Synopsis
Su He stayed up all night reading a historical novel, only to wake up transmigrated into the book's world—becoming the biological mother of the story's ultimate villain. The original host, spoiled rotten by her parents, grew up obese, ugly, and foolish. She even resorted to drugging someone, resulting in the birth of twins and a forced marriage. Freshly transmigrated, Su He faces a hostile in-law family, severed ties with her birth parents, and a military doctor husband who fled to the border to avoid her—his fate unknown. Resigned to her fate, she stares at the dilapidated mud house, the empty rice jar, and the pitiful pair of little villains gazing at her. Now, she must work hard to earn money, lose weight, become beautiful, and change the twins' destinies. As for that absentee military doctor husband—if there's no love, then divorce it is!

Chapter 1 - 1

Were they really hers?

She spread her hands out—yep, no doubt about it, they were hers! Her hands were puffy and calloused, making Su He want to bawl.

She used to have a great figure, and while she wasn't a beauty queen, she was at least above average in looks.

But now… had she isekai'd as an overweight woman?

As if struck by a thought, Su He immediately searched the room for a mirror and soon found a small one inside a cabinet.

She picked it up and took a look—then almost had a coronary.

The woman in the mirror, with a moon face and jowls—was that really her?

Hell no! This was cruel and unusual punishment! Why had she been transmigrated into such a beached whale of a body?!

Vain as she was, Su He freaked the hell out.

She dug her nails into her palm—ouch! That hurt!

So it wasn't a dream. She had really transmigrated!

The room spun, and she couldn't believe she had ended up as an overweight woman because of this.

Just as Su He was having a meltdown about her plus-sized prison, the door to the room inched open. Two small heads peeked in, and their eyes met hers.

"Mom, you're awake," the little girl said.

The kid sounded equal parts hopeful and terrified, as if she didn't dare get too close.

So the noise she'd heard earlier was real—it wasn't a dream. It had been this little girl.

Wait—mom?!

Su He was pleasantly surprised. After all, she hadn't had family for a long time and had been single for thirty years, never been with a man. Now, she had suddenly become a mom—no labor pains required?

But she had no experience with kids and didn't know what to say to them.

Looking at the two children nervously watching her from the doorway, too scared to come in, Su He thought it was weird. She responded, "Hey, why aren't you coming in?"

After saying this, even Su He was surprised. Even though this body was seriously overweight, the original owner's voice was actually quite pleasant.

If this were her original time, using this voice for online dating could've catfished anyone easy.

"Mom, I didn't mean to wake you earlier," the little girl said, her voice trembling.

Su He: ?

...What was this kid talking about?

"I'm not blaming you," Su He replied, totally confused.

The two children at the door looked at each other, and then the little boy, who had been silent until now, spoke up.

"We haven't eaten anything since last night. We're so hungry."

Hearing this, Su He was shocked.

Holy crap, what had the original owner of this body been doing? No wonder the two kids looked so skinny and underfed. If they didn't eat properly, they'd wreck their stomachs.

"It's fine, I'll make you something to eat," Su He said and headed for the door.

The moment the children saw her walking toward them, they went ghost-white. Su He didn't understand why and asked in confusion, "What's wrong?"

Then, the little girl's tears poured down her cheeks like a faucet turned on. Sobbing, she said, "Mom, please don't hit us. We'll be very obedient."

Those words hit Su He like a punch to the gut—pain and rage flaring up. In that instant, she understood everything. The original owner of this body must've been beating or yelling at them all the time, which was why they were so terrified of her.
