Viserys was now walking down the Chequy port. After talking to Dany, he made his way here to find a ship for the siblings and their belongings.
They weren't much, a few of their mother's jewellery and some books, maybe; Viserys didn't know the exact details.
The port itself was very different from the area they lived in. Here, the people dressed nicely, the roads were clean with fewer potholes and more merchants.
Walking around, scanning the port, he soon found himself in the harbour with a line of ships that dumped the things they carried and loaded other things.
'I should look for a ship that's secure, but also affordable,' Viserys mumbled inwardly; he had gold, but he didn't want to spend too much all at once.
And soon, he found a ship; it wasn't small, but not big either; it was a perfect size for him. But instead of approaching them, Viserys decided to wait a while and observe them.
His purple eyes were trained on the man with an account book standing in front of the ship, logging all the shipments that left and arrived at the boat.
'Although all sailors are mostly scum and merchants are greedy, I at least need some sense of security that these guys won't kill me in my sleep!' Viserys exclaimed inwardly.
And after observing the man enough, he decided to approach him. Straightening his back, he asked, "Hey, which ships among here leave for Pentos?"
"Hmm?" the worker mumbled as a frown creased his brows. He looked down at Viserys, his eyes flickering for a moment as he recognised the prince.
'Calm down,' he mumbled to himself, closing the account book in his hand with a soft thud, "Our ship leaves tomorrow at dawn."
Viserys eyed the man; he knew he recognised him. 'Then again, it's not like I'm trying to hide myself.'
"How much?" Viserys asked.
"How many people?" the man replied.
"Two."
"Then, twelve gold each!"
Viserys's eyes bulged at the price, 'Fucker!' He cursed the man inwardly, his jaw clenching tightly, 'You are practically robbing me, fucktard!'
Meanwhile, an amused smile bloomed on the man's face, his eyes glinted with greed as he thought, 'Just see how I suck this money out of you, boy prince!'
"No! That won't do!" Viserys exclaimed, his eyes glaring at the man, "Five gold for both!" he bargained.
"Hah! That's too low!" the man scoffed, "Twelve gold dragons each! I was even considerate of you being a kid! Tsk! Tsk!"
Viserys's face twisted in annoyance, 'Asshole! Do you think I was just born yesterday?! I was a hasira, you know? A hashira in my past life! And I had a nickname too—the cheapest Hashira! You can never win against me!'
Folding his arms, Viserys shook his head, "Thank you for considering, but the best I can do is 7 gold for both, so how about you consider me being a kid a little more?!" he replied with a smirk.
The man's lips twitched at his smirk, 'Bastard! Aren't you a prince?!' he exclaimed inwardly, "20 for both!" He proposed.
"8 for both!"
"18 for both!"
"9 for both!"
"17 for both!"
"10 for both!"
By now, the man's face had turned beet red, his heartbeat quickened as he gnashed his teeth, 'Fuck you! Why not just ask for free?'
"Kid, the best I can do is fifteen for both! If you still want to bargain, then go find someone else, or you can just swim all the way to Pentos!"
Viserys' smirk turned sly, 'just a little more…' he mumbled inwardly before he said, "how about we both compromise a little, twelve gold for both?"
The man stared at Viserys in ridiculousness; he couldn't believe this was a kid who was bargaining. "Haah, fine! You won, kid! Twelve for both! The ships leave at dawn, so be here! Or else, we will leave you!"
'Hehe, success!' Viserys exclaimed inwardly as he nodded his head; he took the gold coins out of his bag and gave five gold coins to the man. "I will pay the rest when we reach Pentos!"
The man's face twisted at this new condition, but still he reluctantly took the gold; he couldn't say no to the shiny things.
After making sure that he wrote the siblings' names on a list, he left the port, back to their home.
...
It was almost dusk when Viserys reached home, the sun setting over the horizon; 'I wanted to bring something to eat for her, but she might fall sick out at sea…'
Walking into the house, Viserys walked towards their bedroom and found Dany sitting on the bed with two trunks on either side of her.
'Hmmm…' Viserys hummed, looking at Dany with a frown, her eyes were moist, her cheeks reddened as if she were on the verge of tears, 'What happened…?' he questioned, looking down at her hands.
She was holding a frame, probably a portrait. "Is it Willem's?" Viserys wondered as he walked towards her and called out, "Dany…"
Dany looked up at her brother, who now sat beside her and glanced at the portrait she was holding, and asked, "Brother, do you think Mother is watching us?"
She then turned back towards the portrait of her mother, Rhaella Targaryen, the former queen of Westeros!
Rhaella had long silver-gold hair and bright purple eyes, a trait of Targaryens. A kind smile adorned her face, and she wore a regal long white dress befitting a queen.
Viserys's gaze softened as he looked at the picture, "Yes, Dany," he whispered, pulling her closer into a hug, "I think Mother would be proud of you."
Dany remained silent at his words for a few moments before she asked, "Brother, why do we not go back to Westeros?"
"Why are you asking me this, Dany?" Viserys asked in reply, with a frown creasing his brows.
Dany, biting her lip and looking up at her brother, said, "U-Uncle Willem told me that you are the rightful king, and that I would be the queen. He said that our home was taken away from us by bad people."
Viserys's frown deepened at her words, 'Haah, that old man…' he sighed inwardly, "We cannot go back, Dany." He mumbled, kissing her forehead, "The people there do not like us any more."
The Stormborn's eyes widened at her brother's words, "B-But I want to go home!" Dany yelled, her tiny hands clenched into fists as she stared at her brother.
SIGH
Viserys sighed; he didn't want to get angry with her. "Dany…" he called to her, cupping her face in his palms as he looked her in the eye. "I am your home."
But the little girl couldn't understand his words, "No!" she yelled, shaking her head from his grasp, "I want to go back to Dragonstone!" Tears threatened to drop from the corners of her eyes.
The prince pressed his lips, narrowing his eyes at her as a flicker of anger flashed across his eyes.
He understood that she was just overwhelmed; first the knight's death and then suddenly moving out of Braavos; it was tough, especially for a child.
"Listen, Dany. I, too, want to go back to Dragonstone, but we can't, not yet," he replied calmly.
"But Why?!"
"We can't, Dany. We are too weak! We don't have any support or soldiers; the moment we step there, they will kill us!" Viserys burst out, his patience running thin.
Dany's eyes went wide at his words; she didn't understand the weight of his words yet, but knew enough that bad things would happen if they went there now.
"T-Then, can we go back later…?" she asked, her head hanging low. She didn't want to move from place to place; she wanted to stay, she wanted to return, back home, back to the way things were.
SIGH
Viserys let out another sigh, calming himself down, hugging her; he said, "Sure, we'll talk about it once you are older, okay?"
Dany bit her lip; she didn't want to give up, but she didn't want her brother to get angry either. "....Okay," she whispered.
"Good," Viserys complimented, kissing her head, "Now, have you packed our stuff?"
"Mhmm," Dany replied with a slight nod.
"Alright then, go to sleep. We have to wake up early in the morning," Viserys said as he put the two trunks down beside the bed.
"Okay," Dany replied as she lay down on the bed, closing her eyes. A moment later, Viserys joined her, spooning his little sister as they both fell asleep, hitting a moment of peace in this chaotic world.
