Chapter 1 - Had To Find A Cheap Hotel

Hello Readers! My name is Elijah Williams. Nice to meet you there. I made my name. I was an orphan. Nobody wanted to adopt me either, at least in this magical world. Since I had no powers, I was of no use to anyone. So I had enough. I escaped the place at the age of 4. I didn't know my name, nor my past. I was confused in the world. I stayed on the streets for a while, until I was old enough to understand things. I worked and rented a house. When I had enough money, I attended school, but it was not good. Now, let's look into September 21st.

I woke up at 7:00 a.m. and got ready for school. Urgh, why did I even apply for school? Dammit past self! I thought first thing in the morning. I walked to school. When I arrived at school, a guy called Sebastian, my rival, came towards me. "Hey! Had to walk to school since you don't have money for public transport. My dad drives me to school in our car. So sad you don't have parents." He shouted. "I don't care whether your filthy father drives you to school or not," I told him. "Just back off." He came closer to me. We were a few centimeters away. "Oh? Why should I? Just because- you are jealous." He whispered in my ear. "I AM NOT! Just Fricking Back off DAMMIT!" I shouted, and everyone stared at me. "Too scared to say a rude word, I suppose-" The school bell rang. "Saved by the bell. I will find out the truth to why you are always angry in the morning, shortie." He told me and walked away. Shortie? Shortie? Who the hell is he calling 'shortie'? Heck. I just feel like sending him to hell right away. He keeps getting on my nerves. I thought. But then, I heard a voice.

"Hey! Am I late again?" It was one of my best friends, Henry. "Oh, hey, Hen." I told him. He opened his mouth and was about to speak, but he was disturbed. "Is it that guy again?" It was my other best friend, Michael. "Hey, Mic! You both are late, I see." I told them. "You haven't answered my question, Eli." "What question?" I pretended not to know. "I know you know what I asked, Eli. Did he hurt you?" He asked me. "Yes," I answered quietly. "What did he tell you this time?" Henry asked. " "Um, nothing harsh." "You're our fricking best friend, Eli. We know you are lying. "He... Told me I have no parents." "AND YOU DON'T CALL THAT HARSH?" Henry shouted. "I mean, it's... Okay... But for now, let's end here and get to our class. We can talk during class time, okay?" I asked as they nodded their heads. Let me tell you about their appearance. Henry had blond hair with blue eyes. He wore a school uniform, of course. He wore green trainers that were untied. As for Michael, he had long brown hair, but he tied it into a small ponytail. He had a nose piercing. His eyes were the color of sea blue. He wore P.E clothes or football ones because he joined the football club. Although Sebastian wasn't my friend, let me tell you about him. He had red hair and green eyes. He also wore P.E clothes because he played basketball, just like me.

It was Science class. There were three seats left. Two were beside each chair. But one was beside Sebastian. Both Michael and Henry insisted on sitting beside my rival. But I told them I had to face my problems, too. They nodded and sat together. "Missed me so much you had to sit beside me, shortie?" He teased. "Shut up," I told him. "Just don't talk when the professor comes." "Well, the professor's going for a cup of coffee. Once he comes back, get ready for detention. Sad you had to skip basketball class now." He whispered in my ear as I rolled my eyes.

The Science professor came into the classroom carrying his coffee. He seemed quite angry and also a bit confused. "ELIJAH, HENRY, MICHAEL!" He shouted. "YOU ARE LATE! AND I DO NOT ACCEPT THAT! YOU THREE WILL RECEIVE DETENTION. Oh, don't laugh, Sebastian. You, too, have detention. Now! Go! Don't ask me why, Sebastian. You know exactly why. Your words to Elijah are not acceptable, as well. Now, four of you, GO!" He yelled at the top of his lungs. We walked to the detention room awkwardly because my rival was there. "It was your fault, Eli." He told. "ELI?" I BLUSHED SO HARD, and my friends were surprised. He blushed, too. ""ER....WHATEVER!" He ran to the room. "Enemies to... Lovers?" Henry asked, smirking. "The heck. Hell nah, Hen! HE WILL NEVER BE MY- I AM NOT EVEN- URGH!" I shouted. "Pretty sure he heard you." Says Michael. "Plus, Hen's right. Your blushing isn't even gone. Let's just run fast to the room like him." He told. We ran there. Sebastian was already there. Two other students were also there. Sebastian covered his face with a book. I sat beside him. Henry and Michael told me to. I accidentally dropped my pencil. He grabbed it and made a shocked face. "I- I THOUGHT YOU WERE THE OTHER TWO STUDENTS. DAMMIT. JUST- here!" I took it from him, and I slept. When detention ended, we went outside. Henry and Michael were in the bathroom. Suddenly, someone grabbed my glasses. He laughed. It was Sebastian. "GIVE IT BACK, SEBASTIAN!" I shouted. "Then come get it." He told. He was very tall, taller than me. Some kid ran towards us and pushed me. I tried to hug him to not fall but missed. I was not on the floor but in his arms. He blushed but covered his face with his hair. I knew it because it was obvious. I was blushing, too. "Er... Sorry. Just take your glasses." He made me stand up and put on my glasses, bending his knees.

I went home. But I saw a note on my door. It says:

 EVICTION NOTICE:

YOU MAY NOT ENTER THIS ROOM. YOU

MAY ONLY ONCE YOU HAVE THE MONEY.

Wh-what? It though. I heard footsteps. It was my landlord. "I told you. You must have my money, or you will be evicted. Now get out of this apartment. " He told. I ran with some tears in my eyes. I didn't even beg. It would be no use. I texted my friends about the problem. I went to a restaurant and ate some cheap snacks as I searched for hotels. A bush outside the restaurant moved. I didn't dare check it. Henry and Michael came and sat on the chairs around the table and me. "I- I'm sorry. You can stay at any of our places." Henry told. "He's right. Feel free to come to ours!" Michael told. "Thanks, guys. But I will just book a cheap hotel for a few days. There's only one hotel I found. It was cheap. Only 1 dollar for a day!" I told them. They asked me if there were reviews. I shook my head. "No, there aren't any. But about 10,000 people stayed there. Even the celebrity Adriana." I told them. They told me she was lost after but it was my only choice for a hotel so I booked it for a month.
