Kim Sohee froze, waiting for an answer, wondering why she had to deliver some papers to Jeong Teho.
- At least because you're sitting next to him in class. And you live the closest to him.
- So, I guess I don't have a choice.
- Exactly. So take these papers and go.
"Well, I suspected we lived close by. After all, we've bumped into each other twice in the same store. That's a hint."
Kim Sohee took the papers and went to Pak Nuri and Ho Su Min, who were waiting for her.
- Listen, there's something.
Kim Sohee said.
- What is it?
Asked Ho Su Min.
- I can't go with you because I have to deliver some papers to Jeong Teho.
- Oh. Well, that's how it will be then.
Pak Nuri said sadly.
"Minus one chance to walk with Ho Su Min."
Kim Sohee thought angrily, though she felt a little sad.
- I'm leaving. See you some other time.
Kim Sohee left and waved goodbye over her shoulder.
Kim Sohee was almost at Jeong Teho's apartment. But all her thoughts, as usual, were occupied by Ho Su Min and what had happened today because of Jeong Teho's absence.
Meanwhile, Pak Nuri and Ho Su Min were still walking home together.
- Ho Su Min, I've been meaning to ask you. What do you think about Kim Sohee?
- Um. What can I think? She's a good friend.
Ho Su Min blushed awkwardly at the question.
- And that's it?
Pak Nuri asked again.
- Why are you asking me?
Pak Nuri was surprised because she didn't expect him to ask that.
- Well, she's my best friend, so I'm curious… what do you think of her?
After her answer, there was an awkward silence. They continued walking without saying another word.
And Kim Sohee had already reached Jeong Teho's apartment.
She knocked on the door, and she could hear him approaching and beginning to open it.
As soon as Jeong Teho opened the door, the first thing Kim Sohee thought was:
"Why does he look like he's about to fall over?"
Jeong Teho was barely standing in front of her, completely red, with messy hair, and in a wrinkled T-shirt.
- Hey. So, teacher Chang asked me to give you these papers.
Kim Sohee said and handed him the papers.
"He can barely stand. Is he sick?"
She thought while looking at Jeong Teho.
Jeong Teho took the papers.
- Ah.
His voice sounded very hoarse and tired.
He continued standing there, as though about to collapse.
- Anything else?
Jeong Teho asked.
- No, nothing. I'll go now.
Jeong Teho nodded and closed the door behind him.
Kim Sohee walked home. On the way, she passed the store where she had bumped into Jeong Teho twice.
Kim Sohee suddenly remembered how he had looked then. So, she went into the store.
Back in his apartment, Jeong Teho placed the papers on the table and lay down on the couch because he didn't have enough strength to walk to his bed.
Just as he was starting to fall asleep, someone knocked on the door again. Jeong Teho got up and opened the door.
He was very surprised when he saw Kim Sohee standing there, panting, leaning against the wall with one hand, and holding a bag in the other.
- Here… for you… take it.
She stretched out her hand with the bag.
Jeong Teho took the bag.
- I forgot to tell you. There's a history test at school next Friday. You need to come.
Kim Sohee stood up straight and waved her hand.
- Well, I'm leaving.
Kim Sohee left, and Jeong Teho closed the door.
He walked further into the apartment and looked inside the bag that Kim Sohee had brought.
"M?! Fever medicine, throat lozenges… and oh! Ramen with cheese?"
- Pha!!
Jeong Teho smiled.
- Seriously… this fool…
He covered his eyes with his right hand and continued to smile brightly.
"I'll have to repay her for this. But why her…?"
