Chapter 1 - welcome to Myrathis High School .....

In A bustling mart. A long-haired, young boy picks up groceries and proceeds to pay at the counter. He collects his bags and steps out onto a noisy, busy street filled with the sounds of honking vehicles and the chatter of passersby. Walking with his head slightly bowed, he is lost in thought. His expression hints at weariness, as though carrying a heavier burden than the groceries in his hands.

As he walks, his attention is caught by a large digital advertising board glowing brightly among the sea of noise. The board announces the grand opening of a new mart, much closer to his neighbourhood. His lips twitch into the faintest smile. Finally, he thinks. No more long, tedious grocery errands for Mom.

With this small comfort, he continues walking, his mind still wandering. But his wandering is abruptly interrupted as his foot catches on a loose stone. Stumbling forward, he barely catches himself and looks up to realize he is now standing in front of an old, decrepit house. The house is ominously positioned near the edge of the jungle and a cemetery. Its broken windows and peeling paint give it a tragic, haunted look. A chill runs down his spine, and he quickly picks up his pace, leaving the eerie sight behind.

He soon reaches his home—a large, gothic-style house that has stood through generations of his family. The building, though slightly worn, holds an air of history and tradition. Entering, he calls out, "I'm back!" and places the grocery bags on the dining table. Amongst a pile of flyers and advertisements, his eyes land on one detailing the new mart's upcoming book and game stores. Intrigued, he picks it up, thinking briefly of how exciting this could be.

In the corner of his eye, something catches his attention—a strange-looking board game sitting on the table. The game, eerily resembling The Game of Life, has an unsettling, almost alive quality to it. His curiosity gets the better of him, and he grabs the game before hurrying up to his room on the first floor.

[ Inside the room, dim lighting and minimal décor reflect the personality of the protagonist. The boy places the game on his desk and looks into the camera, breaking the fourth wall.]

[Scene: Jeremy's Room, Morning] Jeremy is sitting at his desk, staring at the strange board game he found yesterday. Its mysterious aura seems to beckon him, almost like it's alive. He hesitates, his fingers grazing the edge of the game, before shaking his head and muttering to himself.

Jeremy (thinking):This is ridiculous. It's just a game… nothing special.

But deep down, he can't shake the unsettling feeling it gives him. Before he can dwell on it any further, the sound of his mother calling from downstairs breaks his thoughts.

Mom (off-screen): "Jeremy! You'll be late for school!"

Jeremy: "Coming!"

He grabs his school bag, glances one last time at the game, and reluctantly heads out.

Jeremy (narrating): "Hi, I'm Jeremy. I'm 15 years old. A lonely, depressed kid who doesn't really talk to people. I've never had friends and was always bullied at my previous school. I used to attend an all-boys boarding school in Valkora, but now I've moved here, to Myrathis. Today is my first day at my new school…"

[Scene: On the Way to School] The morning is brisk, and Jeremy walks with his head lowered, his thoughts racing His head hangs low, his hands gripping the straps of his bag tightly. His face carries a mix of dread and hope. Lost in though. His nerves about his first day of school bubble to the surface. Around him, the streets of Myrathis are alive with energy—cars honk, shopkeepers shout to advertise their wares, and groups of students laugh and chatter as they pass him by.Jeremy feels out of place, like a shadow among the vibrant life of the city. As he turns a corner, he bumps into someone unexpectedly.]

Jace:[grinning] Whoa, watch it, man! Oh, wait—Jeremy, right? Uncle Allen's son?

Jeremy:[looking up, startled] Oh… yeah. Jace, right? Sorry, I wasn't paying attention.

Jace:  [laughs lightly] No worries! You're pretty good at this whole "introvert ninja" thing. I didn't even see you coming. [pauses, noticing Jeremy's uneasy expression] Hey, you heading to school?

Jeremy:[nodding hesitantly] Yeah… first day. Not really sure what to expect.

Jace:[excitedly] Dude, you're gonna love it! It's way better than those boring old boarding schools. Trust me. [playfully nudges Jeremy] Besides, you've got me to show you around. Pretty lucky, huh?

Jeremy:[manages a small smile] Yeah… thanks. I guess it's nice to know someone.

Jace:[grinning widely] That's the spirit! You'll fit in before you know it. And if anyone gives you a hard time, they'll have to deal with me. [winks]

Jeremy:[softly] Thanks. I… I hope things will be different here.

Jace:[with confidence] They will be. Just stick with me, and I'll introduce you to everyone. Oh, and wait till you see the cafeteria—it's legendary.

Jeremy:[a hint of curiosity in his voice] Legendary?

Jace:[laughing] You'll see. Come on, let's get there before the first bell. Who knows? This could be the start of something awesome.

[Jeremy follows Jace, his nervousness starting to fade just a little as he walks beside the upbeat and confident boy.]

[Scene: Myrathis High School] The school building looms ahead—modern and sprawling, with groups of students milling about the entrance. Jeremy hesitates at the gate, but Jace claps a hand on his shoulder.

Jace: "Come on, man. Let's make some memories. First stop, homeroom!"

Jeremy sighs but follows Jace into the building. The noise and chaos of the bustling hallways hit him like a wave. Students rush to their lockers, greet each other enthusiastically, and some glance curiously at Jeremy—the new face. As they reach their classroom, Jeremy feels a pang of anxiety. But Jace, ever the optimist, gives him an encouraging nudge.

Jace: "You've got this. Just stick with me."

[Scene: Myrathis High School - Entrance Hallway] The interior of Myrathis High is a fascinating juxtaposition of old and new. Towering gothic-style archways loom overhead, their intricate carvings blending seamlessly with sleek, modern glass panels. Chandeliers with LED lights hang from ornate ceilings, casting a warm glow over the polished marble floors. The school feels like a bridge between centuries, with its fusion of historical grandeur and cutting-edge design.

As Jeremy steps through the entrance, his eyes dart around, taking in the unusual mix of aesthetics. The grand staircase in the central hall, with its wrought-iron railing and rich wooden steps, contrasts sharply with the futuristic touchscreens mounted on the walls, where students scan schedules and announcements.

Jeremy (thinking):This place is... different.

But the awe quickly fades as the bustling energy of the school envelops him, amplifying his nerves. Students dash around, some chatting in groups, others adjusting their lockers. The noise is overwhelming.

Jace:[grinning, noticing Jeremy's hesitation] "Cool, huh? Myrathis High is like an art exhibit and a tech lab had a kid. Wait till you see the library—total Hogwarts vibes, but with holographic displays."

Jeremy nods absently, his mind still processing the scale of the building.

[Scene: Classroom] The classroom reflects the school's theme—large stained-glass windows let in beams of colorful light, while every desk is equipped with a sleek digital tablet. The walls are lined with a mix of traditional chalkboards and smart screens displaying animated lessons.

Jeremy steps inside cautiously, feeling the weight of countless curious stares from his new classmates. He sinks into an empty seat near the back, hoping to blend into the background. Jace plops down beside him, completely at ease.

Jace (whispering): "So, what do you think so far? Coolest school ever, right?"

Jeremy (quietly): "It's… big."

Jace:[laughing softly] "Don't worry, you'll get used to it. Everyone's pretty chill once you get to know them."

Jeremy offers a faint smile, unsure if Jace's confidence is contagious or just intimidating.

[Scene: Lunch Break - School Courtyard] The courtyard is an open space that merges gothic statues with modern water features. A stone fountain, adorned with gargoyles, sits at the center, surrounded by sleek steel benches and digital notice boards displaying club activities.

Jace leads Jeremy to a bench, where a group of students is laughing and eating. The atmosphere feels light, but Jeremy's nerves still weigh heavy.

Jace:[grinning and gesturing to the group] "Hey, guys! This is Jeremy. New kid. Be nice."

The group greets him with polite curiosity, but Jeremy barely manages a mumbled response. He keeps his focus on his lunch, tuning out the chatter around him. Despite Jace's attempts to include him, Jeremy struggles to push past his introverted instincts.

As the bell rings, signaling the end of lunch, Jeremy feels a mix of relief and exhaustion.

[Scene: Afternoon Classes – Myrathis High School] The classroom grows quieter as the teacher, a tall woman with piercing eyes, writes on the smartboard. The gothic-style windows cast colorful shadows on the walls, creating an almost dreamlike atmosphere. Jeremy is half-listening, his thoughts drifting to the eerie board game sitting on his desk at home.

Jeremy (thinking):Why did it feel so... alive? I should've just thrown it out.

His wandering thoughts are interrupted when the teacher calls on him.

Teacher: "Jeremy, could you read the next passage?"

Jeremy freezes, feeling the eyes of every student in the room turn toward him. His hands grip the edges of his desk as he nods and begins reading softly, his voice trembling. The words barely make it past his lips.

After class, Jace catches up to him in the hallway.

Jace: "Hey, you did fine back there. Don't sweat it. Some of these kids are still figuring out how to pronounce half the stuff we read." [grins]

Jeremy offers a faint smile, appreciating the reassurance but still feeling the weight of his social anxiety.
