Chapter 20 - Chapter 20: 2 Year Time Skip

*2 Years Later*

It has been 2 years since the release of Elaine's vaccines. Her medications have cured malaria, cancer, and even HIV/Aids. Its potential was limitless. The world was slowly being transformed into a disease-free generation. A new era was beginning; an era where diseases were a thing of the past.

Elaine's products quickly adopted the name 'Miracle Drugs' and have been distributed all around the world in the past two years. The drugs weren't just for the privileged or wealthy, any individual could afford them as they were cheaper than even ibuprofen.

All credit had gone to Elaine, but being the person that she was, she had refused to take any of the profit from the sales and had been giving it all to different charities around the world.

"Elaine, are you ready?" I asked the woman putting on her heels.

She wore a tight black dress that revealed a curvaceous body underneath, which left little to the imagination. Her neck was decorated with a beautiful, golden necklace that glimmered in the light. It complemented her white, golden earrings. Her gold colored heels added 2 inches to her height, yet I could still see the top of her head as she stood up. I found this amusing.

Her dress was ravishing, her jewelry was stunning, and the way she carried herself gave her an aura of elegance, as though she was raised by royalty. Despite looking like royalty, the humility in her eyes never diminished.

She was the type of woman who could make a whole room full of people come to a pause and admire in awe. She was simply beautiful.

"Thank you for waiting, Grayson. Lilith kept nagging me to try on different dresses, but I decided to go with my first option," she said with a smile that could calm a storm.

"Haha, that tailed Lilith is a bit extra," I said, smiling back at her.

"I can never understand why you call her 'tailed Lilith,'" she asked, puzzled.

"Don't worry about it, it's a family thing…shall we get going?" I said to her, then opened the door, signaling her to walk through.

As soon as she walked past me, I slapped her round, plumpy ass as a smirk formed on my face.

"Grayson…!" she said, shocked, but still kept her smile. I had gotten quite close with Elaine these past two years…intimately close.

Elaine was as pure as they came. She had refused to form any romantic relationships with anyone until she was sure she was going to get married to the said person. I made sure to give her clarity with the decision about a year ago, when I asked for her hand in marriage.

We then both walked out of the hotel room. She was still in the same hotel that the tailed Lilith had originally brought her to. We took the elevator to the ground floor and met up with Moonlight, who was sitting in the lobby waiting for us.

"Hello Ace, sorry to make you wait here for so long…and for having you drive us tonight," Elaine was quick to apologize.

"You should be, I never signed up to be anyone's driver," Moonlight, whose real name was Ace, replied to Elaine. Although he stared at me when he said this.

"It's only for one night, my friend," I said to him, then patted him on the shoulder hoping to comfort him. A lot has happened between Ace and I in these past years....

"It's been a month since my meeting with Moonlight…he is finally making a move," I said to myself, hovering above a cornfield. "And here I was, worried I may have scared him off," I said, feeling relieved.

I then teleported back to my hotel room, which was right next to Elaine's, and put on a black long-sleeved shirt and a pair of jeans. I then wore my sneakers and sat on the bed, waiting. "Tailed Lilith," I said out loud. The tailed Lilith then almost immediately appeared before me.

"You…called?" The tailed Lilith said in between heavy breaths, looking rather annoyed. She was completely naked, and her body was drenched in sweat. "Moonlight will be knocking on Elaine's door soon, direct him towards my room when he does," I told her.

"I was in the middle of something, you know," she said, annoyed. "I know exactly what you were in the middle of. Finish up quickly before he gets here," I said, rolling my eyes.

Half an hour later, Moonlight was knocking on Elaine's door. The tailed Lilith then opened the door, half naked, then led Moonlight to my room. Moonlight was taken by surprise when he saw this, but maintained his usual calm personality. After a short wait on my end, they finally walked through my door.

"Thank you, tailed Lilith, you can go now," I said to her.

"I wasn't planning on staying," she said beneath her breath as she shut the door behind her.

"Have a seat," I said to Moonlight as I signaled towards a chair in front of me.

"You'll have to get used to seeing her like that now that you'll be working for me," I said to him as I let him take a seat.

"I never said I'll work for you," he quickly rebutted.

"Why else would you be here?" I asked him.

"Opposing you would be dangerous, but…. The Boss is also very dangerous, so either way, my life is at risk," he said, feeling defeated.

"Yet, you came to me. You could have returned to New Orleans and reported to your boss, but you came here. I think we both know you have already made your decision," I said, getting up and walking towards the door.

"Where are you going?" he asked me.

"New Orleans, we are going to kill your boss," I said to him nonchalantly.

"What!" he shouted with obvious surprise, then ran after me.

"You can't just kill The Boss...!" He nagged, turning me by the shoulder.

"I don't want any competition with your loyalty. So, choose, would you rather deal with her or me?" I said to him, immediately turning around and continuing walking. "You came with the 12, right? Bring them along," I added.

Teleporting there would have been quicker, but I had yet to test if a human could survive going through the dark cloud's gate. Thus, we went to New Orleans by plane. It was a short flight. Upon arriving in New Orleans, we went straight to The Fool's Gang's hideout.

"So, what is your plan here?" Moonlight asked.

"For starters, I will not be killing anyone. The 12 haven't done anything to prove their worth or loyalty. I think this is a great opportunity for them to show me their skills. They will annihilate everyone on the first 11 floors. Moonlight, you will take care of The Boss on the 12th floor," I said to them.

"So, he's just going to be out here doing nothing? We are the ones…," one of the 12 tried to speak up before being cut off by Moonlight.

"Shut up! Do you want to die?" Moonlight interrupted, throwing a deathly stare at him.

"What's your name?" I asked the man who spoke up.

"Archer," he replied with his chest held up high.

"Well, Archer, if you're going to work under me, I want to see firsthand what you all can do, not just your skills, but the extent of your loyalty as well. Will you be able to kill those you once called comrades?

You all used to work under the Fool's Gang banner. Today, I want you all to burn it down to the ground; leave no ties! So, you just go in there and enjoy some target practice. I'll make it easy for you guys," I said to him with a smile.

"I don't take orders from you!" he exclaimed.

"Do as he says!" Moonlight snorted.

"He's a fisty one," I said with a smile, as I walked ahead.

I stretched out my hand and released pressure on the 12-story building before us. Through the dark cloud, I could now easily direct certain effects of the death aura onto specific objects or areas.

 "Go," I said to them.

They suddenly disappeared from where they stood. They all charged at the building. All, except a particularly proud-looking woman with a greatsword on her back. Her long black hair fiercely blew in the wind, making her look wild. I didn't pay her any mind, however. I simply observed the situation with the others.

The rest of the 12 swiftly approached the building and found the guards up front, standing in a daze. One of the 12 quickly finished them off by slitting their throats.

"Sorry, Reggy," she said before moving forward.

They then walked into the building, unopposed. Inside, they found everyone was also in a daze. Each one of them was affected by the death aura.

'So this is what he meant by, "make it easy?"' Archer thought to himself.

"Let's make this quick. Don't want to keep the boss waiting," Moonlight said, interrupting their stupor. "Right!" The 12 said in unison, unsure if Moonlight meant his old boss that he is now supposed to kill or me, the random author.

Moonlight then suddenly disappeared, leaving the 12 with their thoughts. He quickly dashed to the 12th floor. The 12 then began their one-sided massacre. It took only a matter of minutes to completely wipe out the first 11 floors.

***Meanwhile***

"Moonlight, what is the meaning of this?" The Boss shouted with a voice filled with rage.

"Someone more powerful came along," Moonlight said as he slowly let a dagger slip out of his sleeves.

"Cut the crap! I raised you like my own son you piece of shit. So you better give me something better than 'someone more powerful came along'," she retorted.

"His strong, it s-it's not human it...! It's not something we can fight!" Moonlight said as his hands trembled for a brief moment, remembering his first meeting with me. Seeing that, 'The Boss' calmed down.

"That bad, Hugh?" The Boss spoke.

"It has the power to change the world, and I don't even mean for the better. I don't know if this will all work out, but what I do know is that it's best to join it rather than stand against it. Admittedly, I am somewhat anxious to see it all unfold," Moonlight replied.

"I see. I raised you to be better than me. Although this isn't how I imagined it, I knew this would happen sooner or later. Still, that doesn't mean I'll make it easy for you!" she said, then 7 armed men walked out of the shadows behind her.

She suddenly pulled out a shotgun from beneath the table before her. Bullets came flying towards Moonlight as she pulled the trigger. Moonlight swiftly dodged or deflected the bullets with his knife as he slowly approached the 7 armed men.

Moonlight was all over the room, trying to approach the armed men. It's not that he was faster than the bullets, but he could accurately predict the trajectory before they even fired. Moonlight had an incredibly in-depth perception of his surroundings. He observed the direction of the gun, the eyes of the shooters, the twitch in their arms, the finger on the trigger, the type of gun being used, and even the personality of the person shooting.

Moonlight operated in a state far beyond human capabilities. All of these things were taken into account as he moved through the swarm of bullets. He moved towards the 7 armed men unlike a normal human being. As he approached, he sustained numerous injuries, but none beyond his expectations. A few seconds later, he had slit the throat of one of the 7.

The body quickly dropped as the man was delivered an instant death. Like a chain effect, the remaining 6 bodies dropped one after another. Moonlight disarmed and silenced each of the remaining 6 one at a time, moving past them like a slithery serpent, until…

"Always watch your back!" The Boss said as she appeared behind Moonlight with a shotgun pointed at him.

Moonlight held the last armed man by the neck and slowly let go. His body was now drenched in blood. It was difficult to tell how much of it was his own.

As blood dripped from his chin, his brain went on overdrive thinking of a way to counter.

'Mossberg 590A1! I'm too close. Even if I dodge, she's far enough to fire a follow-up shot. Mossberg 590A1; Buckshot; Widespread; High-rate; killer eyes. She's going to kill me!' Moonlight's brain raced with thoughts in a panic.

Before the blood could even touch the ground....

(BANG!!)
