Chapter 1 - Chapter One

Abraham began to head to work just like any other day. It was a rather boring job and boring life. Every day was more or less the same with very minor differences. Now at age twenty nine you'd expect that he would have at least a few friends or have made it somewhere in life but alas here Abraham is a purely normal office worker that nobody on the planet really ever thinks of. So, after getting off of work just like any other day he expected to just simply head home without a fuss but instead he died purely do to a strand of awful occurrences onset by pure coincidence merely blocks away from his home.

At six thirty four in the afternoon Abraham was walking home after taking the train to the station nearest his humble abode when he was walking underneath a skyscraper with a man squeegeeing the it many windows and across from a bank that a robbery had just started in. One of the people who was in the bank started to freak out quite badly and one of the robbers fired a bullet angled up towards the man's head as he was rather tall and missing. At this specific angle it severed the window cleaner's wire that was holding him up after shattering one of the windows in the bank and Abraham being shocked from hearing the gunshot was frozen in place right underneath where the window cleaner was. Not noticing the fairly heavy man falling towards his head Abraham got out his phone to call the police however unfortunately for both him and the hostages in the bank the call would never go through as before he could make it the window cleaner hit Abraham's head, snapping his neck and killing him right then and there. Now quite luckily for the hostages, the window cleaner lived and called the police for both cleaning up the fresh corpse that just appeared and for getting help for the bank that is currently being robbed (he used that bank and didn't want it to have any issues).

When Abraham next opened his eyes he felt different particularly when he saw an absolutely giant person many times his size holding him. This caused him to cry out in shock but when he couldn't speak and only heard the cries of a baby he realized the true situation that he is in. Now, it wasn't much later before he realized that he cannot understand anything that the people were saying however he made sure to remember it in case it had important information later. He also took note of the clothes the people were wearing and architecture of the building they were in and figured that he was in quite a different era than he was in before.

Very unfortunately for Abraham he came to mere hours before the village that he was born in got raided. At this moment a old bandit named Bodal about thirty eight years old was planning the raid with another younger bandit about twenty three years old named Rolver watching and learning from the more experienced one. Now for the most part these bandits which numbered around seventy were quite awful and had murdered, raped, stolen, and extorted many people however Rolver was different and while he had killed many a people he still had some humanity left in him.

So, when the raid began all was going swimmingly for the bandits until Rolver, Bodal, and two other bandits stumbled upon Abraham's home. Now there were about seven people in this house and three of them died before they could even begin to defend against their assailants thus leading to four people left in the house one of which was a baby. Then about two minutes later two more were sliced down and there was just the baby and the mother left.

The mother began to plead "At least spare my baby" many, many times to four pairs of ear to which the words fell dead to three of. Rolver quickly thought up a plan because he still had some shred of conscience deep down and he wanted the baby to live and he raised his blade and struck the mother down. As he knew that if he were to spare the mother then he would be killed then and there.

Rolver then said to Bodal and the other bandits with him "No need to kill the baby. It will die soon on its own anyway". The other bandits not wanting to stain their blades with the blood of a child and convinced it would die soon anyway agreed. At this point the raid was practically over and every bandit began to gather their goods and make camp for the night. Rolver then told the others that he needed to go relieve himself and walked away from the camp. He then headed to the house that the baby was hopefully still in.

Rolver then heard a voice from behind him "Y'know it's never really the best idea to be too sentimental or emotional in this world. Those are feeling spared for the rich". This voice came from Bodal and he had a serious answer on his face.

Rolver responded with "I can't let such an innocent young child die" all while having a hint of sadness into his voice.

Bodal said "Alright. In lieu of your stellar work for and with me for the past year, I shall let this go and wish you the best. I see no use in trying to kill you or that child over this. Needless violence isn't good" he said with a slight frown and then began to walk away.

Rolver with a rather incredulous expression on his face as that was something Bodal would not typically say.Rolver now had no reason not to head into the house and grab the baby and went away from the camp off into the nearby woods and so he did. He thought If I can merely avoid the bandits for three days then they will be gone.

The little baby Abraham having witnessed all the horrible things that happened and being horribly scared swore that he would get revenge on all those people as though it may have been short he felt deep affection from those that got murdered on that day.

During those three days Rolver discovered that if he boiled meat and water and smashed it into small miniscule pieces he could feed the baby. Rolver feeling fairly certain that the bandits were no longer near the village headed back to it and decided to pick the least damaged house from the raid and patch it up so that it was in livable condition. He also grabbed the clothes off the many corpses in the village to make clothes for the baby as the bandits did not take them because they were cut and torn so they weren't immediately useful or sellable. Rolver also buried every single one of the bodies in the village.

Now, with the basic needs taken care of barring food which Rolver could easily take care of as he was a fairly good hunter time began to pass and days, weeks, months, and even a few years passed by without a hitch until two weeks after young Abraham turned seven. Young Abraham during this time had finally begun to learn how to speak from Rolver and could now speak many phrases and words however he was still far from being fluent. Now some important pieces of information that Abraham learned from this was that the year is eleven hundred sixty three and that they seem to be in a country called Limbergit. On this day Abraham began to hear the clap of horse hoofs hammering down on the road that lead to this desolate, ruined, and isolated town. He began to see a rather ornate looking carriage coming down the road.
