Sylas and Aurora were still in the cave. Their attention was drawn to Aiden who remained clearly trapped inside a block of ice as a result of Aurora's magic.
After a few minutes passed, Sylas turned around and noticed the beast taming contract mark on the dragon's forehead. What a surprise to Sylas! The contract mark didn't disappear.
'What? The mark didn't disappear? If that's the case, then there's a possibility that Aiden is still alive,' Sylas explained.
Sylas asked the ice dragon to remove the chunk of ice. However, Aurora wasn't listening.
The dragon was still silent, focused on staring ahead at its master trapped in a block of ice. Aurora was as confused as Sylas.
Unexpectedly, Sylas saw clearly that Aiden opened his eyes inside the block of ice. His hands brought forth low-level fire magic, enough to partially free his body.
"He's still alive? How marvelous!" praised Sylas.
With Aiden's hand freed, he brought up more fire magic and directed it at his upper body.
The block of ice imprisoning Aiden shattered into small pieces like shards of glass. Aiden fell back with a short breath, feeling suffocated while trapped there.
"I... did it!" said Aiden.
He looked at the back of his hand, a mysterious black pattern appearing after the beast taming contract was completed.
The young man tried to get up, and Sylas walked over to help Aiden up. The old man's eyes were fixed on the Beast Tamer pattern on Aiden's hand.
"Congratulations! The pattern on the back of your right hand is a sign that you've tamed a beast," Sylas replied.
"So, this is a sign of a contract for me?" Aiden asked.
"Once you get that mark, it will be easy for you to tame many beasts that are below your Ice Dragon level in the future," Sylas replied.
Aurora was jealous and worried when Sylas grabbed Aiden from the side. The ice dragon flew forward and separated the two of them, Aurora roared aggressively at Sylas again.
'Why does this damn dragon keep hating me?' Sylas asked.
Aiden fell down again. However, Aurora's ice magic was able to restore his body. Slowly, Aiden recovered to his previous condition.
Aurora flew around Aiden with her eyes fixed forward. Her demeanor was not as aggressive as before, Aiden suspected that the contract mark had affected her.
The young man saw Aurora's aggressive attitude directed at Sylas. Aiden didn't know the reason why Aurora was acting like that towards Sylas, but it was better for Aiden to start calming Aurora down.
"Calm down. He's not a bad person," Aiden explained, rubbing the head of Aurora right beside him.
Aurora roared once forward to scare Sylas, then returned to normal behavior. Sylas was a bit frightened, because Aiden's beast was strong enough for him to fight.
"With that dragon by your side, you'll be safe, Aiden," Sylas explained.
"I've got the beast taming contract, what's next?" asked Aiden, wanting to know more.
"There are many things you can do after you tame a beast. However, beast tamers usually train their two-magic synchronization skills," Sylas replied.
"Synchronization magic?" asked Aiden, and Sylas nodded.
Sylas explained briefly about it. Synchronizing two magics meant combining two different magics between the Tamer and the Beast.
Once the synchronization was formed into one main magic, then Aiden could perform manipulations on it.
A brief example of magic manipulation was that he could make his beast disappear, enter its soul, fight at full power, heal his beast, or even change the appearance of his beast as desired —the hardest level.
According to Sylas, they had to synchronize the two magics so that Aiden could feel safe going anywhere without having to let Aurora appear in public.
"Then how do I do it?" Aiden asked.
"By synchronizing your mind, heart, and emotions," Sylas replied.
Again, Sylas made a statement that was quite confusing to Aiden. However, he knew what Sylas meant.
Aiden's eyes looked up at Aurora. He hadn't felt any of those three things, and Aiden didn't even know what Aurora was thinking.
Instinctively, Aiden stepped toward the ice dragon. His right hand stretched forward until it touched the dragon's forehead, just above the beast taming contract mark.
[Two-magic synchronization begins ]
[Warning! The process of two magic synchronization can be varied. Differences in the abilities of the Tamer and the Beast are affected]
Seeing the panel appear in front of Aiden made Aiden stop his activities for a moment. He released his hand that had caused the two magic synchronizations to be delayed.
"Again, a mage's ability is required for the two-magic synchronization process to go smoothly. You need to understand how to manipulate the magic energy in your body," Sylas explained, crossing his arms.
"I can't leave her. It would be dangerous and make Aurora sad," Aiden replied.
Sylas saw the anxiety in Aiden's heart regarding his beast. He patted his magic pouch and took out an iron ring with a yellow gem on it.
He handed the ring to Aiden while explaining its purpose.
"That's a beast dimension ring. That magic item is usually used by those who have trouble manipulating large numbers of beasts," Sylas replied.
"I think this ring will be very useful to you," he continued, handing the ring over by flying it forward.
Aiden received the ring and looked at it carefully. Soon, he put it on and felt a cool sensation on the finger of his right hand.
"How do I use this?" Aiden asked.
"Aim the ring at the beast you want to keep while commanding your own beast to enter the ring. That's all."
The young man nodded, then did exactly as Sylas said. He pointed the ring at Aurora and commanded the Ice Dragon to enter.
Slowly, Aurora's body turned into blue magic particles according to her magic element. The magic particles flew up and hit the yellow gem on Aiden's ring, which suddenly turned an icy blue color.
"It worked!" said Aiden, pleased.
"Congratulations, you can now summon your beast at will. However, you must remember that it needs a supply of magic energy from its master," Sylas explained.
"Since you can't perform a two-magic synchronization yet, the best option to supply its magic energy is to feed it, either common food or elemental gems," Sylas replied.
"I see, thank you for guiding me, Master Sylas," Aiden said, starting to regard Sylas as his master.
"No problem. Now, let me teach you something else about magic. I don't think you'll encounter any problems since you've successfully performed the Beast Taming contract."
