Chapter 30 - Whisperee Wings and Demon Things

Haruna walked through the marble halls of Heaven like she owned the place—which she didn't, not even close—but today, she had that look in her eyes that said *don't test me.*

And behind her, sauntering in with the exact opposite energy, was Kikidori Morningstar.

Boots loud on the gleaming floors, smirk painted on his face like sin itself had a sense of humor, and his dark cloak trailing just inches away from scalding the divine cloudstone tiles. His eyes scanned every pillar, every floating choir orb, every soft-winged, wide-eyed, halo-polishing angel who stared like a fucking deer in holy headlights.

The whispers began almost instantly.

"Is that a demon?"

"Wait, isn't that—"

"No no no no no, that's him. That's the Morningstar's kid."

"THE FUCKING FUCK IS SHE DOING?"

"Why the fuck is a demon in Heaven?"

"Are we just letting *that* in now?"

Kikidori snorted. "Well damn, this place has all the hospitality of a back alley exorcism."

"Shut up," Haruna hissed under her breath.

"Oh, don't mind me," he said loud enough for everyone to hear. "Just here for a fucking tour. Maybe pick up a souvenir or two. Y'all sell those 'I heart God' shirts in my size?"

An angel dropped her harp.

Another one literally fainted. Wings up and everything.

Haruna sighed and turned around to face the growing crowd. Their golden armor clinked as they gathered, murmuring, staring, sharpening their divine judgments.

"Alright, shut up!" she snapped.

Silence fell like a divine hammer.

Haruna straightened. "Yes, he's a demon. Yes, I brought him here. Yes, I'm fully aware of how completely and utterly insane this looks."

"IT LOOKS MORE THAN INSANE!" a choir seraph in the back shouted. "IT LOOKS LIKE YOU FUCKED UP!"

"Well guess what," Haruna said, voice sharp as a blade made of grace. "I don't care what it looks like."

Gasps rippled through the crowd.

"I brought him here because he needs to see what he's up against," she continued. "He thinks Earth is broken, Hell is home, and Heaven is just some uptight golden gated community where everyone sings kumbaya and jerks off their morals all day."

Kikidori gave a small laugh. "I mean, where's the lie?"

"*SHUT UP!*" Haruna snapped at him, then turned back to the crowd. "I don't expect you all to understand. I don't even expect you to trust me. But I believe he deserves to see the other side. And maybe, just *maybe,* if we don't treat him like a fucking plague rat, he might learn something."

One of the seraphim pointed a flaming sword at Kikidori. "He's a danger."

"No shit," Haruna said. "But so is judgment without understanding."

Kikidori yawned. "Can we speed this up? I've got at least five human cults to traumatize tonight."

Someone threw a halo at him. It bounced off his head like a frisbee.

Haruna groaned and pulled him by the sleeve. "Come on. We're going to see someone who actually listens."

Kikidori grinned as he followed. "Damn, all this attention? I feel like a pop star. Should I sign autographs? Any virgins need saving?"

A spear of light zipped past his head. He ducked lazily.

"You're going to get smote," Haruna muttered.

"Wouldn't be the first time."

And just like that, the demon and the angel disappeared into Heaven's inner halls, leaving behind a trail of confusion, frustration, and divine indignation.

The whispers didn't stop.

They got louder.

And somewhere—far, far above—someone was definitely watching.
