Chapter 8 - An Unexpected Gift-2.

"The first thing that I want from my inventory is the Mystic Glasses," Raymond spoke to the system window.

[Artifact Confirmed.]

The blank panel instantly burst into bright light, forcing Raymond to squint slightly as the dazzling glow filled the room.

"How flashy." He said, raising his hand to shield his eyes from the blinding light. After a few moments, the radiance slowly dulled before it faded away completely.

In front of him hovered a pair of seemingly ordinary glasses. Yet Raymond knew they were anything but ordinary.

He raised his hand and grabbed them carefully. The frame was smooth to touch and black-rimmed, surrounding perfectly round lenses that reflected a faint mysterious sheen under the sunlight.

Strange runic patterns could barely be seen etched along the edges, appearing and disappearing like phantomic illusions.

The moment his fingers wrapped around the glass, the system panel flickered to life before his eyes.

"Heh, there we go." Raymond smiled as he put on the glasses after seeing its effects without a doubt these glasses were top notch for him.

"Oh, nice…it still contains all the information and data from the previous gameplays." He spoke excitedly, not expecting the glasses to have the information from his previous gameplays stored.

"Well, with this many things would be a bit easier…and I won't have to worry about illusions." He said thinking about the future moments.

"Now then, the second item that I want is the Shapeshifter." He said, as the system window exploded into bright light again.

After some moments, the light vanished and in front of Raymond hovered a white cube.

It was the size of an adult's palm, with multiple slanted lines etched on the edges of each face while hexagonal patterns filled each side of the cube.

Raymond raised his hand. The cube dropped from the air, as it fell into his hand.

Wobble

As soon as the cube fell on his hand, the cube, similar to a jelly, wobbled. Its whole body rippled like a leaf dropped on a still water surface. It was cool to touch like a metal.

The system window flared up again.

[Shapeshifter- Rank- None.

Effects-

1) Can alter its shape, structure into a weapon or any similar thing according to the host's imagination.

2) Unbreakable.]

"Uh-uhm, similar to what I had read previously. This thing may not be of much use when I was playing the game, however this artifact here combined with my weapon insight talent…it's gonna be perfect." Raymond said, feeling the cool touch of metal beneath his fingers.

Calmly, he willed the cube to change into a sword.

The metallic cube trembled lightly in his palm before its surface began to shift and flow like liquid steel, as mana began to surge in it.

Its edges stretched outward blinking up with an azure glow, the compact form unfolding smoothly as the metal reshaped itself piece by piece.

Within seconds, the once simple cube had transformed completely into a sleek white and blue sword, its sharp edge gleaming faintly under the light.

Then, with another thought, the sword shifted once more.

The blade softened like flowing metal before lengthening rapidly. A long shaft formed beneath it, the weapon reshaping itself into an azure spear with a razor-sharp tip that glimmered coldly.

Raymond spun it lightly before willing another change.

The spear folded inward as the shaft thickened, the tip widening into a heavy crescent edge.

In mere moments, the weapon transformed again…this time into a massive white axe that radiated a heavy presence.

He continued with his experiments for a while then finally getting a feel for it he stopped, after all he still had a last thing to get.

"System, the last thing I want is my original space storage ring." He said.

The same scene repeated again and soon enough, a silver ring with shimmering veins like liquid moonlight flowing into them appeared.

Grabbing the ring he instantly downed it barely able to contain his excitement. With a thought, he passed a pulse of his mana into the ring checking the things inside.

Immediately, a wide smile curved on his lips as laughed. He was ecstatic.

Inside the ring, there were mountains…yes, literal mountains of gold and treasures piled endlessly within the vast space.

Gold coins shimmered like flowing rivers beneath the light, while jewels of countless colors glittered brilliantly among the heaps.

It was as if the wealth of countless kingdoms had all been gathered into this one place.

Among the treasures were also enormous piles of various rare ores and metals.

Crimson crystals pulsing faintly with heat, silver ores gleaming with a cold sheen, while strange black metals absorbed the surrounding light itself.

Some radiated dense mana, others carried ancient and dangerous auras, making the entire storage space feel less like a treasury and more like a forgotten vault of legends.

While scattered throughout the treasury there were also monster cores of all kinds and sizes.

Some glowed with blazing fire, some crackled with lightning, while others pulsed with eerie darkness or chilling frost.

The stronger cores emitted overwhelming mana pressure, making the air itself feel heavy around them, as though fragments of the monsters they once belonged to were still alive within.

This was Raymond's original inventory, the one that combined all the wealth he had earned throughout the countless hours of gameplay since the very beginning.

Every treasure here was something he had once fought for, grinded for, discovered, stolen from hidden dungeons, or obtained after defeating impossible bosses.

Looking at the endless mountains of riches, Raymond suddenly felt an odd sense of nostalgia wash over him.

"Damn…" he muttered softly.

The smile stretched even wide across his face as he looked around the enormous treasury. For the first time since arriving in this world, genuine excitement appeared in his eyes.

He was rich. Ridiculously fucking rich.

The amount of wealth inside this ring alone could probably bankrupt kingdoms if revealed to the world. Rare ores, monster cores and unbound wealth. These things that people would kill entire bloodlines for were casually piled here like junk.

Raymond took a long breath before slowly calming himself down.

The excitement was understandable.

Anyone in his place would probably lose over their mind after seeing enough wealth to buy entire nations several times over.

Still, getting too excited was pointless.

Treasures only had value if they could actually be used. Right now, his priority wasn't admiring gold mountains like a lethargic dragon.

No…

He needed things that could help him survive and grow stronger quickly. Thus, closing the inventory ring, Raymond stretched his shoulders lightly before glancing around the small shabby room he was staying in.

On a closer look, the place looked terrible.

Cracked walls, while dust gathered in corners. Whereas, a faint rotten metallic smell lingering in the air.

And then his eyes landed on the bed.

The thin mattress was stained with dark smelly blood from his earlier injuries, making the already miserable room look even worse.

Raymond stared at it for a moment. Then casually raised his hand. The entire bed disappeared instantly into his secondary space ring.

"…Who cares," he muttered lazily. "I can just buy another."

Honestly, keeping that disgusting thing around would only ruin his mood further.

After solving the very important "blood-stained bed problem," Raymond dusted off his clothes lightly and moved toward the door.

His next destination was simple.

The guild district.

A place where adventurers, mercenaries, hunters, and all kinds of shady individuals gathered. More importantly, it was also the best place to purchase supplies quickly.

Potions.

Basic equipment.

Maps.

Information.

Monster materials.

Everything could be found there if one had enough money. Of course, the guild also needs to have certain levels for it.

And Raymond currently had more money than he knew what to do with. A faint grin appeared on his face as he stepped outside the room.

*****

Raymond walked through the streets calmly, his hands tucked inside the pockets of his coat as his gaze wandered across the surroundings.

The city was far more alive than he expected.

Small merchants loudly advertised their products from the roadside stalls, the adventurers in armor moved through the streets carrying weapons stained with monster blood, while carriages rolled across the stone roads with steady noise.

The smell of grilled meat, alcohol, smoke, and metal mixed strangely together in the air.

Above all of it, abundant mana lingered faintly everywhere. It flowed through the city like an invisible current. Weak in some places, a bit dense in others.

Raymond adjusted his Mystic Glasses slightly as he observed the surroundings through the lenses. Instantly, the world changed.

Thin streams of magic became visible around people and objects. Artifacts glowed faintly, some brighter than others, while even ordinary individuals radiated different levels of magical energy.

"...Very useful." he muttered again.

The glasses were honestly absurd.

As he continued walking, the buildings gradually changed. The cleaner merchant district slowly gave way to rougher streets filled with adventurers and mercenaries.

Weapons hung outside shops.

Monster heads were mounted as trophies above tavern entrances.

Laughter, shouting, and occasional arguments echoed around every corner.

Eventually…Raymond stopped.

Before him stood a two story building made from dark stone and reinforced wood. A large iron emblem hung above the entrance.

Without hesitating, he pushed open the door and entered the shop. The smell of medicinal herbs and old wood instantly hit his nose.

It wasn't unpleasant, rather it was oddly calming. Gazing around, he found rows of glass bottles filled with different coloured liquid kept neatly in the wooden racks.

There were also shelves packed with herbs, monster materials, and various alchemical equipment lined the walls behind him, giving the small shop a cluttered yet professional atmosphere.

Moving in, he stopped before the shop

owner, who sat lazily behind a long wooden counter.

The middle-aged man leaned back in his chair while casually flipping through a worn ledger, his reading glasses resting low on the bridge of his nose.
