Sometime in the 500 AD… An Invasion occurred in this world. An Invasion that was not ordained by fate. An Invasion led by an Invader who did not belong from this world. An Invasion that changed the course of this World forever.
After the war, an empire was born, Known as the Selvarian Empire, brimming with the remnants of the War and the newfound power of Magic
YEAR 1244
Man: We're surrounded!
A Man screams. The man is a middle aged man, his hair is short and greyed out. He's wielding a two-handed longsword and is with another woman, also middle aged who has a bow on her left hand. The two are surrounded by a bunch of wild goblins.
Woman: I don't want to die here!
The Man puts his weapon down in defeat
Man: All we wanted was to get some quick coins...
As they two close their eyes and brace themselves for their deaths, They hear a loud Thud in front of them followed by a blast of wind. The two opened their eyes to see that a sword had fallen onto a bunch of the wild goblins and pierced the ground. The sword's blade is dark in colour and the hilt seems to have gold trims on them.
The Goblins turn their attention to the sword for just a moment before charging the two.
Man: What the- A sword?
In that moment, two blades of glowing blue air flew from behind the two and hit the horde of charging goblins.
Man: (Shocked) Is that... Wind Magic? But its glowing blue? What's going on?
And before anyone could react, A man dashes towards the Goblins from behind the two. His hair, golden, his eyes, Blue like the ocean. He's wearing a black leather armour with blue and white trims.
He dashes to the sword and cuts all of the goblins down without any magic. Once he's done, he looks at the two who are on the floor, scared and relieved at the same time.
Adventurer: Hey. Are you all okay?
Man: We're fine… yeah
Woman: Same.
Adventurer: Alright. There's a guild building not far from here. There aren't any other monsters in this forest right now so you both can make a run for it.
Man: Thank you so much
As the two leave, the woman turns around,
Woman: What's your name?
The Adventurer smiled and replied,
Man: The name's James S. Mgrath
The Element of Chaos
In the simple village of Lorian of the Selvarian Empire, located west of The Roman Empire, James Mgrath walks up to the Desk of the Adventurers Guild.
James: Hey
Guild Master: Hello James, To what end, do I owe this pleasure? Any commissions you'd like to take?
James laughed slightly
James: You can drop the formalities Peter, I'm not here to take any commissions
Peter: (sighs) Damm, Saying that to everyone gets annoying the 10th time
James: I know, so what's been going on since I left town?
Peter: Nothing much in fairness. But I did hear that Alice left the Guild
James perked his ears in curiosity
James: Wait, Alice left the guild?
Peter: Yeah, But just between us, I looked into it and It was a secret resignation. Everyone around here thinks she's dead
James: (laughing) Yeah! It's impossible to imagine a adventure like Alice would die from the commissions the Guild receives
Peter looks at James with a disappointed look,
Peter: The Guild's commissions aren't all that easy you know?
James: (jokingly) Ah well, not for everyone I suppose. Anyway, I'm going now. Get me a good quest next time
Peter then stops James,
Peter: I forgot to let you know, Melaich is waiting for you at the usual spot. He said he wants to talk
James thanks Peter and leaves the desk. James goes to the 'usual spot mentioned by Peter to meet Melaich. His information broker, also James's possibly only friend.
James sees Melaich standing on the edge of a windy cliff, looking over the blue sky and its huge white clouds. Melaich was a brown skinned man with brown hair. He had honey coloured eyes. He was wearing a normal leather belt that had many pockets. He was also wearing a white long-handed shirt covered by normal leather armour and wore black leather gloves on his hands. He was wearing rectangular glasses and also seemed to be wearing a silver chain Inside his white shirt.
James stands next to Melaich next to the Cliff, Melaich notices him and immediately hugs him
Melaich: James, It's been a while
James: Yeah, It's been a while for sure
Both of them stop hugging and James asks Melaich why he told James to come here quickly
Melaich: I called you here because I have a really good mission
James: Oh really? Is that why you didn't show up for a week?
Melaich: Yes I was gathering information on it, It's highly dangerous though.
James: Doesn't matter. What's the objective and pay?
Melaich: 10000 Coins for a retrieval mission
James: 10000….. A handsome pay for a retrieval would mean… It's from one of the Capitals
Melaich: (Snapping his finger) Bingo!
James: What's the Job?
Melaich: Recently, a group of people from a group called the Demon Parade stole a map to a Cave containing a Red Gem. The group killed a ton of soldiers while doing this. The commission is to find the group and the requirements, neutralize the group, and secure the Gem.
James: Interesting…. Why the fuck would they say that to the people? I mean, I knew they were idiots but, not this idiotic, y'know
Melaich: Would you listen completely for once? The King and his ministers only told this to the most reliable of the commission brokers
James: Since when did you become reliable?
Melaich: Since yesterday, Heh
James: It seems like a simple find and secure mission. Why call me?
Melaich paused for a second
Melaich: It might be related to The Arcanium
James: (pauses for a second) What! How?
Melaich: I need my commission first
James reluctantly declined but Melaich convinced James to stick with him for this mission, just this once. James sighed and decided to trust Melaich on his judgement.
James: 10%, That's your commission
Melaich: If you think it's worth it, 15%
James: (smiles) Why not?
James and Melaich ride horses towards a small hill, while travelling on the horses, Melaich starts to bring up the connection he dug up.
Melaich: Listen James, While I was investigating this group, I found something interesting.
James: What did you find? Mind reading is your Magic Treasure so I hope you found something worthwhile
Melaich cracks up a little,
Melaich: Well coming to the point, I found that one of the very first recorded activities was 3 years ago, at Lake Woodling.
James: You're joking
Melaich: No, I'm not
James continued to ride his horse towards the hill and asked Melaich to confirm,
James: So… Let me get this straight, They came from the same place where my Great, Great, Great Grandfather defeated The Arcanium?
Melaich: Maybe. I'm still not sure about the full details. The Kingdom records only shows so much
James: (sarcastically) You get that 15% now
James Mgrath and his friend Melaich found the mining system that the Demon Parade had dug up, and The Demon Parade wore black robes with Red and bronze Trims. They were wearing black masks and hoods making them indistinguishable for each other, if not for their weapons.
James and Melaich sit on an elevation near the mine entrance rock and discuss their options.
James: So… We need only ONE of them alive, right?
James and Melaich look at the group with makeshift binoculars. They look around for a few moments, and James finds a group member dressed just like the others, except he has a silver trim on his robe.
James: There! See that guy with the silver trim.
Melaich: Right, he looks like he has a higher position. So, how do we do this? You want to use the move we used on Witchbottle?
James: Nope, you sit here and wait for my signal, and I… go do my thing.
James jumps into the sky, and Melaich puts his hand to his head and, sighs as he shakes his head.
Melaich: Oh my god, Please don't do anything stupid
Melaich now closely watches the group through his makeshift Binoculars The group is spread out in multiple circular layers with at least 3 people in one layer. They stand guard next to the mine entrance from where a shining blue light emanates. A man in the group is patrolling on the edges, and in the blink of an eye, he's disappeared.
One of the group members notices the sudden absence of the man patrolling. He alerts the group in silence by lighting a spark in front of their faces and signals the rest of the group to move to the position where the man disappeared.
The Men put their hands up and each seems to have a magic element ready to attack or defend if needed. Then suddenly a voice is heard from the sky.
James: Hey! Up here!
The men look up to see James, eyes glowing blue, floating in the sky. He creates blades of energy that hit the men while dodging attacks from them in the sky by maneuvering them. Only the man in silver trims remains. As James sees this, he wears a huge grin on his face.
