Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Seeking Food

Chapter 2: Seeking Food

"Grumble..." Fang Bie, touching his stomach where these unintelligible sounds were coming from, couldn't help but feel a little annoyed.

Yesterday, he was so engrossed in chopping trees that he couldn't stop himself, and he also spent a lot of time building a house. He only had four or five apples in his hand, but he didn't feel particularly hungry.

Unfortunately, such a situation couldn't actually last long. Fang Bie had just woken up and felt a wave of weakness and powerlessness. The warning from his stomach clearly told him that he should eat something.

Fang Bie had no choice but to take the last apple from his bedside, finish it in a few bites, hastily take care of his personal hygiene, and embark on a journey to find food.

The bed in MC is very magical. No matter what time of night you fall asleep, the moment you wake up, it's always just dawn, and your spirit will be restored to its best.

Fang Bie held the several tools he had made from wood earlier: a Wooden Axe, Wooden Pickaxe, and Wooden Sword. His heart immediately felt much more at ease.

Through his Personal Inventory and Item Inventory in front of him, he could basically tell that this should be a version of MC before 1.9. The iconic left-hand Item Inventory hadn't appeared, which meant there wouldn't be things like shields.

Fang Bie held the sword in his hand and casually swung it twice. After all, he was just an ordinary person and didn't have any particularly powerful combat skills. Holding the sword was more to give himself courage.

However, according to his understanding, the monsters in this game were actually quite clumsy and wouldn't pose too much of a threat to him, except for that Skeleton Archer who could shoot arrows half an inch into stone, also known as the 'noob'.

Fang Bie closed the door. Yesterday, he had spent a whole day finally making a somewhat decent house to put here. This Mountain Top was the highest among the surrounding Mountain Slopes. As long as he didn't go too far, he should be able to find his way back.

This World, although called "My World", was actually not that different from an ordinary world. The soil was still sloped, not truly like the block-by-block steps in the game.

However, the trees were exactly the same as in the game, but Fang Bie hadn't seen anything particularly blocky yet, except for the sun overhead, of course.

This World felt just like the Wilderness he had been to before. If it weren't for the Wooden Sword in his hand, Fang Bie would even have been in a daze, wondering if he had returned to the modern world again.

Unlike yesterday when he walked and chopped trees, his goal today was very clear: to find enough food to live on. So, Fang Bie quickly walked towards this bare mountain and arrived at a plain that looked very flat.

There were a few sheep grazing on the grass. The grassland, which was half a person's height, concealed their figures. Fang Bie quickly raised his sword and quietly crept towards these sheep.

Yesterday, because he had used brute force to kill these sheep, they hadn't dropped anything like mutton. He didn't know if it was related to the rules of this world.

If it hadn't been for the two pieces of wool that dropped, he wouldn't have known where to sleep last night. If there was no bed, he would probably have to hide in the house, listening to the sounds of the monsters howling outside.

He had hunted sheep yesterday and knew that these sheep wouldn't just let you attack them casually. This was different from the situation in the game.

In MC, animals would also start to run away after being attacked, but their escape was often erratic, and their speed wasn't particularly fast. Most people could catch up and deliver a couple more hits to completely kill them.

But in this real world, he didn't know if it was because Fang Bie was running too slowly or if these animals had a talent for speed. He often had to chase for a long time to catch up with the animal and deliver the final blow.

So, Fang Bie learned from yesterday's lesson. He wasn't as energetic as yesterday, and he needed to kill these sheep with a single blow.

This had to be said to be a difference between him and the characters in the game. The animals in this world seemed to have no vital points. Even if he had hit the sheep's head many times yesterday, it hadn't made the sheep die immediately.

But today, he deliberately walked to a very peculiar corner. In that corner, there were three sheep silently grazing on the grassland at their feet.

Fang Bie didn't attack them immediately. Instead, he quietly dug up the grassland around him. His hands possessed a magic like the rules of this world. Soon, the surrounding grassland was turned into soil blocks in his hands, about seventeen or eighteen of them.

Then, Fang Bie slowly walked to the higher Mountain Slope, releasing the blocks in his hand one by one, enclosing these three sheep in a small, narrow 2x2 area.

In fact, this was another difference from the game. In the game, each block was a standard cube of 1x1x1 size, and no matter what kind of creature, they could actually easily step over these blocks.

But coming to a world similar to reality, it was far from the case. One block was a full meter high. Even Fang Bie himself needed effort to climb up, and how could these sheep, only half his height, escape from these meter-high blocks?

Fang Bie stood on these soil blocks very easily, and with a few sword strikes, he finished off these three sheep. A difference from yesterday appeared: in addition to a few pieces of wool, Fang Bie also saw mutton that had dropped.

"This shouldn't be version 1.7.10, at least not purely this version," Fang Bie thought slowly. "Sheep in this version don't drop mutton unless a food mod is added..."

Fang Bie once again thought of other things, eagerly wanting to know which version of the game this world belonged to, or if it was even a mixed world. This seemed particularly important to him.

"Since there's no way to know now, I can only wait until I make an Enchanting Table later on to make plans..." Fang Bie thought in his heart, putting the few pieces of mutton and wool into his backpack.

The Enchanting Table is a particularly useful item in this game for the mid-to-late game. It can use some experience you get after killing monsters to enchant equipment with special attributes.

And these pieces of equipment often have very strange or powerful effects, which can be of great help to your life, survival, and exploration in this world.

Fang Bie could clearly remember that different versions had different requirements for the Enchanting Table. He just needed to click on it and take a look when the Enchanting Table was built, and he should be able to figure it out.

As for now, he needed to find some more food.
