Chapter 18 - Chapter 018

Rosa slowly put her hands down and smiled provocatively at him. Her red lips glistened in the light as she shoved me away and sashayed towards him.

"Darling," she cooed, wrapping her arms around him. Tears started rolling down her cheeks so fast I wondered if there were cameras around. Who the hell was she acting for? She deserved a freaking Oscar!

"What's the matter, Rosa?" He asked, wrapping his arms around her too. I felt so invisible, but I guessed that was not a bad thing.

"It's my boyfriend. Can you imagine that Rico cheated on me with another girl? I caught him in bed with a blonde stripper today," she sobbed, buring her face in his chest.

His face hardened as he patted her back and spat out some words in Spanish. My heart skipped a beat at the murderous glint in his eyes. He pulled her aside and stared into her eyes. "I'll kill him."

She gasped and shook her head, caressing his cheeks. "No, darling. Please don't do that. Just let him go. I've gotten over him. I never loved him anyway, you know."

My heart raced as she let her robe fall off, her eyes droopy with seduction as she traced her hands across his chest. "You're the one I've always loved."

What?! This felt so sickening and disgusting.

Luca looked conflicted. I could see it in his eyes. He loved her crazily, but did he love her as a cousin or as a lover?

"Luca... I need you," she cooed, tracing her fingers until it got to the first button of his white shirt, which hugged his frame tightly.

She shoved him, so he sat on the bed and straddled him.

The sight was so disgusting I turned around, unable to watch what else would happen. I could still hear her whispers as she tried to seduce him in my presence.

"You know I love you, baby. We were supposed to be together."

 "Rosa—"

"I know you married her just to protect me."

 "Rosa—"

"She wouldn't care less if we had sex. She shouldn't. She's just a fake anyway."

I couldn't care less. After all, he was just my mission. He could sleep with whoever he chose, couldn't he? Yet, part of me felt like a blow was delivered to my guts.

Who seduces a woman's husband in front of her?

I really wanted to walk over to them and fling her to the wall by the hair but knowing Luca, that wouldn't end well.

I stormed to the bathroom and shut the door behind me. For some reason, the scene opened old wounds.

Memories of my ex-boyfriend played back in my head. He had said the same things Rosa was saying back then to another girl, not knowing I was hearing everything.

 "I don't love her. You're the one I love."

"She's just the fake. You're the real deal, baby."

"You're much sweeter than she could ever be. Maybe that's why she never let me touch her."

Their moans remained imprinted in my memory.

Before I could stop it, a tear rolled down my cheeks. I wanted to succumb to the grief and just sob. I wanted to mourn my life. I wasn't worthy or deserving of anyone's love.

The tears kept rolling down my cheeks but Trevor's mocking words suddenly echoed in my mind again.

'No sentiments. No emotions. Just steel yourself to any form of emotion,' I chided myself harshly, rushing over to the sink to splash water on my face.

My heart was racing but I forced it to slow down. I didn't care if Luca slept with with the ladies in the world. I didn't give a damn about him. He was my target, my mission, and that was all he would ever be to me.

I jumped when the door to the bathroom swung opened and it was him. His hair was tousled and his chest bare. His pant was also opened and hung loosely on his waist.

He stared at me for a moment, looking like he was about to say something but then looked away. Was he done with Rosa so quickly? It wasn't even up to ten minutes.

"We're going to the garden in the next five minutes," he stated, adjusting his pants. He looked all hot and bothered for some reason. He bent over to the sink and splashed cold water on his face, giving me the chance to see the red lipstick pressed on his white shirt. Rosa.

I rolled my eyes. "I'm tired. I want to sleep," I dared to defy. No more sentiments. Now was time for logic. His eyes grew dark and he paused, leaving the water running.

"Excuse me?" He growled. "I said we are going to the garden in the next five minutes. That wasn't a suggestion. it was a command. You had better got dressed this instant or prepare to go out anyway."

I ignored him and walked towards the room, when he grabbed me and spun me to face him, making my back hit the wall. Trapping me between the wall and his arms, he leaned closer.

"Are you jealous?" He whispered. There was a spark of amusement in his eyes. He was probably feeling himself right now, and that was just what I wanted.

"I couldn't care less. It doesn't matter to me. You can sleep with whoever you want," I snapped. "As for me, I'm going to bed."

"No, you are not," he growled, his hands wrapped around my neck. "You will not disobey me under my own roof."

"Why?" I snapped. "What are you going to do? I doubt your family would be too pleased to know that you killed your wife for disobeying you, don't you think?" I asked, tracing my fingers across his firm muscles, a smirk on my lips.

His eyes darkened and his hands slowly unwrapped themselves from my neck, letting me go.

"Alright, then. If we're staying in the room, then you won't be sleeping."

My brows lifted in feigned confusion. "I just said I'm tired."

He smirked, lifting me in one arm. "You can't be too tired, wifey. We are yet to consummate our marriage."
