Aiden tried to touch it with his hand, it was slightly cold but not enough to make his body shiver.
The ice dragon in his hand at first glance looked like a common depiction of dragons in Eastern culture; it was snake-like and lacked wings, its small legs similar to the claws of an eagle.
The image was exactly the same as that sketched earlier in the book of legends and myths. There, the sketch was very similar to what appeared in front of Aiden right now.
"I don't know what kind of food you'd eat," Aiden explained, gazing intently into the ice dragon's eyes, "I'd better bring some food from the kitchen and let you choose."
Aiden opened the bedroom door, leaving the ice dragon alone in his bedroom. Leonora saw Aiden stepping out of the room. She reflexively asked why there was an explosion in Aiden's room.
"There was no dangerous explosion. It was simply an explosion from my absorption of natural energy."
"Oh, so you've learned how to absorb and process natural energy? Like mages do," Leonora asked, and Aiden nodded briefly at his mother's question.
"It's pretty much like that. Can I get some food? My body feels tired and hungry after absorbing nature's energy," revealed Aiden.
Leonora nodded. She opened the cupboard and let Aiden take the food he liked.
There, Aiden saw the food cupboard of this house looked full of various types of food, such as bread, fruits, vegetables, beans, fish, and meat.
Aiden took one of each type of food, a total of six foods Aiden took that surprised Leonora. However, she didn't ask further about why he took all the food.
The young man returned to his room while carrying the six types of food. Right when he opened the door, Aiden was shocked to see the walls and furniture in his room turned frozen, the room temperature suddenly low below freezing.
"What the hell is going on?" Aiden asked.
He turned around, checking his room for the Ice Dragon's whereabouts. Apparently, it was upset and angry at being left behind by Aiden, its parent.
When it saw Aiden, it instantly returned to being happy and enthusiastic. It stepped with its little feet forward until it was in front of Aiden.
Aiden realized the reason behind his room being a temporary ice pole, his ice dragon was angry and showing its anger.
Normally, dragons spit out hot flames when they're angry, but ice dragons were different; they breathed out ice breath that froze everything.
Right in front of the Ice Dragon, Aiden served six types of food that it might be able to eat, ranging from bread to boiled chicken.
One by one, the food was sniffed by the Ice Dragon. Bread was passed, fruits were eaten by it, vegetables were passed, beans were passed, fish and meat were eaten by it.
" I think I know what to feed it," said Aiden.
Chicken was the hardest to come by, not only because he didn't have a farm, but because the money Leonora and Jack gave him wasn't enough to keep supplying the little dragon with chicken.
The best option was to go to the forest to look for berries or go to the river to fish. However, Aiden thought of going to the river to fish.
For today, the little dragon had enough to eat from him. However, for tomorrow and so on, Aiden would need to find options for his food.
"If Aetherna can tame dragons, then I might be able to do something similar with my abilities," Aiden replied.
Aiden closed his eyes, trying to focus his mind on activating his Eye of the Beast King talent.
A system panel appeared before Aiden, explaining that there were skills he could use to tame the ice dragon in front of him.
The first skill was Beast Control and the second skill was Beast Tamer. However, both skills showed significant differences in their usage.
[Talent: Eye of the Beast King]
[Rank: SSS-R]
[Skill:]
[1. Beast Control]
[2. Beast Tamer]
[3. Symbiotic Eye of the Beast]
[4. Beast Analysis Eye]
[5. Soul Beast Summoning]
Beast Control Skill was useful for controlling beasts, both physically, mind, and mentally. Beast Tamer Skill is the ability to contract beasts in magic contracts with mages.
The Beast Symbiosis Eye skill allows mages and beasts to share senses, perfect for spying.
The Beast Analysis Eye skill was useful for measuring the abilities and weaknesses of beasts, and the Soul Beast Summoning skill was useful for summoning beasts from a distance or another dimension, the ultimate skill of the Beast King's Eye talent.
Of the five skills, Aiden could at least use the beast tamer skill. That way, his little ice dragon could work with him on things.
Aiden's eyes turned red, a sign that his Eye of the Beast King talent was active and ready to use. A talent panel appeared before Aiden.
[Beast King's Eye Talent active]
[Skill: Beast Tamer]
[Initiate beast taming]
[Beast: Ice Dragon]
[Level: SSS]
[Race: Dragon]
[Start beast contract?]
Aiden confirmed the taming of the beast, drawing the attention of the ice dragon before him.
A red magic circle was created in the room, with strong gusts of wind blowing in all directions, creating a commotion that was much more frantic than before.
Leonora heard the commotion, making her even more worried. She asked from behind the door of Aiden's room, Aiden responded while saying that he was fine.
[Warning!]
[The contract between the witch and the beast requires three important materials:]
[1. Beast Blood]
[2. Mage's Blood]
[3. Glacirion Gem (0/1)]
[Contract failed!]
'Damn!I didn't expect that I would need materials to do this magic contract,' Aiden replied.
He opened his basic magic book again, focusing on the page that explained gems and magic materials.
From the page, Aiden found that there was a lot of information he needed.
Glacirion gems were clearly written in the book, useful for enhancing the magic attributes of ice elemental beasts or mages, as well as the base material of magic contracts, weapon enhancements, and the formation of ice elemental magic formations.
According to the explanation in the book, Glacirion was a rare gem. Even if someone sells it, the price will be high and marketable.
"The ice element is formed from the two dominant elements of water and wind. Only a few people can do it because it requires a lot of concentration and creativity," Aiden replied.
"Where can I find this gem?" the young man asked, confused.
While Aiden was watching his sleeping ice dragon, he remembered the nest where the dragon egg came from. There, the aura of the ice element was strong.
It was possible that Aiden had a clue to the whereabouts of the Glacirion Gem there, because of all the places in the city, it was the only one with great potential.
"Looks like I'll have to go back up to the fog hill," Aiden explained, sighing.
Aiden turned his head, noticing the book of 1st-level fire elemental magic spells he had yet to learn.
"Maybe I'll go up there again after I learn one or two fire magic spells. That'll be much more useful than a dagger."
