Tali gave Marcilene a dress that was beautiful, she gave her a white dress that had a skirt that stopped around her knees, covering up more than half of her legs.
Marcilene also worn another piece of clothing to cover up her face, it was white and made sure that her ears weren't visible while at the same time giving her full range to see, with only a few tuffs of hair peeking through.
'Reminds me of a hajib…'
I raise my eyebrows in surprise of what it reminded me of.
The clothes I wear are old clothes that Steel has, he's never brought me too far from the house, the furthest I've went was to go get a recheck of my eye from Vic.
Everytime he removed the cloth that covered my eye it was so bright on the other side, maybe because of the fact that I had it on so it became accustomed to darkness and bright light had to be slowly recalibrated before going out into the sun.
"You're going out wearing that?"
Tali asked as I stood in the living room looking at Marcilene admire both her new dress and her hajib. Steel there with her listening to her rant.
I turn around and look at her, tilting my head up.
"I don't have any other clothes, I just wear Steel's old clothes, he's never took me outside to far from the small village we are in."
As I say that I look down to my clothes, the shirt's still slightly too much for me, I tucked it into my pants, with the pants being to large I rolled it up and to stop at my ankles.
These are the first clothes that I've wore besides my garments.
Tali shakes her head softly.
"Not even to the main square… bad dad."
She says that as a joke for me to laugh, in return I give her a slight anxious chuckle.
She says as Steel is across the room with Marcilene, laughing and complimenting her.
She grabs my hand, after looking at Steel and Marcilene.
"Dad, I'm going to give him some clothes to wear."
Steel looks up at Tali and nodded his head:
"Sure, but how come you don't ever give me some clothes to wear..?"
She smiles, with a malicious expression.
"Are you going to pay for it?"
It scared even me with the way she smiled, I almost thought that she was a demon.
Steel looks down.
"Nevermind…"
Tali slowly guides me toward the door, and she has a suit case that she left outside not wanting to bring it in or something, not really sure why she left it outside.
"Why'd you leave it outside?"
My voice was timid, slightly afraid to speak to her, again she's new to me, I'm still slightly flustered by her just holding my hand.
"Dunno, just didn't wanna bring it in."
She shrugged her shoulders after saying that.
She then grabs the suit case, guiding me through the house toward the other side of the house, up the stairs into the room that I'm familiar with, Steel's room.
She lets go of my hand and looked me up and down, before slapping the suitcase on the bed.
"Okay, strip to your underwear."
She said it as if it's a regular thing.
"What?"
I ask her with my face cringing in curiosity.
"How else are you going to try on the new clothes?"
I give her a small nod and nervously I take off my clothes, til I'm stripped to my underwear.
'Why am I embarrassed I'm like four?'
After thinking that I slowly got less and less nervous, but it didn't fully fade.
She opens the suit case.
"Okay, so you probably won't like the super fancy clothes that Flock makes for the big boys…"
She pulls out a suit that is to fancy.
A brown colored suit, with a checkered design as it has an insignia, near the pocket on its check place are, its small and doesn't scream notice me, but it's still adds to its fashionable design.
"Flock…?"
After asking that she turn and smiles at me, like she just got butterflies in her stomach just hearing the name.
"He's just the sweetest man that ever existed, and best of all he's my boyfriend."
She smiles at me before turning back and looking back at the clothes.
"Not only that, he knows how to make a good shirt, or a nice dress. People call him the Fashion Designer… isn't it cool?"
She says with so much passion for her boyfriend it's nice to see that she admires him.
'Would I have been happier if I had someone like her in my other life?'
My mind wanders to my other life.
But I take a mental hand and wave the thought away before I end up feeling sad again.
After what feels like forever of me staring at her back in my undies she turns to me holding up a gray vest, along with a long sleeved shirt that's inside of it while she also holds up a brown pair of pants.
They all seem to be in a match for me as well. Length and width.
"This is perfect!"
She almost squeals with excitement.
I grab the clothes and she pulls out other clothes. Setting them on the bed.
"These are for you, some thing to wear on your regular day to day, instead of only garments."
I look at them, and they all look nice, but don't have the same flare to it as the one I'm currently holding.
"Okay, so when your done just come downstairs."
She smiles and closes the suit case before going around me and out the door.
I hear her footsteps descending down the stairs and her voice speaking up downstairs.
'I've never had anyone get me anything in what felt like forever.'
I hold the clothes in a tight grip and smile, happy at the things that are right in front of me.
'Is this the way family is supposed to treat each other, buying regular everyday things without the want for anything in return..?'
My brain wonders around those thoughts as I undo the vest on the ling sleeve, putting that one on first and then the vest right over it, it feels perfect around my chest, I turn side to side, and the clothes feel breathable.
'I'm thankful that Gos brought me to a family like Steel's. He's shown me, to have concern for family.'
I slide one foot through a pants hole, stopping at my thigh before I put the other foot in and pull it all the way to the top of my waist, over the long sleeve, and then pulling the vest over it.
"I'll grow to love this small life I have."
The words that were meant to be said in my head, fell through my throat out loud.
It was small but it held me in understanding.
"Are you done, Lazi?!"
Marcilene said from downstairs, she was pretty loud from down there and I opened the door, to yell back down to her.
"Yeah… just give me a second."
I wipe my eye, after feeling the warmth of a tear, not of sadness, but of happiness, hope, good feelings. Just overwhelming my heart.
I walk through the hallway, passing many rooms that I've been in many times already, smiling at the world that I've been gifted into.
With each step going down my heart beats with happiness.
I go around the corner and stand at the entrance of the living room, every staring at me.
"Does it look nice?"
I say with a smile, that's wavering in and out, waiting for their response.
"It looks… perfect."
Tali says as she smiles at me.
"Couldn't agree any more."
Steel says with a grin.
And Marcilene like a fast dog, wraps her arms around me, her hair would have been all in my face, but the hajib keeps her hair, slightly, tucked.
"It's great Lazi!"
Steel looks out the window to something or someone that I can't see out there.
"Okay, I gotta go now, I have to guard the surroundings of the village. Make sure that nothing happens to enter during every one is going to the festival."
Marcilene lets go of me and turn toward Steel.
"Is that why you can't follow?"
Steel nods his head.
"Atleast your sister is here to watch you for today."
He says ruffling Tali's hair.
"Hey, this takes a while to get back into shape, I have a lot of hair."
She swipes his hand away before he laughs, walks past both Marci and I ruffles both our head, Steel carful not to mess with the hajib on her head, before he goes out the front door.
"Listen to Tali."
He says with a smile and disappears out the door.
Tali straightens herself out and puts the suit case beside the couch before she gets up and walks over to us, Marcilene lets go of me and runs over to Tali.
"Okay, let's go to the festival."
We go out through the front door, closing it tightly behind us, the sun slowly descending down the sky as the festival lights grow brighter out into the right side of my vision.
Talk and Marcilene wave off the someone in the distance toward the left, I turn my head that way and see their waving toward Steel, I wave to him as well.
We go out through the gate and walk towards the lights.
Many people are also coming out of their houses most likely to go toward the festival and enjoy themselves for the night, I follow beside Tali while Marcilene holds her hand and follows beside her on the other side.
"We're going to have so much fun!"
Marcilene, sounds so happy, different from when she didn't have the hajib, or Tali here.
'She must be happy to see her.'
While following her, I remember that she said that the other kid that she met, she thought was nice.
"Marcilene, is Tali the girl, that you said was the nice girl that you met out of all Steel's kids?"
Marcilene smiles at me and without hesitation:
"Yeah, she's super nice, that's why I love her, just like a little sister should love an older sister."
Tali smiles down at Marcilene and gives out a small little laugh.
"I'm so thankful you love me, Marci. I'm thankful dad decided to raise you, your so pretty and cute and nice, it's a good thing he's raising you to be nice."
She said the compliments like she could just decide on one.
As we get closer and closer towards the lights we see many people crowding near the entrance to the square and music, loud festive music. Along with the smell of so many different foods, while many other people crowd stalls that have cool little toys, many different types of books as well.
"Come buy a baby dragon."
A guy says, very likely lying as the lizard he has, is just a bearded dragon.
'Well maybe he's not lying all the way.'
Marcilene and Tali have took a few steps without me as I take in my surroundings, loving every second of being here, surrounded by strangers that also want one thing to enjoy themselves.
Marcilene grabs my hand, with Tali in tow.
"Come one Lazi, let's go have fun."
She drags me with force as I smile and follow along with her.
"Yeah… let's go!"
We both yell over the sounds that are all around us.
