Alex and Sophia sped through the streets of the city, weaving in and out of traffic as they tried to shake the SUV. They had managed to stay one step ahead of their pursuers so far, but Alex knew it was only a matter of time before they were caught.
"Hold on!" Sophia shouted, taking a sharp turn onto a side street.
Alex gripped the door handle tightly, his heart racing with excitement. He glanced in the rearview mirror, seeing the SUV take the turn behind them.
"We're not losing them," he said, his voice tight with tension.
Sophia's eyes locked onto the road ahead, her expression focused. "I know a place where we can lose them," she said. "Just hold on."
She took another sharp turn, this time onto a narrow alleyway. The SUV followed, its tires screeching as it took the turn.
Alex held his breath as Sophia navigated the alleyway, dodging trash cans and leaping over puddles. The SUV was right behind them, its occupants shouting and honking the horn.
But Sophia was a skilled driver, and she knew the streets of the city like the back of her hand. She took a final turn, this time onto a crowded street, and the SUV was forced to slow down.
Alex let out a breath as they merged into the traffic, losing the SUV in the sea of cars.
"We did it," Sophia said, a smile spreading across her face. "We lost them."
Alex nodded, his heart still racing with excitement. "For now," he said. "But we know they'll be back. We need to get Vinnie to a safe place, and then we need to start making our move against Francesca and Marco."
Sophia nodded, her expression serious. "I know a place where we can hide Vinnie," she said. "But we need to be careful. Francesca and Marco have eyes and ears everywhere. We can't trust anyone."
Alex nodded, his mind racing with the possibilities. He knew that they were taking a huge risk by going up against Francesca and Marco, but he also knew that they had no choice. They had to take them down, no matter what it took.
