Sitting in a small room, which housed a basic coffee table in the center of it and a few pillows as seats for the floor. The group sits around the table, enjoying a beverage as Chirashi prods Kairo for information.
"Go on now, let's hear it." Chirashi says as she takes a sip of her drink.
Ingrid was sitting with his arm propped up on his right leg, and Marin was sitting on her knees looking at the floor, as she was still embarrassed about the situation from earlier.
"Well, its kinda hard to explain. But in the moment the statue's sword collided against me, I thought I was truly going to die there. Even with my guard up, I thought this was it; this is how I die. It was scary, terrifying even. Yet I felt this weird screaming in the back of my head..." reported Kairo as he continued reiterating what he experienced from the training session.
"Screaming? What was it saying?" Questioned Chirashi curiously.
"I couldn't make out the words, but I could just feel the intent, the will of whatever it was. It was pushing me through, so I embraced it. I set it free, and it just happened. My sword erupted with that soul energy, and it... it—."
"It started eating the statue's sword..." Interrupted Chirashi as she continued taking another drink.
"I had my thoughts after it had appeared the first time. But what really solidified it for me was the second and third times you used it." Chirashi, she stated as she set her cup down.
"I think I understand what you mean, Chirashi." Ingrid cut in as he continued to look back on the recent event.
"Kairo, when you used the attack the third time, it crumbled the sword into pieces and ate it. You were attacking the sword instead of the statue. Which explains why when you hit it the second time, the ability had no effect." Ingrid explained.
"Sword eating... Wait, you're telling me—."
"Precisely, Kairo Neru... Your ability unleashes a wave of soul energy and eats the blade of any opponent you face!" Chirashi expresses as she stands up with proud confidence from her explanation of his newly acquired power.
Chirashi smiling so strongly as she jumps over the table and lands on Kairo, pinning him to the ground.
"You must feel as excited as I do and want to get back to training! Right! Right?!" Chirashi exclaimed her kimono's window being the only thing Kairo could focus on, causing his nose to start bleeding.
"C-Chirashi, maybe Kairo would be able to function if you moved off him." Marin insisted as she leaned over the table; however, as she did, her chest quickly knocked over her cup and spilled her drink all over her shirt.
"Looks like you got a little something there, Marin." Ingrid pointed out.
But before he could react, he was instantly hit in the head by Marin's cup as she launched it full force at him. Knocking him onto his back in shock.
"You shut up!" Marin shouted, creating enough of a situation to pull Chirashi off Kairo.
"Oh girl, you can't be wearing that; it'll stain quick! Hand it over, and I'll wash it for you." Chirashi quickly pulled Marin's shirt off her before she even commented on her response.
Marin's face lights up red as she clasps shut to try and cover her chest.
"Chirashi! You're so not funny!" Marin screamed as she darted off into another room. Leaning from behind the doorway to keep her head as the only visible part of her.
"On the contrary, I think I'm the funniest around." Chirashi smiles with a catlike mouth as she twirls Marin's shirt around on her finger.
While the group was distracted, a hidden scout began retreating sneakily to report back their information.
Solnera Village—Sixth Court Marshal's Quarters
"An ability that eats the sword of his opponent?!" Ota stands in shock at this information.
"Are you positive this is what you heard?" questions Ota as he sets down the scroll immediately.
"Yes, Court Marshal Ota! It was clear as day." The scout replies as he stands respectfully.
"Then this could be a problem. An ability like that could be not only a problem for us. But also for the duty of the Sentarii. Let alone any swordsman to exist..." Ota stands concerned as he stares at the scroll's words.
"Thank you for your work. I'll take this to the other marshals. You're dismissed." Orders Ota, allowing the scout to exit his room.
But Ota couldn't help but continue to stare at the scroll, reading the words over and over.
"It's similar... way too similar." Ota mutters to himself with worry in his voice.
The Soul Court
The Seven Court Marshals gather as Ota is ready to bring his info to light.
"So Ota, what could you possibly have that would require us to gather so quickly?" Mocked The Fifth Marshal.
"Well, Aisu, something I'm afraid we all will not be happy to hear." Ota replied.
"If that's so, then why wouldn't we want to inform the Sentarii Monarch?" The Fourth Marshal questioned.
"Because it'd be best if we handled this ourselves, Nagachi. This information could cause panic if it spread." Ota quipped in response.
"Well, get on with it then." Aisu demanded, with the other Marshals agreeing with him.
"As you wish... As you all are aware, there is a proxy within the earth realm—."
"Yes, yes, cut the recap and get on with it." Interrupted Aisu with a scoff in his voice.
"I'm getting there; why don't you listen and stop yapping?" Ota's soul started radiating from him as his glare latched onto Aisu.
*CLAP* *CLAP*
"Now, now, Ota. As much as I'd love to see you put Aisu in his place. I believe this is no time for fighting, yes?" The First Marshal questioned with sarcastic curiosity.
Ota's soul began to slowly retract as he exhaled.
"You're right, Kaen... I'm afraid this is no time to be fighting against ourselves and instead against something far worse... Marshals, I'm afraid The Sword Eater has returned in a new form."
