I knew Sasha would come to me sooner or later, and honestly, I was ready for her.
I had been avoiding her all this while, unsure of how to face her after everything I had learned about her.
But not anymore.
I was going to stand up to her this time.
I had spent enough time being blindsided, thinking she was a friend, when all she had ever done was pretend.
Now that I knew the truth, I would play along—at least until I got what I needed.
"Come to my office then, Sasha, if you have anything to discuss with me. I can't possibly have this conversation here with you," I said, my tone firm and professional.
She was shocked at first by my response but quickly composed herself and nodded.
"Alright, I'll be in your office right away," she replied.
Without another word, I turned and walked to my office, not sparing her another glance.
As soon as I stepped inside, I leaned back in my chair, exhaling sharply.
