged and decided to finish up the human ones and fall all.

The Xeridians leader, a towering figure with eyes that burned like stars, raised his hand, a ball-like blast of energy explosive obliterated a nearby bunker.

The humans returned fire, but their bullets ricocheted harmlessly off the Xeridian's armor.

Panic set in as the human soldiers realized that they were vastly outgunned and outmatched.

Their desperate cries and pleas for backup crackled over the comms system as they scrambled to regroup and fall back to a safe position.

But it was too late, the alien armada was closing in, their advanced sensors locking onto the human forces last stronghold, and in a chilling, robotic voice, the alien commander announced,

"Nuclear strike protocol engaged. Prepare for launch... Targeting coordinates acquired... Launch sequence initiated...

Countdown to detonation: 3... 2... 1…"
