Chapter 4 - Chapter 3 : Reincarnation

IT HURTS SH#T! SH#T! SH#T! SH#T!

Ryan had learnt, when your vision fades to black, it's not going to be a fun experience when you wake up.

----------------------------------------

Reincarnating, is not a fun experience.

First, your soul has to travel from your home planet (Earth) and then travel between the ream of life and death. This, takes a huge toll on your soul ; especially weaker ones.

Second, You have to escape the in-between. Think of it like an intersection between all of the realms. You would typically go straight for the realm of death, also known as, the after-life. But you could also turn into another realm. This new realm, hosts a multitude of gods who bless the main planet, Endura. Escaping the in-between takes a huge toll on the soul. Imagine a beaten-up car that still operates fine but has a huge dent in the side. Now, imagine if a truck rammed into it going 80 mph (128.75 km/h). Definitely, not a fun experience.

Finally, you have to be born again. This last step isn't very hard (for the child), but is definitely a very weird experience after your soul is damaged so badly.

----------------------------------------

"What the f#ck just happened?"

This was the first thought of Ryan as he finally finished the process of reincarnation.

His next thought was, "What the f#ck is happening?"

He felt his body slowly moving towards a circle of light. His brain, extremely disoriented at the time, had no clue what the hell was happening.

He later learnt, this was child birth.

As Ryan slowly opened his eyes, he noticed he was in a small house. Wooden floors, a slight brown trim on the walls, which were, as you guessed, also wooden. The only thing that seems wasn't made of wood was the small stone fireplace he noticed in the distance not too far away from his bed. He was looking around the room as he started to hear muffled voices.

Ryan tried to say, "Where am I?" and instead what came out what "poijegripojegt" in typical baby tongue. He then, proceeded to cough violently. The reincarnation process was rough and hard for a child to experience. He heard shouting in the background but couldn't quite make out what the people were saying.

Ryan then saw, who he assumed to be his mother. It was a young female in her late twenties with light brown hair and blue eyes. Standing next to her, was who he assumed to be the father, A tall, muscular man with dark brown hair who had blue eyes as well. As his brain regained understanding of what the f#ck was actually happening, he was wondering who the last person is. The last person, a man in a dark suit, had an expression of boredom. Almost like he dealt with this on a daily basis. It took Ryan a minute to figure out that this was in fact, the doctor who helped him have a safe delivery.

The influx of information overwhelmed him and he started to... cry? He heard the "shh" whisper that adults use to try and stop kids from crying. Ryan did not at all like being treated as a child. His life on Earth was no where near the best as a kid since he was orphaned and was bullied nearly every day.

He finally started to understand the voices of his parents.

He heard his assumed mother say, "Doctor, are you sure he's alright? He has blue eyes just like me and his father, but, his right eye is purple. It truly worries me if he will be okay growing up."

The also assumed, doctor, had a deep voice and stated very clearly, "It's a rare condition but nothing out of the ordinary. There are no guaranteed side effects. There has been a small amount of research done on the discoloration of the eyes. It is still being discussed but-"

His mother cut the doctor off in the slightly hysterical over-protective and worried manner, "Is he going to be alright? Please tell me he is. Please. Please. I cant have-"

The doctor spoke again, this time slightly annoyed, "He'll be fine and grow up normally. There is a potential for him to be born with two magical abilities instead of one. Although, I've never seen a purple colored eye. The only two known eye mutations are green and red. The eye color of green granting more usage skills than usual and red granting a second one. I'm not sure about the purple eye color but if it follows the patterns of the other ones it should be beneficial. You have nothing to worry about"

This time, his presumed father spoke, also in a deep voice fitting for someone of his stature, "Thank you for your time doctor. We sincerely appreciate your help today."

"Your welcome, I will follow up with you on the purple-eyed child in a few weeks." The doctor opened the door to the home, and left.

His father, then asked, "Well, what should we name him?"

The response he got was shocking, "I think the name Asher would suit him well."

"I think that's a wonderful name for a strong boy." as his father squeezed Asher's chubby cheeks.

Ryan, or now Asher, did not appreciate for a single second being treated like a child or having his face squeezed. In fact, he started crying again out of spite.

It was already about 6:00pm and Asher, in his new baby body, got tired extremely fast. His parents put him in a bed, and wished him good night, happy that they gave life to a new child.

-------------------------------------------------

Asher woke up in the middle of the night. Instead of crying, he looked out the window next to his cradle. He noticed a few odd things about this world. First of all, it had two moons. One of them was around twice as large as the smaller one. He saw the vast expanse of hills and trees outside his small home. He noticed a stone pathway that connected his house to a village. He could make out some kind of pole that was glowing light. He didn't notice a flame or lightbulb. Just a small glowing orb. Since it was so far away, he couldn't really notice anything else and sat back in his cradle.

He asked, to whoever was listening, maybe some ethereal entity, his new family, or maybe just himself. "Why me?" He decided to answer that question later. Right now, he had to focus on getting stronger.

Asher remembered that the lady in the in-between had said that there were two systems he could use.

Asher quickly thought about all of the manga, anime, and reincarnation tropes and suddenly had an interesting thought.

"Status"

----------------------------------------

Status Window

Name : Asher

Gender : Male

Age : 0

Race : Human

Status : Commoner

Affinity : Dark, Space, Time

Combat Ability : Null

Overview : A frail-newborn child. What do you expect? It's a baby.

----------------------------------------

Innate Skills

Combat/Passive | Weakling [Common-] - The user is extremely frail and weak. This skill evolves extremely fast. (Proficiency : 0.00%)

Passive | Genius [Master] - Allows the user to learn and grow at an extraordinary fast pace. (Proficiency : 0.00%)

Usage | Appraisal [Common+] - Allows the user to get a basic explanation of anything. (Proficiency : 0.00%)

Usage | Concealment [Master] - Allows the user to be immune to appraisal skills and hide things. (Proficiency : 0.00%)

----------------------------------------

Asher was, needless to say, shocked. He had never seen something like a status window before in real life and had a hard time believing what he was even seeing. It helped knowing that he probably wasn't the only one reincarnated into this world, but of course, that wasn't one-hundred percent either. He stared at his status window for a few minutes trying to grasp exactly what he was seeing.

Aside from being annoyed at the overview, the main thing he was confused about was why he had four skills. He could have swore that the person in the in-between said something about there only being one innate skill per person in this world. He chalked it up to it being because he was a reincarnate.

Asher spent a lot of time looking at the weakling skill. Asher was expecting to be given lots of overpowered skills but instead he got one that debuffed him?

He was extremely annoyed with the skill until he saw two things.

The first one being that the skill evolved much faster. This meant the debuffs would go away quickly.

The second one being, the proficiency went up? He blinked a few times and took another look.

----------------------------------------

Combat/Passive | Weakling [Common-] - The user is extremely frail and weak. This skill evolves extremely fast. (Proficiency : 0.1%)

----------------------------------------

It took Asher a moment until he realized that this passive skill was incredible. He didn't have to do anything and it would evolve on its own? I mean, for now it was still hurting him, but it had only been half a day and it already increased?

Asher then remembered the second system, called the "reincarnation system"

He barely even thought about it and of course, on cue, it appeared. A floating little square of glowing text.

----------------------------------------

Reincarnation System

User : Asher

Divine Blessing : Lord of ##### (Locked)

Tokens : 0

Skill Augmentations : Null

Access Level : 1

----------------------------------------

Asher immediately noticed that this system was much smaller. As he was reading the text on it, he noticed "Access Level : 1". Asher reasoned this was the reason there was so little information on the system. The part that really caught his attention was the fact that his divine blessing was locked.

He wasn't extremely impressed with this system since it had so little information

That was, of course, until he saw what happened next.
